ARC received for an honest review

I am late to the J. Daniels party, and have only read a couple of her earlier books.  What I Need was my first I have read of the Alabama Summer series, but this has not affected my reading or enjoyment at all.

In fact it has made me eager to go back and read them all now

What I Need ... what I need is to find a hot cop like CJ Tully, as that man is all kinds of swoon worthy Southern goodness. If that "darlin'" sliding off his lips doesn't do something to you, I don't know if we can be friends any more!

Riley is just... well I feel for her, but at the same time I want to shake some sense into her.  I adore her (most of the time) but sometimes she frustrated me.
There was a character that I wanted to... let's put it nicely and say wish harm on. I liked that.  It gave the characters and story depth.

Not saying the story didn't already have that, but it just added that little bit more.

I loved the characters, the banter between them all.  Heck, I wish I was part of their squad #squadgoals

From the gorgeous cover (I am not a person who really worries about the covers, but this one really stands out) to the last page, I was completely and totally engrossed.  CJ and Riley complemented each other perfectly, and I needed to know where their story headed.

Now I am kicking myself for not reading this series earlier.  Can't wait to see what J. Daniels brings us next.
