✪ The Gritty Truth (The Whiskey; Dark Knights at Peaceful Harbor) ✪ Melissa Foster ✪ Blog Tour ✪

A fun, sexy, and emotionally riveting new standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster. THE GRITTY TRUTH is the perfect love story for those who enjoy fiercely loyal and insanely sexy alpha heroes, smart, sassy heroines, strong family bonds, bikers, babies, and more!

Recovering drug addict Quincy Gritt has fought his demons. He’s confessed to his crimes and conquered his addictions. He’s finally ready to go after sweet, sexy Roni, the gorgeous brunette who won a date with him in a charity auction five months ago and has been putting him off, and driving him wild, ever since.

Dancer Veronica “Roni” Wescott worked hard to escape the seedy area where she was raised and followed her dreams to Julliard, only to have them shattered in the blink of an eye. She fought hard and regained her footing, but then the rug was pulled out from under her again when the grandmother who raised her passed away, leaving Roni feeling adrift in a world she knows very little about outside of dance. And then there's Charlie Hunnam–lookalike Quincy Gritt—the man whose late-night texts pulled her through her grief and have been setting her heart aflutter for months.

Quincy pulls out all the stops, determined to prove that their friendship is only the beginning of what’s destined to be so much more. Romantic nights lead to smoldering passion and a deep connection too strong to be denied. But when Quincy’s past comes back to haunt him, can he and Roni accept their new gritty truth, or will Quincy spiral back into the darkness and lose the future he fought so hard to have?

ARC received for an honest review

Ever since I read Tru Blue all those years ago, I have been waiting for Quincy Gritty's story. Tru Blue is still my favourite Melissa Foster book - ever I was disappointed with The Gritty Truth.

Throughout the Whiskey series, we have learned little bits about Quincy, though we have always learned things from Truman or others POV. Now we have the whole shebang from Quincy's story, and, as I knew it would be, it was heartbreaking and beatiful and sad - and hopeful.

Both Quincy and Roni have had a crappy time in the past, and it was wonderful to see them pull each other through. They are each other's anchor in a turbulent world.

I loved the honesty of this story.  Quincy hides nothing, owns his mistakes, and is the kind of person all of us should aspire to be like.  He is full of love.  Oh boy, did he make my heart swell at times.

I liked how our lovelies didn't just fall into bed.  They have a slow burn of a relationship, that only bursts into flame when they really, really know each other.  Roni's strength shines through as the story progresses.

I love, love, loved getting more of my man Truman Gritt, along with his family, and the extended family of Peaceful Harbor.

There is one thing though - and I feel that this is more my thing with Ms Foster's books and it probably does not bother any one else - the past few books, including The Gritty Truth - get to a stage in the story where the leading characters are just cruising, and it feels like it is just filler.  Our characters are in their happy and just living life.  Nothing wrong with that, however I feel that we could probably have about 10% of the book cut and it would be just as enjoyable.  Again, this is just my musings, my thing.

I am looking forward to more in these worlds.

standalone Holiday Rom-Com

• ... and since we always see a lot of former heroes in a Max Monroe book, why not start with Max Monroe's very first and very hilarious book ►Tapping The Billionaire

4.9 Stars
Goal: Find a boyfriend, get married, buy a house in the suburbs with a white picket fence, and pop out 2.5 kids.

Deadline: Sixty days.

That’s possible, right?

HAHAHA. *Faints*

I’m kidding.
Well, kind of. I mean, I’m not going to attempt a shotgun wedding or try to get knocked up by some guy I met on the internet, but there is no doubt that, this year, home for the holidays takes on a whole new, terrifying meaning.

I have to travel from New York City
my home and safe haven for the last fifteen yearsto my tiny hometown in Vermont for Christmas, my baby sisters wedding, and my high school reunion.

Talk about a trifecta of single-doom.

Throw in Callie Camden
aka my high school class’s version of Regina Georgeand its a recipe for certified disaster.

Especially since my mouth ran away from me when she asked me if I’d be bringing someone to our reunion, and I told her to
 put me down for two.
Gah. Now I
 can’t go alone.

But the online dating world is a cesspool of bad manners, speedy hookups, and outright weirdos.

Handsome, single, successful
that’s what Im looking for.
And it just so happens that my best friend Luke London fits
 all of the criteria.

The only problem is
 best friends don’t kiss

But maybe it doesn’t count if it’s pretend?

Ava and Luke.
They've been best friends for 15 years - since day one at New York's Columbia University.
Now they still live across the hall from each other.
Ava is 33 years old and the only one in her family to not be married - or even in a relationship.
So she needs a boyfriend asap to take home to Vermont for Christmas, her younger sister's wedding and the dreaded 15 year highschoool reunion!
After going through a few horrible dating app dates - we all know she'll take Luke ... ☺

I adored this!
Ava and Luke. They could've fallen in love back then - there was attraction ... but it never happened. But of course now we so want it to happen. And it's so adorable to watch it all play out!
I loved their banter and their obvious love for each other. I loved their besties and of course I loved the many cameos of all our darling Billionaires!!

What more can I say? READ IT!
This was just the cutest #RomCom!
I adored all the people and things!!
I especially loved the dad and his Christmas obsession! Adorable!

How are none of Max Monroe's books streaming their behinds off on Netflix yet??? The world is a weird and sad place!!

BEST FRIENDS DON'T KISS was such a funny & sweet & crazy holiday-ish rom-com! Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Luke - he'll be sold out in no time!!!
