Blog Tour ~~ Veiled Innocence by Ella Frank

Tick, tick, tock.

Time.

Thats all I have now.

A small room, a photograph, and time.

They want me to trust them and confess my sins.

They told me they wouldn't judge methey lied.

I thought we could convince the world that this wasn't a crime.

We were wrong.

Time doesn't stand still.

The clock keeps ticking, the world is unconvinced, and now

Now he is gone.

ARC received for an honest review

When I first read the synopsis for Veiled Innocence, I was not sure what I was going to be reading, but I was intrigued.

And wow, Ella Frank has knocked this one out of the park!

Grayson McKendrick and Addison Lancaster's relationship is taboo.  There are plenty of books out there with a student/teacher relationship, but nothing I have read compares to Veiled Innocence.
I am still in a bit of a book hangover after reading this book, even though it has been a couple of weeks since I finished it.  It is beautifully written, and feels a bit poetic with the references to Cupid and the Psyche, Anne Boleyn.  The way the characters relate and compare themselves to these historical and mythical figures draws you right into their world.

Addy and Grayson's relationship just feels perfect.  Though not the societal norm due to the illicit nature and their age differences, it just feels right.  The heart wants what the heart wants, consequences be damned.

He'd calmed me when no one else could.
He'd saved me from myself.
If only they knew the truth...
But no one is listening, and his time is already up.
Tick, tick, tock.
The sexual tension between the pair is off the charts!!  From the minute they first see each other the sparks fly.

I love Grayson's dirty mouth.  Man, where were the teachers like him when I was at school?!?!?!  And Addy is as the title says.  On the outside she is all purity and innocence, underneath it all she is all heat and sexuality.

The sexy times - hot hot hot!!  Grayson and Addy really know how to burn up the sheets!

I can't really say that I liked any of the secondary characters at all!!  Brandon and Jessica are just douchebags!  And her parents....pfff yeah they don't really deserve to have that title.  Though they were pretty worthless as people, they all added something to Addy's story.

EXCERPT
I couldnt believe shed followed me home.

I was sitting in my truck with my hands wrapped around the steering wheel. I could see her in the rearview mirror, and my heart pounded in my chest as I thought about my next move.

Id purposely waited to leave until she had gone home. It had been quite the wait, but I couldnt afford to put myself within close quarters of this girl.

She was undisciplined and clearly had never heard the word no in her life. She wanted things she couldnt have, and I needed to make that much clearer than in our previous conversations.
I could see the hood of her car peeking out from behind one of the neighbors hedges and wished I could forget she was there, but this time she had crossed too many lines. She needed to know that this behavior could not continue.

Pushing open my truck door, I climbed out and locked it before walking down the drive. I strode purposefully along the sidewalk and tried to think of exactly what I was going to say to this student of mine.

Please stop following me? Please stop hitting on me?

They both sounded ridiculous, and I realized that at this point the word please needed to be thrown right out the fucking window.

Polite wasnt going to work with Addison Lancaster. It was time to get serious, maybe even mean, because this girl had the ability to destroy me.

Ella Frank takes us on a journey full of twists and turns, the reader is never quite sure where things are going to go next.  We can see that Addy and Grayson are perfect for each other, but will they be able to get to their HEA?

Nope, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.

And if you don't have this in your head at sometime during your time reading, I will be surprised!!!
