Off-Campus #2

Make sure to read THE DEAL first - you do NOT want to miss meeting Garrett ☺

Hes a player in more ways than one

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he
ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that hes worth a second chance.

Now hes going to need to up his game

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She
s not a charity case, and shes not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? Hell have to work for it. This time around, shell be the one in the drivers seatand she plans on driving him wild.

 This is Logan's story! ☺☺☺
We already met him in THE DEAL - where his best buddy, roommate & hockey-team-Captain, Garrett found his Happy Ever After with Hannah....
But through all the time it took Garrett & Hannah to get together - Logan was watching and lusting after Hannah himself :( Poor guy. You can't be in love with your best friend's girl. That's why he's been trying to drown his sorrows in alcohol and random hook-ups for the past weeks....
But it's not really working.
Until he accidentally knocks on Grace's dorm-room door. Expecting to find his buddy Danny's party.
And this shy and slightly ODC-ish girl is surprisingly just what he needs to forget about Hannah.

She's - of course - still a virgin in her first year of College. And she's also very shy, and awkward and doesn't have a filter - especially when talking to hot guys ☺

She obviously knows who Logan is - he's one of the stars of the College's Hockey team and ridiculously hot!!

She knows all that because her roommate has been lusting after one of Logan's friends (Dean) for a while now - and Grace keeps getting dragged to every game!

They very quickly become friends - not really with benefits - but with loooots of sexiness ☺
But of course Logan isn't sure about this thing with Grace - what if he's only using her to get over Hannah?

Some lies and misunderstandings and problems in Logan's family add lots of trouble to the whole story.

Will the adorable virgin be able to turn the hot athlete away from his serial hook-ups to a committed relationship?

 Nope . . . I'm not telling you ☺

Such an amazing book.
I already loved THE DEAL sooo much - but this one is even better...

Logan is soooo hot and sexy and sweet.
And Grace is so adorable and together they are just perfect. Perfect for each other.

But of course we don't have the instant Happy End - that would be boring.

It was a really interesting story. With lots of funny & adorable moments!!!

"You've always been a player, but dude, you've hooked up with five chicks this week."
"So it's Thursday. Five girls in four days. Do the fucking math, John."
Oh shit. He first-named me. Tucker only calls me John when I've really pissed him off.

... ♥ ...
"Stop asking me questions."
"No problem. Do you want to ask me some?"
"Okeydokey. I'll keep being the question-asker then."
"Did you just say okeydokey?"
"Yup. Was that adorable enough to change your mind about that date?"

Lots of sexy scenes

I loved every minute of the book - I finished it in one night!!! (Might've been early morning already ☺)

A tiny little thing that bothered me a bit - Elle uses the expression HOOK-UP waaaay too much.
I stopped counting after 39548 ☺ Maybe a few other similiar expressions here and there would've been better.

THE MISTAKE was such an amazingly adorable & sexy & cute & funny, but also serious Romance - It will SOOO not be a mistake to buy it (ha-ha - see what I did there ← ☺)
You will soooo want your own Logan after reading it!!! ♥

And now hurry Elle - I want to read Dean's story (with Sabrina??) and Tucker's and who's left?? I need more of those amazing guys!!! ☺

ARC received for an honest review

This is the second book in the Off Campus series, and to get the the full impact of the story in The Mistake, you should read The Deal first.

We met John Logan - just call him Logan  - in The Deal, as he is the main man Garrett's best friend.

Well, now Logan is the main man, and this is his story.

Hockey star Logan is still smarting from things at the end of the deal.  Healing a bit of a broken heart, he is retreating from his friends to avoid more hurt.  Well, retreating from his friends, but still whoring his way through the girls at the university.

Grace's first run in with Logan nothing to write home about, their second accidental meeting changes things for both herself and Logan in more ways than one.

I adore Grace.  She is smart, sexy, and love the interesting facts she comes up with when she gets nervous and starts babbling.  It is like verbal incontinence as things just tumble out of her mouth!

Logan, Logan, Logan.  He could be such a jerk at times, but then at others he could be so beautiful and heartbreaking, you just wanted to give him a big hug. There was so much more to Logan than you think you are going to get.

I loved that Grace didn't just fall into Logan's bed like all the other ladies seemed to do.  If it is worth having, it is worth working for, and boy did she make him work!

