✿ The Rosewood Hunt ✿ Mackenzie Read ✿

Copy received from Harper Collins Australia for an honest review

A few chapters into this book, I said to myself "this has The Inheritence Games vibes", and as I loved The Inheritance Games, I was all in for The Rosewood Hunt.

Lily Rosewood's life is upended when her grandmother dies and the family fortune is found to be missing.

With her Scooby Gang of family and friends, she follows the clues to find out what happened.

I guessed pretty early on who the bad guys in the tale are, so it was just a matter of time till I found out how that part would play out.

Whilst i enjoyed the story, I did find that it was lacking a bi of oomph, a bit of drama and action that, to me at least, I felt it needed.

I liked the friendships, old and new that grew amongst Lily and her friends, and was glad of the way some of the relationships blossomed and grew.

i did enjoy this enough that I would read more by this debut author in the future.

๐ŸŒถ One Dirty Night ๐ŸŒถ Pepper Winters ๐ŸŒถ

A super steamy standalone rated F for filthy...

“If you came here to get mauled, Ella…I’m very willing to bite.”

The night of my birthday looked as boring as the rest of my life. Sitting on my own, trying to avoid my insanely gorgeous but horribly mean flatmate, all while waiting for him to leave so I could have a party for one…if you know what I mean.

But that was before I almost crashed on the way home when a big top rolled into town. Before I locked eyes with the hottest guy I’d ever seen swinging a sledgehammer in the rain. Before I read the flyer promoting the newly erected circus. A circus that wasn’t the usual garish carnival…oh, no…this one was most definitely not for children.

Not unless you counted bondage, fantasies, and one dirty night full of heinously deviant fun.

Only problem was…my flatmate decided to get his freak on too. He saw me as I agreed to spend the night with the owner of said depraved circus…and he made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.

Both.
Together.

I get to be owned by two men, not just one.
I get to live out my wildest fantasies and teach Nicholas Davis a lesson for all those stony scowls and disdainful glances he’s given me.

He can have me for one night.
He can make me crawl, beg, and take me in any way he chooses.
But he has to share.
That is his penance.
And I mean to make him suffer…

Tropes: HIGH, HIGH spice. (We’re talking volcano heat). Standalone. Dirty. Kinky. BDSM. HEA. MFM one scene. MF romance after. Longing. Kink. Master/Sub. Punishments. Praise. Toys. Fall Hard. Dirty Men. Dirty Talk. Dirty Deeds. Forced proximity. Enemies to Lovers. Explosive Chemistry. Quiet on the Outside absolutely Depraved on the Inside. And rated F for Filthy, Filthy…

Well, it has been a while since I have read a Pepper Winters book, and what a hot and spicy way to go back to her stories.

I am not a huge fan of sex clubs/MFM/why choose stories, but Ella, Nick and Hudson will have you enthralled with what happens in the big top.

I did get frustrated with Nick a lot of the time.  Just gah, dude!

I don't want to say too much, as I feel you just need to dive right in with One Dirty Night, but I will say don't read it in public hahah

❤ Talk To The Heart (Rose Hill #3) ❤ Rachael Johns ❤

 Releasing 1st November 2023

How hard can it be to resist temptation?

Adeline Walsh never thought she would give up her worldly possessions - her iPhone, her make-up and even her successful life as a dog breeder - to join a convent on the other side of the country. But after the discovery of a shocking family secret she feels called to a life of poverty, chastity and obedience.

Life at the Smallton convent is nothing like Adeline expected. The other sisters quickly become like family and Adeline feels like she's found her place in the world. Until she meets Holden Campbell, a man as tempting as the devil himself.

Due to a devastating accident in his past, Holden is not interested in any relationship or even a friendship with Adeline, but when their dogs keep bringing them together, he reluctantly accepts her help to organise a charity event.

An accidental kiss tests both their resolves, but they are determined to fight the attraction raging between them. Holden doesn't believe in love and Adeline isn't going to risk everything she's just found.

Can they resist each other while continuing to work on a cause they both passionately believe in? An emotional and uplifting story about overcoming your past from bestselling author Rachael Johns.

A bike riding, lumberjack looking, Captain Von Trapp-esque foster dad and a nun/sister-to-be? Small town Sound Of Music?

That is what Rachael Johns has given us with Talk To The Heart.

Now, I will admit that I didn't think our leading lady Adeline could have been redeemed after remembering what she did in the earlier books (which you do not have to have read), however I should never question where Ms Johns takes her characters.

Holden and Adeline have sparks and attraction for days, and both have their reasons to ignore the attractions - but I am so glad they didn't.

