Lola
My name is Lola Sexton, and I’m a sex addict.
Okay…that’s a lie.
Truth is, I’m a serial dater turned dating and relationship columnist for The San Francisco Times. My readers call me Sex. Sex Says.
I love my job.
I love my life.
And I hate Reed Luca.
**
Reed
My name is Reed Luca, and I’m a liar.
Ironically, that’s the truth.
I’m 31, and my occupation is…well, complicated.
My favorite kind of woman comes in all shapes and sizes, but always has a big brain.
I’ve never hated anything.
Lola Sexton hates me.
Luckily, it’s a thin line between love and hate, and with my help, pretty Lola will only be able to straddle that line for so long.
We're in San Francisco with 32 year old columnist Lola.
She's writing a dating/relationship/sex advice thingy in the SF Times.
SEX SAYS
She's a cute & quirky typical San Fran girl. She also kind of forgot to leave her teenage years behind her.
(Pigtails, rollerskates et cetera!☺)
She's a bit different. Good different.
And then we have 31 year old Reed.
He's also not your typical romance novel hero - aka the Billionaire CEO, the Navy SEAL, the doctor, the rockstar...
He's... nothing, really. Up until a short while ago he was mostly chased by cops. He's some kind of free spirit. He studies people. He lies. He's a bullshitter. A nice one. He's not a bad person. Not a criminal.
But he's different. So very different.
But people say he needs to grow up. That's why he's doing real jobs now. Ok, yes, he's not doing anything long-term, but he's doing things he loves. How can you not love painting the Golden Gate for 3 weeks? He loves his life and everything in it.
But once he reads Lola's column, he can't help himself, he has to respond. And he does that via youtube upload.
Let the games begin! Because Lola is MEGA ANGRY now. And Reed is MEGA ATTRACTED to mega-angry Lola ☺☺☺
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH LOLA & REED?
WILL THERE BE A HAPPILY EVER AFTER???
BUY THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

This was so different to Max Monroe's Billionaire Bad Boys series.
Sooo different. But we're still reminded of our darlings a few times here and there.
We like Lola immediately. And we also immediately fall for Reed as soon as he starts talking to us. But we don't yet know what to think of him. He's so different. So verrrry different. He talks A LOT. He sounds a bit like a philosophy professor when he talks to us. He's just so wordy! I sometimes had to stop my eyes from crossing or closing when he told us things, Lola too. It felt like I was back in school and had to listen to the teacher talking about greek history. ☺
It's really all a bit wordy and sometimes not-easy-to-understand.
A bit like... if the Billionaire Bad Boys series was highschool type of reading then this book is law school level! (No offense to the Billionaires, I LOOOOVED THEM!!!)
But at the same time we love Reed so much - we just have to listen to him. He knows things other people just don't see or recognize. He's kind of existing on a different frequency than the rest of us. He's living his version of the american dream. He's happy. He's also so horribly smart and ugh...I don't even know what more to say about him. He's an amazing character. I never met anyone like him before! And he does all that in a verrry sexy package!
And the sparks between those two. Jeeeeezus. They set the pages of my kindle on fire!
They fight and argue and yell and shriek and all through Lola doing all the shrieking, Reed just watches her and slowly falls in love for the first time in his life. So adorable!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It took me a while longer than other books, because it was just so full of words and philosophizing! But at the same time so very beautiful somehow with all those words and feelings and laughter and sexiness. But also a tiny little bit too much of a How-To kind of thing. Now idea what kind, but it felt a bit lecture-ish here and there. BUT I reallllly loved Reed and Lola. They were amazing characters. I might've enjoyed them a little bit more if they would've told us their story set in the Billionaire Bad Boy world. But they're also perfect right where they are.
Another thing - the guy on the cover, while reallllly hot, is not Reed. Reed needs to have a bit more of a smirk on his lips. He needs to look kinder and more approachable. This guy just looks bored and weird. Reed has never been bored! Not for a second in his life! He's a 'LIFE EXPERIENCER'! ☺
But don't let me scare you away with my weird opinions. Just read it. It's a beautiful story!
Can't wait to see what MM will have for us next!

ARC received for an honest review
I was wondering where the mysterious Max Monroe was going to take us now that the Billionaire Bad Boys series was finished. Sex Says was completely different but so good.
Lola and Reed's story is kind of like that movie The Ugly Truth with Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl. You know, they hate each other till they love each other kind of thing.
Sex Says is a smart, sexy, funny story that drew me in from the very beginning.
I freaking adored Reed right away. I liked that he wasn't the rock star, the billionaire, the alpha hot guy that we seem to always been reading (not that there is anything at all wrong with them!). He is a breath of fresh air. He is a free spirit, kinda struggling to find his place in life.
Lola - well, she is a spitfire. When she locks horns with Reed, sparks fly. Like, get ready for the hate sex sparks.
"He was my enemy. A really, really hot enemy"
I could keep on talking about what I loved about this book for days - but I won't!
The dynamic duo of Max Monroe really are the dynamic duo of romantic comedies at the moment, and it makes me wish that, whoever they are, they had started writing together long before they did.
Now I am impatiently waiting to see what they bring us next.
Tiny Tease Excerpt:
Normally, I needed a face-to-face encounter to read a person’s intentions, but something about what I knew about Lola from her column and the careful way she’d arranged her words when emailing me spoke to violence I wasn’t sure I’d ever witnessed.
Limb amputation, genital mutilation, and a healthy hock in order to leave a loogie behind on the tattered body.
Would meeting up with the woman behind the words lead to anything other than some kind of police involvement? Though, really, I kind of miss them…
No, no. I was supposed to be reformed.
But even the converted could find themselves in trouble when they least expected it. An impulsive video on YouTube that led to millions of views was proof of that. My inbox was now cluttered with interview requests from various media sources, as well as hate mail from angered Sex Says fans who didn’t appreciate my candid view regarding their favorite dating and relationship column.
I stared at the blinking cursor on the screen where I’d opened a return email and volleyed.
Red wire, blue wire, red wire, blue wire…
Goddamn, I couldn’t help myself.
Fuck it. I’ll cut both of them.

Stalking Max Monroe:
—Two established romance authors join forces to bring you more books and stuff. Together.—
Two men, two women, or, perhaps, one of each. Everyone is asking—Who is Max Monroe?
Hell, we could even be Colleen Hoover.
You decide.
Disclaimer: Yeah, we’re not Colleen Hoover.
