Review by Janeane

The Weekend Proposition is a short, but sweet read, and I will definitely be giving it a re-read in the future.

This is the story of sexy billionaire Spencer Canon, who does not have time for relationships.

Dakota - or Coda as she prefers to go by, is a college graduate working 2 jobs to make ends meet until she finds a job in her chosen profession.

A chance encounter one night while she is working in his office leads to a proposition of sorts.

Spencer needs Coda to act as his date at a family wedding to keep a delusional ex at bay.  Coda needs his money.

The instant attraction between Spencer and Code makes their "business only" deal a hard one to stick too.

I loved that Coda was the one to force the issue with Spencer.  This was a nice turnaround on the usual billionaire/normal girl story.  He does not want to take things further (at least not until the weekend is over), no matter how tempted he is.

Of course there are those who do not want a relationship to blossom between Spencer and Coda.

Ava, his ex, is just one big bucket of trouble.

Her family - who are also business partners with Spencer's family - are pushing for a wedding.
I loved that Spencer stood up to his and her family about what he wanted, and went for it!  Loved the connection between Spencer and Coda - when you know it's right, you know it's right.

It is not hard to tell where the story is going to end up, but it is an enjoyable journey we are taken on.

The Weekend Proposition has a Pretty Woman / Maid In Manhattan kind of feel to it, and there are no huge surprised, but it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours reading.

This was the first I have read of Ella Jade, but I will be definitely checking out more.

Excerpt:
I have a proposition for you.

A proposition? What could he possibly have to offer her?

I have to attend my cousins wedding this weekend. Actually, I have to leave tomorrow afternoon. I dont want to go alone for reasons I dont wish to discuss right now. I need someone to accompany me. Im offering that to you.

And you think Im to the point?

He smiled but didnt say anything. She couldnt stand the silence. She wanted to figure out his game. There had to be some sort of catch.
You want me to go to a wedding with you?

Its in Connecticut. I would require your services until Sunday afternoon. All of your expenses would be paid, including a wardrobe which would be yours to keep after the weekend.

You need a date?

I would need you to appear as my girlfriend.

Is this a joke?

I wouldnt joke about something like this. Ive thought the entire thing through.

A man who looks like you should have no problem finding a real girlfriend to buy clothes for and flaunt in front of his family. She thought for a moment. Unless theres something wrong with you.

Theres nothing wrong with me. He raised his voice a bit. I had planned on attending alone but circumstances have changed. Im in a bind and from what I gather, you are too.

Her instincts screamed to run in the opposite direction. Shed never been the type to fall for a scam. Im not interested in—”

Ill pay you two hundred and fifty thousand dollars for your time.

What? Apparently a side of crazy came with those good looks.

One hundred and twenty-five thousand today, if you agree. He pulled out a check from the inside pocket of the jacket he had draped on the back of the chair. He slipped the mint green paper across the table. Youll get the rest on Sunday afternoon.

Thats fifty grand a day. She studied the check. It would take her years to make that kind of money working these shit-end jobs.

Im aware. He nodded as if the money meant nothing. Im asking for your time, a commodity I believe should be well compensated.

Too good to be true.

Do you make it a habit of paying women to be your girlfriend?

Pretend girlfriend, he reminded her. You would be the first.

Why me?

Does it matter?

What exactly do you expect me to do for that money?

I told you. He narrowed his eyes. I need a date for a long weekend. Everyone needs to think were a couple.

Youre willing to pay me to go away with you for four days. Im supposed to take your word were going to a wedding in Connecticut? How do I know you wont kidnap me and want to do all sorts of kinky stuff to me? You could be some sex-obsessed lunatic.

Kinky stuff?

Yeah, you know, like bondage and blindfolds.

Do you like that sort of thing? He tried to conceal his smirk.

Review by Janeane - ARC received for honest review

I was not sure what to expect when I signed up for the blog tour of Rose of Thorne - but wow, I am so glad I did!  What a wonderful surprise Rose of Thorne turned out to be!

Orphaned on her 16th birthday, Skylar has spent the past 7 years doing everything she can to give her younger sister Sophie, a rising soccer star, everything she could ever need.
In her last year of college, she works herself to exhaustion while praying that she gets the internship that will be the one to start her career rolling.

Sebastian Thorne - now the sexy billionaire CEO of Thorne Industries, was a reckless teenager who caused the accident that killed Skylar's parents.  He has never been able to assuage the guilt, or forget the girl he left in the accident.

He has always kept tabs on her from a distance.  Unable to keep away, he "accidentally" runs into her at her work one night, but vows to himself that he must keep away. Which he - kind of - does.
All is going well, until the day she walks into his office for a job interview.

The tension between these two is thick - and HOT!  Seriously, you would get proximity-tension just by being in the room with these two! But they keep things professional - or do they??

Enter Lucas Drake - who nearly runs over Skylar. Another sexy, rich, CEO.  Love at first sight - yeah, pretty much for Lucas.

What I want to know is - what road do I need to be crossing  to find a Sebastian or Lucas??  Damn this girl has some luck in the men department!!  These two fall hard and fast for her, and she has feelings for both, but who will she choose?
But - what will Skylar do if she ever finds out the truth?  Will Sebastian tell her the truth?

For this, you will have to buy the book and read!  I read Rose of Thorne in one sitting, just could not put it down!  The story grabbed me right from the word go, and kept me captivated till the end.

There were a couple of grammatical and spelling/typo errors but not enough that they annoyed me - which they usually do. Other than that, Rose of Thorne was very well written.

But then, it happened:
And I was all:
I know it won't be long until Book 2 - Thornless - will be out, but I want it now!!!
