**Contains light BDSM and menage relationships**
Unexpected Consequences starts up immediately where Unexpected Protector ends, you you will need to read it first. And since all the books have a common storyline that runs through each of them at times, to get the full benefit of the books I would read Unexptected Angel then Unexpected Protector before this book.
Unexpected Consequences is a sexy, hot read that I couldn't put down!
In the aftermath of the incident that happens at the end of book 2, the relationship between Mary, Zeke and Jeff is thrown into turmoil, full of insecurities and drama.
Family dramas it, strained relationships with their closest friends. It would be enough for anyone one say forget about it, it is too hard.
I have to say that I have read a fair few menage books, and is a credit to Ms Johnson's writing that this relationship, that could turn out being either cringe-worthy or unbelievable, feels completely organic, not at all over the top (like some I have read previously). And I am totally addicted to m/m books, so any time we can get Jeff and Zeke alone ~~ let me at it!!
The dynamic of the group gets you so that you cannot help but want their relationship to work. It has their fair share of ups and down, of course there is a bit of jealousy and resentment to contend with, but I love how the trio works their way through their troubles. And all the while they stayed true to themselves, didn't bend to anyone elses expectations, no matter what it may cost them.
Can their unconventional relationship work, and will they all get their happy ever after?
Nope ~ I will never tell! You are going to have to read for yourself.
It was fantastic that we got more of Dylan and Tasha, Tommy and Holly, and more of Liam's background. I also loved the crossover with Blessed Tragedy playing a pretty big part in Unexpected Consequences. This group are so close knit that it would not have felt complete if we did not having them bickering with each other, sticking their nose in each others business, but more importantly being their to support each other through thick and thin.
The Isthmus Alliance series just gets better and better, and I can't wait to see what Ms Johnson comes up with next (more Liam please!!!)

Sloan Johnson is a big city girl trapped in a country girl’s body. While she longs for the hustle and bustle of New York City or Las Vegas, she hasn’t yet figured out how to sit on the deck with her morning coffee, watching the deer and wild turkeys in the fields while surrounded by concrete and glass.
When she was three, her parents received their first call from the principal asking them to pick her up from school. Apparently, if you aren’t enrolled, you can’t attend classes, even in Kindergarten. The next week, she was in preschool and started plotting her first story soon after.
Later in life, her parents needed to do something to help their socially awkward, uncoordinated child come out of her shell and figured there was no better place than a bar on Wednesday nights. It’s a good thing they did because this is where she found her love of reading and writing. Who needs socialization when you can sit alone in your bedroom with a good book?
Now, Sloan is a tattooed, purple haired mom of two kids, one of which was a thank you present to her husband for letting her get a Staffordshire Terrier with more anxiety issues than Sloan has, which is saying something. She’s been kicked out of the PTA in two school districts and is no longer asked to help with fundraisers because she’s been known to lose herself in a good book and forget that she has somewhere to be.
