SYNOPSIS
Love is best served on the rocks.
My roommates look really good naked. At least one of them does. I’m sure the other one does too, but I haven’t seen him without his pants on. Living with two guys wasn't something I’d ever considered, but the opportunity fell in my lap, and I’d have been crazy to turn it down.
College went by in a great big blur leaving me with less of a direction than I had going in. Add in a family that wanted nothing to do with me, and my post-college plans were less than clear. What’s a girl to do when she has nowhere else to turn? She moves to the Outer Banks and learns to bartend. After all, it was my horrible bartending skills that led me to my roommate’s bed and into his heart.
ARC Received for an honest review
This is the second book in the Mixology series by Alyssa Rose Ivy, and as with the first book (Shaken, Not Stirred), I really really enjoyed it. In fact, I read it in one sitting I liked it that much.
And although this is the second story, there is enough information from the story in the first book that it could be read as a standalone.
In Shaken Not Stirred (Maddy and Colin's story) we met Maddy's sexy roommates, Brody and Macon, and quickly met Colin's sister, Carly.
On the Rocks is Macon and Carly's story. Maddy is at a loose end after finishing college so stays with her brother for the summer. Macon isn't sure what will happen with him when his boss sells the business he works for.
The sparks between Carly and Macon could set fire to a wet log at 20 paces! There is that instant attraction, sexual tension you could cut with a knife. Everyone else can see what is inevitable between them, but both of them are holding back, knowing their time together is limited, plus the relationships amongst the friends.
Could a relationship between Maddy's best friend and Colin's sister ever end well?
Uh Uh, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.
One of the things I really love about this series is the relationships between the friends. There is innocent flirting, witty banter, giving each other grief (in the fun way) for pretty much anything and everything. They are each others biggest support, but also their fiercest critics if it is required.
I enjoyed that we got a continuation of Colin and Maddy's story along with the new story of Macon and Carly.
Carly and Colin's sister Kim was an interesting addition to the group, and I am curious about her.
And I NEEEEED to know more about Brody. So please don't leave me hanging. Will we be getting more of the Mixology series???
