Cunning. Sex. Pure nerve. Only this potent threesome can raise him to his rightful place as ruler of Manhattan's kink kingdom.
Bouncing from bed to bed on the Upper East Side—handsomely paid in both bills and blackmail fodder—Kingsley Edge is brilliant, beautiful and utterly debauched. No carnal act or chemical compound can relieve his self-destructive apathy—only Søren, the one person he loves without limit or regret. A man he can never have, but in whose hands Kingsley is reborn to attain even greater heights of sin. He plans to open the ultimate BDSM club: a dungeon playground for New York's A-list that'll change the scene forever.
The club becomes Kingsley's obsession—and he's enlisted some tough-as-nails help. His new assistant Sam is smart, secretive and totally immune to seduction (by men, at least). She and Kingsley make a wicked team. Still, their combined—and considerable—expertise in domination can't subdue the man who would kill their dream. The enigmatic Reverend Fuller won't rest until King's dream is destroyed. It's one man's sacred mission against another's…
It's 2013 and Kingsley has things to do in London.
He has something to tell Grace and Zachary. About the biological father of their son...about what they might be facing should he take after his father in certain aspects. A story about the whys and whats and hows of the lives of Kingsley and his Priest....
But what this 'story' is really about he won't be able to say until he comes to the end of the story...
*mysterious* ☺
"I have something to tell you. A story. And I can't tell you why I'm telling you the story until after the story."
Then, on this dark and cold night in London - in front of the fireplace with a glass of his son's finest wine, and with Grace listening, he starts telling a story.......
New York - March 1993.
Kingsley is living a pretty good life. He's not really happy - but he has enough money, enough contacts, enough willing women and men to 'spend time with' ☺ and he is the proud owner of a strip club: MÖBIUS.
He bought the club with some of the millions that have been left in his bank account after he woke up in the hospital in France from almost dying of a gunshot wound. Søren left him 30 Million Dollars when he visited him in the hospital - Kingsley didn't really see him or talk to him, he was too out of it - he thought he only dreamt that the man he has loved all his live - and hadn't seen for 10 years - was at his bedside.
Now Kingsley is running his own strip club - a strip club with a little special twist:
In the back of the establishment there are rooms. Rooms where men can go to live out their desires. Gay men who are officially married with kids - or who, for whatever reason, can't live out their livestyles openly.
Kingsley created a kind of haven for those men.
"Haven't you ever gotten bored and bought a strip-club?"
"No..."
"In my defense," Kingsley said, "it was on sale."
Then one day Søren shows up at his town-house.
Kingsley can't believe what he sees.
This beautiful man that he has missed every single day for more than ten years is back - and he's a priest!!! o.O
No...not that. Anything but that. Whatever hope had been in Kingsley's heart a second earlier shattered and died like the last stray note of a symphony. ..... "Mon Dieu...."
And the priest asks for help. He needs King to use his contacts to get someone out of jail. And not just someone - Eleanor! Søren finally found this one special girl that they were dreaming about when they were still in school.
Even though he's a bit jealous, King agrees to help - but only if the Priest promises to never leave again!
But the priest wouldn't be the priest if he wouldn't try to help wherever help is needed - even if it's not really wanted ☺
That's how Kingsley comes up with an idea how to make something of his life and at the same time fulfill a promise he made years ago....
He will build the biggest and best and most notorious BDSM club the world has ever seen! A safe haven for people like Søren and himself... his very own Kingdom....
But some powerful politicians and extremist religious people might stand in the way of Kingsley's dream....
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH KINGSLEY & SøREN?
HOW WILL KINGSLEY'S STORY END?
WILL EVERYBODY DIE AT THE END?
WILL THERE BE A HORRIBLE CLIFFHANGER?
Nope - I'm not telling you anything!!! ☺

I LOOOOVED "THE KING"!!!!
I was soooo shocked to find THE KING on my kindle weeeeks before the official release - I might have broken out into a spontaneous Carton-Banks-Dance!!!
I couldn't wait to get started ... I missed Nora, Søren and Kingsley.
Even though I'm horribly anti-religious - I'm a tiiiiiny bit of a groupie ☺
"You're friends with a priest?"
"Trust me, no one is more shocked by that than I am."
And of course - like with all the previous books in the Original Sinners Series, this book did not disappoint for one single second!!!!!
For me a book can't be bad when I start crying and laughing and throwing my kindle through the room before we even reach the 7% mark!
Kingsley is sooo cute and funny and adorable and French!!! ☺
Ugh - I never wanted this book to end. I think it took me 3 or 4 days to read it - I always found other stuff to do - to avoid getting to THE END of The King ☺
My house has never been so clean ☺☺☺
I loved that we see what Kingsley really feels - how much he's always loved Søren and how sad it is that he always had this little hope/dream in the back of his mind, that one day - he and Søren - and the perfect girl - would have the perfect life together... That was kind of my dream too for the three of them... But I'm totally ok with how things turned out for them.
I loved the moments when it was only The King and The Priest in a room, having a conversation.
Ugh - I loved that - I 'awwwwwwed' all through those scenes. You know? Like when you see a toddler playing with a baby pig? Or a hot man with no shirt holding a tiny baby in his hands? Those kinds of awwwww moments. I had them NON-STOP in this book.
Nora is not really in this story - she only has two very short scenes in this book and is only talked about a few times. But - and I'm sooo ashamed to admit it - I didn't really miss her. Oy. I know - I really love her - but I was sooo glad that Kingsley has this time with Søren in this book, without everything being about Nora's problems. Well - it all starts with Nora getting arrested - but still - I was glad it was mostly about the King and the Priest. And Sam - hm - Sam - Sam is a lot like Nora - she was the Nora in this book - and I really liked this new character.....
IF YOU'VE LOVED THE SINNERS THROUGH THE LAST 5 BOOKS - YOU WILL DEFINITELY FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM ALL OVER AGAIN NOW! ☺
♥ WHAT AN AMAAAAAAAAZING BOOK ♥
☺