There is a great scene with "a list" that had me really laugh. I mean real belly laughs.

There were times I laughed, there were times I teared up while our lovelies were kind of treading water, trying to find their way to a real relationship.  Oh, and when we get to the sexy times, they were seeeexxxy.  All those man-whoring ways mean that Logan really knows what he is doing!

There was one character that I felt quite violent towards, and it is not the one you would think it would be.  Not going to mention which one as I don't want to taint anyones opinions, but gah, if I could have reached into the book and throat punched them, it would have happened!

I have really been drawn into this series, so I hope we don't have too long to wait for me.  Please please please let it be Dean's story!

I have to say, I think I liked Logan's story better than Garrett's in The Deal - and wasn't sure if that was going to happen.

New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery's classic blend of lighthearted humor and intense emotional conflict works its magic on two newcomers to the California town of Fool's Gold, which Library Journal calls "a setting so real and appealing readers will want to start scoping out real estate."

Destiny Mills believes passion has its place
like in the lyrics of the country songs that made her parents famous. After a childhood full of drama and heartache, she wants a life that's calm. Safe. Everything that Kipling Gilmore isn't. Her temporary assignment with the Fool's Gold search and rescue team puts her in delicious proximity to the former world-class skier every day. Part of her aches to let go for oncethe rest is terrified what'll happen if she does.

Though an accident ended his career, Kipling still lives for thrills
and a hot fling with a gorgeous redhead like Destiny would be a welcome diversion. Yet beneath his new coworker's cool facade is a woman who needs more than he's ever given. With her, he's ready to take the risk. But love, like skiing, is all about trustand before you soar, you have to be willing to fall.

Population 125,482

Book #16 - and finally Kipling's story - we've been waiting for him to come to town, ever since out Mayor went flying around the world to find him ☺

He's a former Ski-Superstar / Olympic Gold Medal winner ... who's unfortunately had to end his career because of a bad accident - he almost ended up in a wheel-chair :(
But now he's in our favorite town, running the newly formed HERO - Search & Rescue unit.

And Destiny - she's in town for a few months to get the HERO software up and running...and then she'll leave again. That's what she always does. Work at one place for a while and leave. But this time things might be different. Not only because she's horribly attracted to Kipling (but she's SO NOT starting something with an adrenaline junkie!!! - at least that's what she's telling herself - she wants a quiet and safe and nice man.) But there's also her new half-sister. Not really new - Starr is already 15, but they never met before. And now she lives with Destiny. And the kid will probably need a safe place to live....and she seems to like it in Fool's Gold.

And even if Destiny might admit to herself to like the town and its people.... she doesn't believe in love...
She had a rough childhood. With famous country-singer-parents who were divorced and married a million times ... she never had a safe place to live until her grandma took her away from Nashville into the mountains to live with her.

But she still has some Nashville left in her...she needs music...to listen to it - to create and play it - and to even sing it - but she only does all that in the privacy of her bedroom.....

Will Kipling - with his fix-everyone-who-needs-fixing gene - be able to pull her out of her denial and get her to believe in love and life??
Could this gorgeous guy and this lovely town, probably be her - ha-ha - Destiny??? ☺

What will happen to Destiny & Kipling?
Will there be a HEA?

Nope - I'm not telling you ☺

Ugh - I just LOVE Fool's Gold and it's people - I would be happy to have a new Fool's Gold book every month for the rest of my life! ☺

I was sooo looking forward to finally find out what Mayor Marsha had in mind when she went to New Zealand to get Kipling ☺ Now we know....
He's so cute and funny and sexy and it's really admirable how he dealt with the loss of the love of his life: skiing.... He misses it like crazy, but he knows he needs to start the next phase of his life....and not only will the HERO unit be part of it -  he's also hoping that Destiny will be the most important part of it.... But of course he doesn't know that in the beginning - he's happy that she'll leave again in a few months...he's not looking for something serious...poor guy ☺

Just like every single Fool's Gold Romance, HOLD ME was just as great...
Of course we already meet or at least hear about, some new guys & girls  -  who will find their HEA in the up-coming books...can't wait!!!

