Roxie Callahan is a private chef to some of Hollywood’s wealthiest, and nastiest, calorie-counting wives. After a dairy disaster implodes her carefully crafted career in one fell ploop, she finds herself back home in upstate New York, bailing out her hippie mother and running the family diner.

When gorgeous local farmer Leo Maxwell delivers her a lovely bunch of organic walnuts, Roxie wonders if a summer back home isn’t such a bad idea after all. Leo is heavily involved in the sustainable slow food movement, and he likes to take his time. In all things. Roxie is determined to head back to the west coast as soon as summer ends, but will the pull of lazy fireflies and her very own Almanzo Wilder be enough to keep her home for good?

Salty. Spicy. Sweet. Nuts. Go on, grab a handful.

Roxie works as a private chef in Hollywood.
That is, she worked as a chef, until a little cream-turning-into-butter-incident got her fired. And blacklisted all over LA. (Blacklisted, except for our darlings Jack & Grace from the red-head-series, who have a little cameo!!! ♥)

Now might be the time to accept her mom's 'offer' to come home to the little town in New York state, to run the family diner, as long as her hippie-mom is gone. (Gone as in be a contestant on The Amazing Race!!!)
Roxie was just getting started with her company - it was really going well. But she needs money - and that's why we're (temporarily) moving to Bailey Falls, NY.

To run the diner, the place where she learned and loved to cook, but also the place she wanted to escape from as soon as she turned 18.
And now she's back.
But everything might just not be as bad as she feared...
because she runs into (literally runs into - or rather rolls around on the floor with...) Leo!!!!

Leo is a local farmer who brings fresh produce into the diner every week.
A reallllly yummy farmer with a beard! And eyes!! Oy, those green eyes!

Extreme attraction on first sight - but both immediately make clear that they're not looking for something long-term. Which is perfect for Roxie - she'll be going back to California after the summer.
But this sexy farmer makes it hard to remember why she wants to leave this town.....

Lots of feelings and sexy & funny scenes - but the end of summer will be here soon....and there are still all the things/secrets Leo is not telling about himself... why is he even here, working on a farm??

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO ROXIE & LEO???
WiLL THERE BE A CHANCE FOR A HEA???
WiLL THERE BE A CLiFFHANGER???

NOPE . . .
I'm not telling you

 I REALLY LOVED THiS BOOK!

I reallllly loved Wallbanger - and I loved all the following Cocktail books, but I didn't loooove them - but this one here... OY!!! SO GOOD!
It was adorable and funny from the first word to the last!
You can't help but love this chaotic cook and her hippie mom and especially the hot bearded farmer Leo!!!

There are sooo many hilarious scenes and sexy scenes and cute and adorable scenes!
Not everything is all strawberry cake and tomato-plants... there are some (minor) problems those two have to work through to find their Happy End....

You will so want your own bearded farmer after reading it. ☺

Was there something I didn't like?
Hm, not really ... if I HAD to name one thing...there was probably a tiny little bit too much talk about food and farming and what all belongs to both. But it didn't bother me much - because I looove all things FOOD. ☺

NUTS was such an amazingly funny and sexy and farmery and kitcheny romance!
You'll sooo fall in love with green-eyed-bearded-farmer-hottie Leo and his adorably klutzy chef Roxie! I'm ready to move to the Hudson Valley now. I'm accepting donations for my farm or villa via paypal! ☺

Now I really want to read books #2 + #3 Those will be about a hot-tattoed dairy farmer and a hotel-owner, who will fall in love with Roxie's besties!

ARC received for an honest review

Oh, it seems like it has been forever since I had an Alice Clayton book in my hands.

I freaking LOVED Wallbanger, and while I loved the rest of the Cocktail series, it just missed that little something.

But never fear, Ms Clayton is back to her Wallbanger best with Nuts.  Seriously, a book full of nuts and cucumber double entendres is always going to be a winner with me - yep, that's right, I have the mind of a 12 year old boy!

I loved this from the first word to the last.  Roxie is just too adorable for words.  So good at her chosen career, but such a bumbling mess when it comes to one sexy farmer

Seriously though - from the first minute we meet him, all I could think was "humina humina"... and then I thought, "hang on, I live in a farming town, where are all the Leo's???"
Maybe I need to go on Farmer Wants A Wife and find him!!
I couldn't help but smile and laugh out loud with some of the situations Roxie and Leo found themselves in.  But as we know, the path to love is never a smooth one, and there was a twist in the tale that completely blind sided me!
There are some great secondary character - Roxie's best friend, her high school crush (oh man did I love The Chad!) and her flighty, yes sometimes quite profound mother.
There is also a bit of set up for the second book in the series, Cream.  Oooh, and we also get a little bit of Grace and Jack from the Redhead Series (which now, after reading Nuts, I have to go back and reread!!)
I can't wait for the next book and some more zany antics!

LiNKS TO THE BOOK AND AUTHOR

BOOK #2 - CREAM - will be out July 2016!!!

 STALK ALICE ON:
FACEBOOKHOMEPAGEGOODREADSTWITTER

Alice Clayton is a novelist with an unholy love for her KitchenAid mixer. Making her home in St Louis, she enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up afterwards, and is trying desperately to get her long time boyfriend to make her an honest woman. Hi sweetie!!

After working for years in the cosmetics industry as a makeup artist, esthetician, and national educator for a major cosmetics company, Alice picked up a pen (read laptop) for the first time at 33 to begin a new career, writer. Combining her love of storytelling with a sense of silly, she was shocked and awed to be nominated for a Goodreads Author award in 2010 for her debut novels, The Redhead Series.

Alice has penned three novels, The Unidentified Redhead,The Redhead Revealed, and coming soon in November 2012, Wallbanger. She thinks you should purchase them immediately. She’s not kidding, not even a little bit. Everyone needs some comedic erotica in their lives. She is hard at work on the third book in The Redhead Series, set to release in Spring of 2013, continuing the saucy and sexual escapades of everyone’s favorite couple, Jack and Grace.

Additionally, Alice loves spending time with her besties on Not Your Mother's Podcast, make sure you check them out at notyourmotherspodcast.com or over on iTunes. 3 women rushing towards their forties still acting like teenagers. A saucy little mix of sex, love, relationships, pop cultural, celebrity gossip and All Things Jake Ryan.

Alice enjoys pickles, Bloody Mary’s, 8 hours of sleep, and a good pounding.

Finally Alice would also like all her readers and listeners to help her convince Mt. Alice that the only other thing that would make her truly happy is finally bringing home a Bernese Mountain Dog. She is totally serious. And done talking about herself in the third person…
