4.25 StarsNatalie Scott's life is simple with no strings attached. As a band photographer, she's made metal music her life, and life on tour means no relationships.
At least not ones that last and that's the way she likes it.
She only has one rule.
Don't date or otherwise screw around with the client.
But she never said anything about love.
Brent Andrews knows Natalie's rules.
And he's about to make sure he's an exception to them.
All of them.
Even ones she didn't know she had.
21 year old Natalie is pretty much living her dream life. She's working as a photographer for bands. She's going on tour with them to capture the exciting daily tour-life.
She's been doing that for three years now - but her stupid ex is getting in the way of her living happily ever after with her dream job. He was in the first band Nat ever worked for - and it didn't end on a good note. Not at all. He's a horrible guy!
But now Nat's back at work for a metal band called MAKESHIFT CHEMISTRY.
And she will never ever start anything with a guy in the band she's working for.
But she didn't know Brent when she made that promise to herself! ☺

Give me a rockstar book and I'm happy. This is and will always be my favorite kind of romance!
And this story was adorably rockstarish!
I loved the whole rockstar part of it. We're on tour - on the bus - on stage, signings, et cetera. Even though the music is a bit too metal-ish for my tastes! ☺
Also it's all a bit young for this old book blogger. I kind of had the feeling those kids were only 16 the way they talk and act. Even the writing style felt a bit like the diary of a 15-year-old fangirl.
BUT - I still loved it. The author calls it a COMING OF AGE romance and like I said - as long as it's a rockstar romance - I can't not love it!
We have some drama courtesy of stolen songs and exes and fear....
But we also have some adorably cute and funny moments with adorable and cute bandmembers.
We have some moving moments, some romantic moments - even though the sexiness is NOT enough for a rockstar romance! Just my humble opinion. But it's Cassandra's book, and if she likes to fade to black once the undressing starts, it's totally her right to do so. ☺
I liked the story. It was rockstarish. It was adorable and funny with some angsty drama. Some tears. Some growing up being done. Some futures being mapped out.
Great Coming of Age Romance!
BEHIND THE LENS was an adorable coming of age rockstar romance! Run to your nearest amazon for your own ride in that tourbus!!!!
If I had to name some things I didn't like... As I mentioned before, the age thing. I'm a bit old for such books. And I don't know if it's because of their age, but I was a bit disappointed that we didn't have any SEX in here. We fade to black before the only sex happens. I don't like books - rockstar books - without any sexy scenes. It was still adorably romantic but I missed it.
The writing was a bit weird here and there. Some expressions bothered me a bit after reading them 20 times. Like HE LICKED THE INSIDE OF HIS CHEEK - weird things like that. Too often.
Also, Nat is a photographer. Sky in the first book was one too. I would've loved to have that changed a bit. I would've wanted Nat to be a writer, because a huge part of this story is about her lyrics and the songs she writes. Why couldn't she have been a writer for Rolling Stone? Writing an inside piece about life on tour? Just my opinion, but I think it would've fit better.
BUT - other than that I really enjoyed the book. I finished it in one day!
4.25 Stars - most of those stars are for the rockstarness of the book ☺
