• Standalone Hockey Romance
Jett Olsson isn’t looking for anything serious and she’s not
looking for anything at all, so why does it seem so hard to keep it
professional?
I love my life—the thrill of
being on the ice as part of the Arizona Vengeance, the rush of winning, the
adoration of the fans. And if that adoration means I don’t have to spend the night alone, well even better. I’m content being single and always ready to mingle.
But the day Emory Holland walks into a Vengeance team meeting
my attention is caught like never before. I can tell right away she’s full of
smarts and sass, and the fact that she’s hot as hell sure doesn’t hurt either.
She immediately shuts down my advances, so I opt for the road less traveled—straight to the friend zone.
My approach works like a charm, and when she invites me into
her bed for a no-strings, friends-with-benefits arrangement, I vow to give her
everything I have. She’s been hurt before, and if I’m able to help her heal
while giving her a spectacularly satisfying time *pats self on back*,
then I’ll be happy.
Or at least that’s the lie I keep telling myself as the time ticks down on the final buzzer of our “relationship”. Now the real question is, can I score the winning goal in a game neither of us realized we were playing?
But she won't be able to resist Jett for long.
He's a young hockey player - he's not ready to settle down - especially not with a single mom!
Another adorable and sexy little story in this great hockey series.
I really enjoyed reading it.
It was really cute and fun and sexy. But also - and now I'm just quoting my review for the previous Vengeance book: it was a bit meh. It's just the same stuff book after book. I like reading them, but it's never anything new. It's like we've read the exact same book 100 times before - and at least 25 of those 100 were hockey books by Sawyer Bennett. I think there should be a law against book series going higher than book 3 or 5. You just can't invent anything new in such a world.
But ...also... we love those worlds and we enjoy reading these books and seeing all the other players and wives again.
Don't worry, it was a cute romance - I liked reading it! You will like it. But I think I need to read something different now. Like a psycho-thriller-rock-star-m-m-f-mΓ©nage with a happy end. Is there such a thing? Let me know!π€£
Also ... I really need Riggs and Baden's books asap!
Can we also please get a Sawyer Bennett Hockey Netflix series??
As with every Sawyer book ... I had some problems with the writing... THIS TIME IT WASN'T ALL THAT BAD ...but I still noticed at least 8!
It's Sawyer's and my THING ☺ It's only me who has those problems with her writing. So please don't be worried or just scroll down and don't read the following...
I have a HUGE AS problem! ☺ You know the AS's I'm talking about? The AS that could/should be exchanged for a SINCE or a BECAUSE or just a comma/dot/pause/whatever.☺ It's a British and or legal thing (if it's a thing at all!) and it doesn't have anything to do in an American book by an American author. I really don't want to insult Sawyer. I love her books, but ... please stop doing it. But pfff who am I to tell her what to do, so just forget I said anything! It doesn't stop her books from being great!
ARC received from author for an honest review
