Iris Walsh saw her twin sister, Piper, get kidnapped—so why does no one believe her?

Iris narrowly escaped her pretty, popular twin sister’s fate as a teen: kidnapped, trafficked and long gone before the cops agreed to investigate. With no evidence to go on but a few scattered memories, the case quickly goes cold.

Now an adult, Iris wants one thing—proof. And if the police still won’t help, she'll just have to find it her own way; by interning at the isolated Shoal Island Hospital for the criminally insane, where secrets lurk in the shadows and are kept under lock and key. But Iris soon realizes that something even more sinister is simmering beneath the surface of the Shoal, and that the patients aren't the only ones being observed…

Nine years ago 15 year old Iris and her twin sister Piper went to the movies with some guys. At the end of that night Piper was dragged into a car and hasn't been seen since.
No one believed Iris that Piper was kidnapped, the police thought Piper was just a runaway.
And now 24 year old Iris is finally able to do something with all the evidence she collected on her own. She went to college and now she's interning in a hospital for the criminally insane on an island near Seattle. Someone in there knows something about her sister!

What will happen with Iris on that Island?
Will she find out the truth?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!

I really enjoyed reading this.
It's interesting and mysterious and suspensy and sweet and heartbreaking from the first to the last word!
But it also felt a bit rushed from start to finish. No idea what I mean by that. It just felt too confusing. I wanted or rather needed a hundred more pages. I wanted more of the life Iris was living now and her schooling and work and all the things.
It could've been an amazing book but it somehow feels like a weird editor cut over 100 pages and made it not amazing.
BUT - I still really liked reading it. It was mysterious and suspensy. You might guess some things but you probably won't guess all the things! At least I didn't!

Great cover. Great book. I wouldn't mind seeing this on Netflix one day!

PS - if you're a tiny little bit of a water phobist... the cover water does not appear in the book - no one is going to drown! But we are in Seattle and on an Island - so there is a lot of water from above and below!

GOOD HALF GONE was a suspensy + mysterious + sweet + heartbreaking + sad + dangerous + slightly creepy story. I loved reading it! Run to your nearest book dealer for your own Iris - she'll be sold out in no time!
