At Santa Cruz Central High School, they called them the misfits, the outcasts, the weirdos. But most of us knew them as the Lost Boys…
Miller Stratton is a survivor. After a harrowing childhood of poverty, he will do anything it takes to find security for himself and his mom. He’s putting all his hopes and dreams in the fragile frame of his guitar and the beauty he creates with its strings and his soulful voice.
Until Violet.
No one expects to meet the love of their life at age thirteen. But the spunky rich girl steals Miller’s heart and refuses to give it back.
Violet McNamara’s life hasn’t been as simple as it looks. Her picture-perfect family is not so perfect after all. Her best friend Miller is her one constant and she is determined not to ruin their friendship with romantic complications.
The book starts on Violet's thirteenth birthday.
That day she met Miller for the first time.
The boy just seemed to appear out of the woods behind her house - he was very hungry and he was wearing very old clothes. Vi immediately invites him into her room to feed him and to talk all through the night. After that she decided he was her friend.
And he was. But for him it was also so much more.
Violet didn't want romantic stuff to destroy what they had. But Miller found the love of his life that first night while eating birthday cake in her room.
We fast forward four years after a bit of excitement and Miller still tries to hide his feelings. Violet wants to date the quarterback and she's finding more friends in school. They don't see each other often anymore ...
And what if suddenly Vi and Miller's personal and professional dreams seem to come true ... what will happen?

This book was just beautiful.
Rock-Star-Romances are my favorite kinds of books. And this one was just perfect. Even if it's not really a rock star romance most of the time...I still loved it.
It starts as this heartbreaking teenager story and then we grow a bit older and it turns into a heartbreaking highschool, rock star, coming-of-age, love story drama.
Ugh. I cried a lot!
Such a sweet and sad story.
I hated Violet a little bit here and there. We get why she doesn't want to destroy their friendship with romance. But ugh. Poor Miller!
I don't really want to say much more. I don't want to spoil things. It was a beautiful love story with ALL THE FEELS! That's all you need to know to start reading!
I also really loved the other two lost boys and their love interests! Can't wait to read their stories!
What I didn't really love - even though it's beautiful ... the cover. The guy looks like a very old 25 or a young 40. But definitely not like a 17 year old boy. And also the blurb should've maybe concentrated more on telling us that this was going to be a Young Adul Highschool Dramance. I was expecting only a couple of back-in-time chapters and then a real adult or college and rock star life story. BUT - I really loved what I got instead. It was a beautiful book... just that the cover and blurb might lead the reader in the wrong direction.
And another thing - purely my fault I'm sure.... I thought that the LOST BOYS was the name of the band - and we'd get three rock star romances! But nope. Only Miller is the rock star here. The other two will have completely different heartbreaking stories - we already heard some about their lives, but just tiny little snippets. Can't wait!

If you haven't read Emma's #FullTilt Duet yet - DO IT NOW! ☺
Emma Scott writes romances with flawed characters, characters with artistic hearts: builders, poets, and writers of various makes and models. Emma loves to write book lovers; those who have found refuge, companionship, and escape in books, much as we all do in real life. She digs realism, honesty, authenticity in storytelling. She also loves to write about enduring love, soul-deep love, in as real a setting as possible, but with big smooshy HEAs. Emma believes in diversity, open-mindedness, and inclusion. She adores sweetness mixed with steam, love conquering all, and above all, hope. Love always wins.