GO AND BUY  HOLD ME - it's another amazing Mallery Romance that has it all: The town of Fool's Gold with all its amazing inhabitants - a hot Ski-God - Love - Moving & adorable moments & romantic sexiness like all of SUSAN'S books = JUST PERFECT

4.9 Stars

One bucking bronco…
Oklahoma ranch hand Tyler Jenkins is too young, too sexy, and too damn wild to be tied down by any single woman - for more than a few steamy hours…

One hard-working widow…
Widowed rancher Janie Smithwick is too busy paying off her debts to play rodeo with a reckless young cowboy like Tyler - no matter how hot he gets her…

One midnight ride they’ll never forget…
As a rule, Janie should be dating a man her own age, like her handsome neighbor Rohn - not the twenty-four-year old ranch hand he employs. But once Tyler gets Janie alone - held tight in his arms, pressed against his hard muscled body, burning with desire - the widow realizes that some rules, like broncos, are meant to be broken…

“Cat Johnson knows cowboys…”
New York Times bestselling author Lorelei James

Tyler is a 24 year old cowboy...living his dream life:
Working at Rohn's Ranch by day and enjoying the ladies and a cold beer and good steak at night.
That's the plan for the next few years, until he's ready to settle down with the perfect girl.
That is until he meets the widowed lady from next door to Rohn's farm.
She's twelve years older than Tyler - but he's so damn attracted to her, that he offers his help in fixing things on her ranch. Things that she just doesn't have the money or talent to fix.

And of course Janie is equally attracted to Tyler. But she's so sure that that has got to be wrong....not that she's old enough to be his mom, but still...12 years is a lot.
But he's just so hot .... especially when he's worked up a sweat and ditched his shirt ☺

I'm not telling you of course! ☺

I really enjoyed this book.
It wasn't my first Cat Johnson cowboy romance.... so I knew what to expect - and Midnight Ride did not disappoint one bit ☺

It was funny and sexy and moving and just adorable.
A really great Oklahoma Romance in a beautiful setting with a really great hero and heroine and great co-stars ☺

I'm normally not such a big fan of huge age differences between my book characters - Janie is 12 years older than Tyler - but it wasn't really that bad. I would've hated it if Janie would've been way over 40 ☺
But since I'm 36 myself ☺ I couldn't hate the fact that a hot cowboy is attracted to her ☺☺☺

Two little things I didn't like all that much: the sex doesn't happen until way after the middle of the book - I had expected a bit more sexiness - but it was still really romantic and sexy ☺
And - kind of a hard-limit for me in my romances: Church and religion :( I don't want that in my books.
It wasn't all that bad - they just went to church once and talked about it a bit - but it's just my personal hard-limit ☺

But all in all I really loved the story - especially Tyler ☺ ♥

Midnight Ride was a really adorable & sexy Cowboy romance.
Gives us 'old' ladies some hope that we're not yet ready to be put out to pasture

Okeydokey - ready for the next hot cowboy now ☺☺☺

ARC received from author via Netgalley for an honest review

This is not my first Cat Johnson book, but it is the first cowboy book of hers I have read.  Cowboys... SEALs.... both hot, so I had a bit of an idea what to expect with Midnight Ride.

And I was not disappointed!

I really liked Midnight Ride.  Being that side of 40, I am getting to the stage where I get a bit sick of all the characters in my books being early 20's.  But oy, Bianca!!  You would have had a problem if Tyler was after me????  I know I wouldn't have lol

You could feel the spark the second Janie and Tyler meet.  And LOVED the circumstances of how they met, very funny!

I couldn't blame Janie for ogling Tyler, thinking about Tyler, dreaming about Tyler.  What woman with a pulse wouldn't be?

I could understand Janie's hesitation to get involved with Tyler - recently widowed, the age difference.  But I wanted to shake some sense into her,  Tyler did nothing but show her how he wants her and she kept pushing him away.  Silly woman!!  Welcome to Cougar Town lady!

So,  are their feelings enough to keep them together?  Or will the age difference be too much for Janie to take a chance/

Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.

I live in a country town, farming district, and I have to say - I need some of these cowboys to drop in!

I loved the secondary characters, Rohn, Colton and Justin on the farm, Janie's best friend Rene - heck, I think I love her the best lol.  We need more of her in the next books - even though they are not about Janie and Tyler.

This was a sweet, pretty angst free, fun romance - with healthy dose of hunky cowboys!

I am looking forward to the next two in the series.
