• A standalone Contemporary Romance
• Release Date: 13 February 2017
From New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a sexy, STANDALONE second-chance romance.
They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?
So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.
At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.
Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.
I was riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.
They didn’t know about our past.
He’d chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.
As my friend Lorelai so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was suffering in pain from my case.
I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.
Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.
And soon I might be breaking all the rules.
Author's note – Told in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.

ARC received for an honest review
That cover - I licked it, he's mine!
I love everything I have read by Penelope Ward to date, and Mack Daddy is no exception.
This second chance at romance is a sweet, decadent read that I couldn't put down.
Mack and Frankie have history and I loved getting both the past and present times in their relationship. I laughed, I got angry, I had a lot of fun with our lovelies.
Not going to lie though, at times Mack frustrated the heck out of me. Seriously dude, where was your man card? I know he was in situations he didn't want to be in at times, but I just wanted to shake some sense into him to stop letting people walk all over him.
Grow a pair man! (But this could just be me)
But then he would do something so amazing and wonderful and it would make me forget it all.
So yeah, even though I wanted to bang both Mack and Frankie's heads together to get them to wake up to themselves at times, I loved them. Couldn't help but want to them to sort their sh!t out.
Mack Daddy is fun, sweet, sexy, just plain ridiculous at times, and I wouldn' t have had it any other way.
Can't wait to see what Ms Douglas brings us next.

Francesca used to be in love with Mack.
That was 8 years ago, when they were both in college in Boston. She met him when she moved in with him and his room mate Moses. Mack, with the looks of a supermodel, and Francesca with her OCD and shyness - opposites attract and all that - they became instant friends. Both mega-intrigued by the other. But nothing ever happened because Mack was dating Torrie back home in D.C. - the girl his political parents wanted him to marry.
Fast forward to present time Boston.
Francesca is working as a first-grade teacher at a catholic school and Mack just enrolled his little boy Jonah in said school.
He's not with Torrie anymore and he never - not for a single day - forgot about Francesca and what he had with her. Even though there was nothing physical between them back then, it was so much deeper than anything they ever had before or after.
And now he's back to ask for forgiveness and to get a 2nd chance!
But can Francesca trust him again? She's so afraid to get hurt! Also, she kind of living with Victor! ☺

What will happen to Frankie & Mack?
Will there be a 2nd chance for a HEA?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ____________________________________________
I was soooooo looking forward to reading this!
And I loved it! But I also had some problems with it!
First of all - the cover! OY! I am in love with this cover!!!
(Even though now that I finished the book and look into the eyes of the cover guy - his face, the way he looks, could've clued me in to the fact that we have a bit of a softie on our hands :/ )
I really enjoyed the story! It was so adorable and funny and romantic and hopeful and sweet and sad and moving!
So please don't let my upcomping ramblings stop you from falling in love with this book.... here goes...
I felt that Mack kind of didn't deserve Frankie. He's always talking about hating his dad and not wanting to follow in his footsteps and still he never broke up with Torrie, in all these years??? WTF? His parents wanted him to be with her...he never loved her! I think that makes him such a weak person - a person I don't like all that much. He never went against his dad with anything important. I would've opened my mouth so much sooner!
Also, the way he sometimes talks, like with his neighbor and with us....also a bit non-alpha-male-ish. Maybe it's just me, or it's the new thing in romances.... Put a sexy alpha on the cover and make the guy in the book a weakling? BUT - I also loved him. He has so many alpha moments. So many funny moments and ridiculous moments and very moving moments. It's just that in some parts he comes across as this sad and weak guy without free will.
And then Frankie's poor live-in boyfriend Victor - who's a lot older than her. But I liked him. He's the grown-up in this book. In some moments while reading I wanted Victor to adopt Mack's son Jonah and live happily ever after with him, and forget all about everyone else! I felt very sorry for Jonah and Victor most of the time. They're the two suffering right in the middle of all that's happening!
For everyone scared of cheating in a book - nobody cheats here. Well, if you forget about the 8-year-long only-in-their-heads-and-hearts relationship that Frankie and Mack had going! ☺ And maybe one time where we're technically not really broken up yet with Victor, but Victor kinda knows it's over with them already...so it's not really cheating, because Francesca never really fell out of love with Mack.
Next, the weird plot-twist, no, not plot-twist...maybe more of a THING, that happens around the 80% mark??? I almost stopped reading. That was just adding absolutely unnecessary drama to the story.
Another thing that I noticed before in Penelope's books...she seems to be a pretty religious person. And I personally hate that like nothing else on this planet. I don't want people, authors, to push their 'faith' on me in my romances! Why does it have to be a catholic school? Why does Mack have to pray for help and bla bla and then an angel comes and saves the day??? EWWW NO!
And then the issues of Frankie and also Mack's son. They have some OCD-like mental trouble. And I felt that it was either talked about WAY TOO MUCH - or not enough, because we never go deeper into anything, it's all just so superficial. Weird somehow.
And the sex? Did anyone miss the sexiness of the book? I was so looking forward to seeing this hot single dad from the cover be this really sexy guy with lots of sexy scenes and ... I just expected a fun sexy romance. But it was more of a 'Lets-cry-into-my-old-neighbors-ear-that-I-was-such-a-weak-coward-for-eight-years-and-never-did-anything-to-get-her-back-and-now-I-only-want-to-win-her-back-because-my-ex-coincidentally-found-a-new-job-in-the-city-where-Frankie-lives-but-Im-still-not-fighting-back-against-whatever-daddy-says-bla-bla-bla' thing.
Oh, another tiny little thing - about the writing. I sometimes had the feeling an old guy from a victorian romance was talking. Please excuse my being here, but... ??? It was a bit weird. I know it's grammatically correct, but it sounds so old-fashioned!
As you can see I had a lot of problems with this story....
And all ^^^ that might not make it sound like it, but I really enjoyed this book. I laughed, cried and had allll the feels! It was an amazing second chance romance!!!
ANYWAY - please don't listen to me - I'm weird with the weirdest things... I loved the book!
MACK
DADDY was a beautiful & funny & moving second-chance lovestory!
