For more than a year, Tanner West has tried to shake his feelings for his long time best friend, Paisley Bronson. She was the perfect girl to fit the lyrics in all his favorite songs the girl he had always wanted. When she fell in love with another man before Tanner had the chance to tell her how he felt, he was left with no resolve to find love again. Burying himself in school and easy girls has become his new lifestyle, but when Kellee Brooks shows up at his favorite bar, he begins to think there may be another verse to his song, after all.

Kellee Brooks moved to New York City for one thing: escape. Growing up in a small town where her entire life was planned out for her, shes desperate to break free and find herself without following the same path as her mom. Kellee thought working at the local dive bar would mean more money for school, but when she meets the smoldering, scarred honey eyes of Tanner West, she finds theres much more hiding in the smoky building than just a few tips.

With Paisley still haunting Tanner and Kellee vowing to save anyone the trouble of loving her, will the pain and fear keep them apart or will they find a way to rewrite their song together?

Break free with this heartbreaking story of letting go and letting love in.

Song Chaser carries on where Tag Chaser left off, and though Song Chaser could be read as a standalone, you would love Tag Chaser.

Tanner West is heartbroken.  The girl he has always loved has moved on and now he is left to pick up the pieces.  Right from the start we are drawn into the musings of Tanner's drunken, depressed mind.  Work and drink, that is all he has to try and get over the one that got away, Paisley.

He is such a hot mess.  I could just feel his heartbreak leap off the pages.  I just wanted to reach in and give him a great big hug.  We have all had that one person, that unrequited love that has just completely shattered us, so we should all have an inkling of how he is feeling.

Kellee is such a strong character.  Struggling student, working her arse off, family issues.  And yet she still rocks it.  You just want to cheer her on as she gets through the day to day.

I love the instant chemistry between Tanner and Kellie.  No insta-love here - yay!! Sure, there is insta-lust but who doesn't love a bit of that!  I love that as much as they know the other is bad for them, is not what the other one needs, they can't fight the attraction.

There were times I just wanted to slap some sense into Tanner, get his head and his heart working towards the same goal.  I loved his quick, witty, dirty banter with Kellee, and that she could give as good as she could take.

But I really do have to say, that Song Chaser was ALLLL about Tanner for me.  Who could help but fall in love with him/

There are some great secondary characters.  Kellee's roommate Trista is a great friend, and I loved that she helped Kellee push through all the "feels" she was going through.  Tanner's mum and dad are fantastic, the kind of parents we all would love to have.

You know another thing I loved about this book?  Yes, while there is plenty of  heartbreak, it is not all just angst, angst, angst.  Maybe because the characters are a little older and a bit more together, I don't know what it was but I liked it.

This is the second of Ms Steiner's books I have read, and I have thoroughly enjoyed both in the Chaser series.   I hope there will be more to come, if not I will look out for her next works

My heart feels like its about to beat right out of my chest. Tanner is looking at me like hes not good enough to touch me and like he cant keep his fucking hands off me all at the same time. I inhale deep, my breath shaky as I try to find the words to say. I want to talk about it more about what she is to him, about when shes coming and what Im going to have to deal with but right now all I can think about is how his hands feel on my waist, and how I wish he would touch every inch of my body with those hands.

Kiss me, I breathe.

Tanner doesnt waste another second. His lips find mine, soft and gentle at first, but then a fire consumes us both and Im biting his neck as he lifts me from my chair. He kisses down my collarbone and then back up to my ear, sending chills cascading down my arms and legs. I moan softly, running my fingers through his hair and tugging a little as I pull his lips back to mine. He slides his tongue between my lips and takes my mouth, deepening the kiss as his hands explore my body.

How long until dinner? he pants between kisses.

Maybe twenty minutes.

Thatll do, he replies, carrying me to the couch.

Tanners hands are hungry as he positions himself on top of me, pulling the straps of my tank top down to kiss my shoulders. He nips and sucks softly, trailing a line from my shoulders, to my neck, across my collar bone, and back again. Slowly, he kisses a little lower, sucking at the swell just above the hem of my top. I inhale sharply, my fingers gripping his hair.

You taste so sweet, he mumbles against my skin, lighting it on fire. He lifts my shirt and slowly kisses down my stomach, stopping just above the hem of my shorts. He blazes a trail of fire with his tongue from one hip to the other, working the buttons and zipper until he has my shorts loose enough to pull down my shaking legs and throw across the room. He smiles up at me, his sexy half grin silently killing me, and then he completely takes my breath away because he pulls my panties off with his teeth.

With. His. Teeth.

Suddenly, my heart is beating in my throat. Im not a virgin, but Im definitely no where near as experienced as Tanner, no matter how cocky my façade may be. My legs are shaking uncontrollably and I feel it start to move up to my hands. Tanner stops kissing my thighs and looks up at me, concern laden on his face.

Are you okay? he asks, moving to position himself on top of me again. He brushes the hair from my face and pulls my shaking hand to his lips, kissing my fingers softly as he waits for me to reply.

I nod, though not confidently. I hate admitting this to you, but Im not that experienced.

He smiles devilishly, his eyes lighting the fire in my stomach again. You think I dont know that? Why do you think Im going so slow?

I let out of a puff of air, This is slow?

His grin grows wider, Trust me if I had it my way, your ankles would have been on my shoulders the first night I saw you.

Who inspired you to start writing?

My mom, definitely. She's actually very into reading like I am and is a great writer herself. I hope to one day convince her to write a novel, too. She inspired me when I was very young and encouraged me to pursue my love of writing, no matter what. Everything I've written from awful love poems in high school (yuck!) to decent pieces in college, she has always been there for me.

Why romance?

Great question! I have no idea. I always pictured myself writing non-fiction or nothing at all, but one of my final capstone courses in college was an advanced fiction course that really turned me on to the possibilities of creating a story. Why romance specifically? Well, we could blame it on my husband for showing me love so early in life, but it's probably more Disney's fault than anyone else's. I'm a girl, I love to love, what could be better than romance writing?

How do you write your novels?

Sporadically and without any structure at all. Sometimes I'll be driving and I'll whip out my phone and record something to write down later. Sometimes I'll write a scene and sometimes I'll just write about my character to get to know them better. Eventually, I sit down and map everything out so that I don't forget anything (blonde moments are a habit for me) and then I slowly start piecing it all together. It makes sense to me, but if I told any of my professors this they might kill me lol.

When did you know you wanted to write a novel?

Honestly, it hit me out of the blue. I got the idea for Tag Chaser when I was in the shower and I just couldn't shake it. I was dreaming about the characters, writing random scenes in my head, and just thinking about them constantly. I decided it was a sign to stop being so scared of failure and just write it. The way I see it, the worst thing that could happen is no one likes it - and in that case it will still be loved by me and that's what matters.

Why should readers pick up Tag Chaser?

Tag Chaser is a unique story that I think hasn’t been told yet. Often times we fall in love with characters who are so perfect, either individually or for each other. Tag Chaser is about exploring our imperfections and learning not to fight that chemistry that sometimes we just feel, whether it’s easy or not. I think anyone who reads Tag Chaser will laugh and love, and those are both two very beautiful things.

Kandi Steiner is a Creative Writing and Advertising/Public Relations graduate from the University of Central Florida living in Tampa with her husband. Kandi works full time as a social media specialist, but also works part time as a Zumba fitness instructor and blackjack dealer.

Kandi started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her
freedom of press. She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic (like most girls brought up on Disney movies).

When Kandi isnt working or writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, talking with her extremely vocal cat, and spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys beach days, movie marathons, live music, craft beer and sweet wine not necessarily in that order.
