Meet Genie Divine, the wise-cracking London show-girl on a hell-bent mission to save her beloved family theatre.

Now meet Abel Kingdom, the australian gym mogul determined to buy it out from underneath her.

On paper they have nothing in common, and when they meet, they have even less.

The only thing they DO have is chemistry.
Undeniable, rip-my-clothes-off-and-do-me-now-against-the-wall chemistry.

Feathers. Lies. Glitter. Secrets. Lust.

He wants her theatre. She wants him dead.

The stage is set for an explosive summer

28-year-old Genie has been left on her uncle's doorsteps by her mother when she was just a little baby. Her uncle took her in. Into his family's theatre. The Divine Theatre. And this theatre is now Genie's whole life. She's a burlesque dancer in the show. Her uncle's doing a drag-queen-part. But he wants to retire. To California with his boyfriend. And he doesn't have the money to pay for the new roof and lots of other he decides to sell out to Abel Kingdom - a gym chain guy from Australia.
But Genie still has eight weeks to save her beloved theatre. 8 weeks to get enough money to stop this horrible australian guy from buying her home.
But of course this horrible australian guy is not so horrible. At least he isn't horrible to look at. He's drop-dead-gorgeous.

And they are both soooo attracted to each other.
But on his side that was only until he knew what she did for a living.
He despises strippers and prostitutes. She's not a stripper. She's a professional dancer, by choice.
But Abel has lots of problems left over from his childhood in London. Where his mom was a stripper. He saw and heard things, no little boy should see or hear.
That's why he can't understand why he's so drawn to this girl...this beautiful stripping girl....

Lots of problems to overcome until Genie & Abel can even think about having a Happy Ever After....

Nope - I'm not telling you

Ok- I might tell you that there is NO Cliffhanger - we have a nice epilogue - BUT there is the possibility of a book for another character ;)

A reallllly hot Aussie??? Let's just pretend he looks like Alex O'Loughlin .... #InstantFangirl

I had no idea what to expect when I started reading .... just the basics of burlesque dancing and a theatre etc.
I really enjoyed reading it.
It was reallllly sexy - even though there's no 'real' sex for a long while, but Kitty creates amazingly sexy scenes without actual sex ☺

I loved how it's not all happy happy lovey dovey stuff right from the beginning. Like in other books - they meet - fall in love - get together - some misunderstanding comes in their way - break-up - get back together in the end.... it's a bit different here ☺ Yes, they're incredibly attracted to each other, but Abel stands in the way of Genie's future. And Abel just can't get over the fact that Genie takes off her clothes for money.
It's so adorable and funny to watch them trying to not give in to temptation - and mostly failing miserably☺

I also really enjoyed the background of the whole story - the theatre - the burlesque dancing. I don't think I ever read a book about that before. I really enjoyed it. The whole atmosphere in the theatre, the desperation of Genie trying to save the family business for herself and for everybody who's working there. And Abel trying to let go of the dark past by buying this theatre...
I loved the end especially - the last 25% were really interesting and event-ful ☺

GENIE was an amazingly sexy & funny & moving Romance!

ARC received from author for an honest review

Kitty French has a new book?  Let me at it!

If you have read Kitty's Knight series, you know she writes a sexy, sexy man.

And boy, is Abel Kingston a sexy man!

"He had a presence, a vitality, he was a big solid wall of Australian oh-my-god sexiness that made her throat constrict"

Genie Divine would do anything for her family and business.  She is super successful at her job - burlesque dancer - and that seems to be the only problem Abel has with her.

The attraction between Genie and Abel is off the charts!  You could cut the sexual tension with a chainsaw.  The  minute they see each other the spark, the pull is there, and you know it is going to be hot as Hades when they finally get together.

But do they get together?  I will never tell! You need to read for yourself to find that out!

I have to say, as much as I loved Abel, may god he was an arse!  A sexy, hot Australian arse, but man oh man!  If I was Genie I would have kneed him in the balls and punched him in the face for being the way he was, for saying the things he says.

I adored Genie for sticking it to him like she did. She was never ashamed of what she does for a living, and she never let him make her feel so.  He sure tried but she gave him the big middle finger about it.

I loved how this didn't go by the usually play book.  Our lovelies bickered right to the end, none of this insta-love, misunderstanding, heartbreak, unplanned pregnancy (because there always seems to be one of these!!), get back together business here.  They loved to hate each other, they fought their attraction at all turns.  Love is not meant to be easy, and boy these two made it hard on themselves - and on each other.

I loved the background of the old theatre, you could almost see the glitter, smell the stage make up.  Might have wanted this old, unfit body want to get up and dance.. almost! I may have laid on the couch eating chocolates instead though!

I have adored Ms French's writing since I first picked up Knight and Play, and I definitely was not disappointed with Genie.  It is sweet, funny, sexy.  I love the banter between Abel, Genie and the other dance ladies.

I hope we get more to this series!
