Love Required
Book #3 in the Real Love Series
Melanie Codina
Jason Michaels knows second chances are very much a part of “happy ever after.” He’s seen it firsthand, more than once. So when will it be his turn? He has a great group of friends and family to share his life with, but he knows there is one thing still missing. Love isn’t something he’s been avoiding, he just hasn’t found it yet… or has he?
Tori Peterson has made mistakes in her life, but they all pale in comparison to her marriage. Luckily, she’s a woman who quickly learned from her mistakes. Doing everything in her power to escape the man who promised to cherish her, she builds herself a life she can be proud of. Never again will she be fooled into being with a man who she might love. She knows she has too much to lose. Her hope? That she will recognize real love when she finds it. Her fear? That her past will catch her before she has a chance to find the love she deserves, the love that is required … So what happens when her hopes and fears catch up to her at the same time?
ARC received for an honest review
Love Required is the 3rd book in the Real Love series, and I have to say that this series just keeps getting better and better. Each book I keep getting drawn deeper and deeper into the lives of these characters.
Tori has had a pretty horrific past couple of years, but she is such a strong woman that she is not going to let her past keep her down.
Jason, who we have met in the previous two books, Love Realized and Love Resisted, is the kind of man we all want. Strong, possessive, alpha. But with the kindest, sweetest heart you could ever imagine. He wants the kind of love that his friends have been finding, but doesn't hold out hope that it will happen any time soon.
I think we all need a Jason.
Tori is tested over and over, and I loved watching as she, her young daughter, and Jason triumph over all the dramas that are thrown at them ~ and there is a couple of doozies, I can tell you!
Love Required has it's fair share of ups and downs. What it doesn't have is one or both the MC's umming and ahhing about having a relationship. They both want it and they both go for it. Is it all easy ~ hell no, and I love it for it!
I also love that we get more of the crazy gang that is Jason's family and friends. We get more of Jake and Gillian and their boys, more of Mike and Allie. This is such a tight-knit group of family and friends, and they are there for each other through thick and thin. The make me laugh, they make my heart break and make me smile till I feel my face might break. And I love how their group is expanding with more partners and friends as the series goes on.
I also think that every girl needs and Allie or Tessa (Tori's best friend) in their lives.
And then there is Logan. Yes, he behaved despicably in the first book, and yes he deserved everything he got. But now as time has gone by, you can feel his loneliness and his heart breaking as everyone around him is finding love.
I hope that even as much as an idiot he was when we first met him, that he does eventually get his HEA.
Ms Codina has created a series filled with characters that we can all relate to one or more of. Her writing is crisp, and the story flowed well. I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.

Melanie is an amazing mother of four, an awesome and tolerant wife to one, and nurse to many. If you don’t believe her, just ask anyone in her family, they know what to say. She is also a devoted chauffeur, the keeper of missing socks, a genius according to a six year old, the coolest soccer uniform coordinator according to a twelve year old, and the best damn ‘mac-n-cheese-with-cut-up-hot-dog maker in the whole world. Well that last title isn’t really official, but it’s still pretty cool to be called it. When not being ordered around by any of the kids, you can find her with her nose in a book or on the sideline of a soccer game cheering on one team or another. But that’s mostly because she has a thing for the coach. When she is not doing all of the above, you can find her obsessed with a group of fictional characters all vying for a spot on the page of whatever she’s working on. It’s a fun and crazy life to lead, but wouldn’t have it any other way