The more I read, the more I wanted to hug Adeline (whoda thunkit?). Yes, she was an absolute beech in the earlier books, but now I know her more, I understand her.  Don't condone what she did, but her personal growth and healing really shines through.

And Holden? Well,I feel that he is an absolutel delight that you need to just dive in and get to know for yourself.

Beautiful storytelling, wonderful characters, and plenty of emotions, this is a new favourite by Ms Johns for me.

Release date: 25th October 2023

Carter Maxwell knows he’s a screwup. Four teams in three seasons tells the story, as much as he wishes it didn’t.

But one rule hasn’t don’t seduce your agent-appointed c*ckblocker.

Ian Parker agrees to live with Carter and keep him on the straight and narrow for one simple Alec, the agent in charge of cleaning up Carter’s reputation, has promised him something Ian wants very, very badly.

Even more badly than Carter naked above him and below him and next to him.

A chance for Ian to become an agent.

But Ian didn’t take into account just how persuasive Carter is—or just how desperately he desires to be persuaded. Or how, while spending time with Carter, they’ll somehow stumble into a fake relationship that begins to feel all too real.

It doesn’t matter that Carter’s never fallen in love or that he’s never been in a real relationship. It doesn’t matter that Ian’s risking his future as an agent.

I know absolutely nothing about the NFL (except games take what it seems like a week to finish!), however I am loving this series by Beth Bolden.

I will admit, the premise of this, with a "sober companion" is one that I have not read before, but I really liked it being something so completely different to what we get in books.

I adore Carter and Ian.  I just want to give Carter a big hug, tell him he is doing great. He has been in the background of things inthe previous books, but now is is time to shine - and shine he does.

I adored how Ian tries to deny Carter, how he knows what a bad idea it would be, but how he - eventually - goes for it anyway.

And most of all, I loved how supportive the rest of the Condors are of Carter. They could have discarded him and traded him like so many other teams have, but they believe in him and his talents, and you can see how great that makes Carter feel, how it makes him strive to do better.

And Carter was not the kind of man I thought he would be.  I went in thinking he was just going to be this cocky jerk who would not take no for an answer, would badger Ian until he got his way, and I was so glad that was not the route Ms Bolden took him on.

Now I really, really need to know more about Deacon and Mr G!

The perfect rom-com to sink your teeth into!

Hazy Florence is on track to graduate top of her class but she's determined to have a little fun along the way.

As soon as she lays eyes on her mysterious and swoony new neighbour - Godric Hawthorn - Hazy knows he is just what she needs and they instantly fall for each other.

But this is no quintessential college romance. Godric has a secret . . . he's a vampire.

Dating a vampire comes with its own messy complications. And then there's Hazy's jealous ex-boyfriend who's dangerously close to the truth.

Can Hazy protect her boyfriend's blood-sucking secret?

Or could there be more at stake then Hazy and Godric's hearts?

Hazy + Godrick

We're in our last year of college.
Hazy is living in a house with her two besties. And Godrick just moved into the old abandoned house in the neighborhood with his two brothers.
It's insta attraction between Hazy and Godrick.
But there's also Hazy's idiot ex Blaine. He wants her back.
And there's obviously the tiny little fact that Godrick is a Vampire.
And Blaine is a reporter for the college newspaper and he's very suspicious of things!

Adorable!

I really liked reading this.
I'm not the biggest paranormal romance fan. But if it has to be paranormal - it better be a Vampire!
This was a cute college romance. Funny, sparky, adorable, a little mysterious and exciting.
The characters were a tiny bit old for my tastes. Somewhere between 15 and 19 would've been much better. All that partying and talking about boys non-stop didn't really fit with a collegey person who wants to become a doctor. The ages just felt weird to me. At least in the first half of the book.
The story was cute but it was also a bit slow. The way she finds out about Godrick was weird and a bit ridiculous and too late into the book - a book that is called My boyfriend is a Vampire! It should've been either a series, so that we'll get much more of Godrick and Hazy or a few repeating lines and scenes should've been cut to make it faster and more interesting.
For a Vampire Rom-Com there wasn't enough Vampire stuff and not enough Comedy. It has both but it could've been much more. And a bit less of the partying and Blaine drama.
But I still liked reading it. It got better after 50%!
It was a cute college thingy and we love those!
I mean - there's not much new stuff you could invent when it comes to romances and vampires.
And I liked Godrick and Hazel and the friends and brothers are great too. There's potential for a lot more from all these people!

MY BOYFRIEND IS A VAMPIRE was a cute and funny and collegy and vampirey New Adult Love Story! I really liked it!
