Synopsis
Knox Bauer's life has unraveled to the point of no return. Fighting to fill the emptiness inside himself, he seeks solace in unfamiliar beds with unfamiliar women. “What’s on your mind?” I asked, wiping my mouth on the napkin.
Pretty blue eyes pierced mine as she hesitated to answer.
“Say it, angel.”
“When I met you…I don’t know. I could feel your pain and knew you’d experienced more than your fair share of trauma too. I felt connected to you.”
I knew what she meant, but that didn’t mean I wanted to encourage her attachment to me. I would only end up hurting and disappointing her. Even if I did everything in my power not to, that was my track record with women.
“McKenna, I’m not going to deny that we have a connection. We do.”
“But?” she supplied, a trace of sarcasm in her voice.
“But…I fuck random girls. I use them for sex. I’m not a good guy. You shouldn’t be so nice to me.”
“You’ve made bad choices. You’ve messed up. But you’re not a bad guy. I see the way you are with your brothers, and attending group, that’s your way of trying to get better. You’re not going to scare me off so easily, Knox.”
My participation in her little meetings was practically court-mandated, and honestly, the only reason I’d continued going was because of my attraction to her, but I didn't correct her, wouldn't scare her off until she was ready to go.

Knox is the consummate bad boy. Legal trouble, slut, trouble with a capital T.
McKenna is the consummate good girl. A fixer. A helper. A virginal sex addiction counsellor ~ I know, it sounds like a bizarre career choice!
When their worlds collide in sex addicts counselling, it is just trouble in the making!
But there is so much more to both of these characters. They have both had tragic events in their pasts that have shaped who they are today. Guilt controls them both and will either make them or break them.
Can these two complete opposites be perfect together, or will their differences be too great and keep them apart? For that you are going to have to read for yourself.
I loved the Knox that is beneath the bad boy. I am not going to go into what he is all about, but swoon worthy I tell you!
While there are some funny moments and times when you just want to groan and roll your eyes, their stories are such that you cannot help but get invested in them. Both so young with so much on their shoulders, you just know that eventually they are going to crack, but what will the consequences be?
It did bother me a little that with all her counselling training McKenna has not learned that she is not at fault for things that happened to others, considering that is what she is teaching others? I know that it is always easier looking in, but her constant blame game started to grate on me a little bit and made me roll my eyes at her ~~ but this could just be me?
The sexual chemistry between Knox and McKenna is off the charts. You could cut the UST with a knife!!! Where will it all end up?
For that we are all going to have to wait until the next book.
And beware, just as things were getting really interesting.... BAM!
But this didn't bother me as much as it might have, as I did know it was going to be one, and it is not too long until the next installment is published.
I am looking forward to seeing where Knox and McKenna's "relationship" goes as this series continues.
