Blog Tour and Giveaway - Spellbound by Sylvia Day

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day comes a story of the ultimate seduction. . . .
Max Westin. Sex incarnate. She could smell it, feel it with his proximity. Everything about him was a little rough, a little gritty. He was a primitive creature. Just like her.
He held her hand a little too long, his gaze, under thick lashes, clearly stating his intention to have her. To tame her. . . .
Her name, just one word, but spoken with such possession she could almost feel the collar around her neck.
"It's in your nature," he murmured. "The desire to be taken."
In this game of cat and mouse, everything is an illusion, but the passion is as real as it gets. . . .

Let me preface this by saying that I love Sylvia Day's work and will keep reading it.

This being said, Spellbound disappointed me. The premise of the story was good and attracted me to read it, but I don't know what it is, I just couldn't get into it.  It is an anthology of short stories that roll into each other, and I have to say, for most of the first part I was a all
Spellbound felt like it started a quarter into the story, and we missed all the lead up so it took me a while to get my head around who was who and what was what.

I am also hot a huuuuge fan of paranormal books, but this was not the problem I had with it either, as I have read other Sylvia Day books with a paranormal bent and have really enjoyed them.

As usual, the sex scenes in Spellbound are hot - though don't really think a cat is a very submissive creature (this will make sense when your read it!).  Ms Day is the queen of writing a steamy sex scene, but even these I felt were a little overdone.

Spellbound also felt a bit rushed.  One minute Victoria is hellbent on revenge, the next she is madly in love with the man sent to hunt her down.  Then we were years down the track - hang on, when did that happen?  It's at blink and you'll miss it speed!

I never thought I would say this, but I had a bit of a struggle to get through to the end of Spellbound  :-(  (don't shoot me, this is just my opinion, you might love love love it!!).
