A federal clerkship--a job he desperately needs--awaits him after graduation, but only if he passes the Bar Exam. Sawyer doesn’t have the time or patience for the capricious

We already met Darlene in The Butterfly Project. She was the hero's best friend and had some huge addiction problems.
But now she's ready to start a new life.
She's moving from New York to San Francisco to work as a massage therapist and to mayyybe start dancing again.
She moves in on the third floor of one of those adorable Victorian houses.
And there she meets Sawyer and Olivia.

His crazy life started ten months ago - when an ex hook-up left a 3-month old baby girl on his doorstep.
Now everything he does and dreams of is for Livvie.
Enter Darlene.
He wasn't expecting someone like her. Not now - maybe not ever.
He's not sure how to deal with all these new feelings. He doesn't have time for more than school and Olivia.

Maybe ....

This book was just beautiful.
I already started crying in the prologue! And I might have cried a lot towards the end - and in the middle and here and there ;)
But don't worry, it's not only this totally sad and moving story.
There are all those very sad and moving parts of course. But the relationship part is an adorable new adult love story.

I just loved everything about this book!
From the amazingly beautiful locations to all the characters.
Darlene. Such a sweet and good person. Who is trying to live a better life from now on. She's had so many problems in her past - she deserves for something amazing to happen to her.
Sawyer. Such a smart guy. A little emotionally challenged - maybe because his brain never stops taking mental pictures of everything. He had everything planned out perfectly. School. His amazing job. Hanging out with friends at the weekends. But now here's this little girl who means everything to him. But he still needs to get this job - he needs money and security to raise his daughter!
Olivia. The most adorable baby ever. She's so smart. She's got that from her photographic-memory-dad! Too cute.
And then we have all those supporting characters. Like Becks and Zelda from book #1. Sawyer's babysitter - downstairs neighbor Elena. Darlene's sponsor Max. Sawyer's best friend Jackson and his mom Henrietta.
All amazing people!

I loved every second of this story.
Sawyer, Olivia and Darlene have a long way to go until they'll get to that Happy End.
But the reader has an amazing time watching them fight for it!!!

Amazing story. Amazing characters. Amazing locations.
Lots of emotion, adorableness, excitement, fun, sadness, love, fear, pain, romance, hope ... Perfect! ☺

If I had to find something I didn't love-love... maybe a tiny little thing - I'll write it in white - I don't want to spoil anything - just drag your finger or mouse across the following:
I kind of expected a little bit more sexiness. There's just one sex scene towards the end and I wanted a tiny little bit more Sawyer & Darlene time... It wasn't bad the way it was - and it was completely understandable why they didn't jump into bed the minute they met, but I still wanted more. ☺

FOREVER RIGHT NOW was such an amazingly beautiful love story! Please run to your nearest amazon for your own Sawyer, because this one is MINE! MIIIIINNNEEEEE!!!!  !!

"Who are you?" he demanded rudely, shifting the diaper bag higher on his shoulder while hoisting his little girl in his other arm. He was six feet of hotness in a rumpled suit, glaring at me with suspicion in his dark eyes.

"I...I'm your new neighbor?" It sounded more like a question; as if I needed this guy's permission to live. I straightened to my full height. "I just moved in upstairs. I'm a dancer. Well, I was. Had to take some time off but I'm going to get back into it soon...ish." I put on my friendliest smile. "I'm a massage therapist now. Just got my license and..."

My words died under Sawyer's withering stare.

"A dancer. Fantastic," he said bitterly. "Just what I always wanted. Someone leaping and thumping above me, waking my kid up and disturbing my studies at all hours of the night."

I planted my hands on my hips. "I can't dance in a dinky apartment, and besides..."

Words failed me again as the sharp planes and hard angles of Sawyer's face melted when his daughter--I guessed her to be about a year old--suddenly clapped her small hand over his chin. Sawyer's hard gaze softened, and his broad mouth turned up in a smile--a beautiful smile I was sure only his little girl ever got to see, and so full of love that for a moment I could hardly breathe.

Emma Scott writes romances with flawed characters, characters with artistic hearts: builders, poets, and writers of various makes and models. Emma loves to write book lovers; those who have found refuge, companionship, and escape in books, much as we all do in real life. She digs realism, honesty, authenticity in storytelling. She also loves to write about enduring love, soul-deep love, in as real a setting as possible, but with big smooshy HEAs. Emma believes in diversity, open-mindedness, and inclusion. She adores sweetness mixed with steam, love conquering all, and above all, hope. Love always wins.
