Hartwell, Delaware—the perfect place to get away
from it all, and find what you never knewcyou needed…
Bailey Hartwell has many reasons to feel content—her successful business, a close circle of friends, and her steady boyfriend…even if their romance feels staid after ten years without a serious commitment. The only challenge in her life comes in the form of sexy businessman Vaughn Tremaine. She thinks the ex-New Yorker acts superior and that he considers her a small-town nobody. But when Bailey’s blindsided by a betrayal, she’s shocked to discover Vaughn is actually a decent guy.
Vaughn admires Bailey’s free spirit, independence, and loyalty. As his passion for her has grown, his antagonism toward her has only worsened. Every little thing Bailey does seduces him. But when Vaughn’s painful emotional past makes him walk away in fear he will hurt her, it opens an old wound in Bailey, and she uncharacteristically retreats.
Once Vaughn begins to realize he’s made the biggest mistake of his life, he has no choice but to fight like he’s never fought before to convince Bailey that the love they’ve found together only comes around once in a lifetime.
We all remember Bailey and Vaughn. We already met and fell for them in the first book in this series.
Bailey runs the Boardwalk's old Inn and Vaughn opened a new luxury hotel on the other end of the Boardwalk three years ago.
And they were always coexisting in town. Not friends, not liking each other much, but okay with each other. Because both don't want the horrible Devlin family to buy out all business and destroy their beloved Boardwalk.
But there's also this huge attraction on both sides. But Bailey has been with Tom for ten years, and Vaughn doesn't do relationships.
But now things with Tom are changing drastically!!!!
Could now be the time for Bailey and Vaughn? They're old enough to finally settle down.
But they can't be within two feet of each other without arguing and hurting each other with their words....
What will happen with those two??
Will we get our happily ever after??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺
FINALLY!
Finally it's Bailey's & Vaughn's turn to get their Happily Ever After!!!
And it was perfect!
They fight and argue and throw hurtful words at each other. But that's all some huge foreplay for them!
The man I thought I might have been waiting for my whole life.
All this time he'd been standing right in front of me, wearing a suit and a sexy-ass smirk.
They fell for each other a long time ago, but they don't want to admit it to themselves.
Which is mega-adorable for us to read!
One might think at age 34 an 36 people would be grown-up enough to get their love-life straightend out....but those two. They're both running scared!
But of course their budding romance is not the only trouble in town. The Devlins are still trying to buy every business - and they don't shy away from using illegal and scary and idiotic tactics to do that.
Then there's business. Family. Exes. Friends.
Lots of troubles for our darlings to overcome until they can ride off into their happily ever after sunset.
I love that this is a more mature series. Those couples are all in their thirties .... we don't have any immature 21-year-olds running around. Even though I'm already waiting for little Joey's book once he's grown up enough!! ☺
I loved that we got to see all the other people in town again.
I complained about that a bit in the first book. We were introduced to so many people and so many future stories, which made that first book way too long. I still loved it, but I loved this one more. All those people are still in it, but now that we know and love them, we don't care that the book is pretty long - we don't ever want this series to end! ☺
I can't wait to see what the next book will bring us - there's Delilah & mysterious Michael and mega-shy Emery and former? bad-guy Jack Devlin!!!!
GIMMEE!!!!
