✪ The Wedding Pact (The O'Malleys #2) ✪ Katee Robert ✪ Release Blitz & Giveaway ✪

Carrigan O'Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestigethan passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she's ruined for
anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.

Hallorans vs. O'Malleysthat's how it's always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family's empire instead of how silky Carrigan's skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he'll be if he can't get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.

The Wedding Pact follows on where The Wedding Contract (Teague and Callie's story) finished, but you could read this second book as a stand alone if you wanted to.

James and Carrigan are like Romeo and Juliet.  Their lives are ruled by family loyalties, they must do what is best for their families no matter what it costs them.

And in The Wedding Pact, it costs them their hearts.

I loved Carrigan in The Marriage Contract.  She is strong, feisty, bucking against the system,   Even surrounded by mob bosses, infighting, death and destruction, the is determined to break free - if she can.

James is also trying to break free from the shackles of family and circumstance.  He does not want the sins of the father to become the sins of the son.

The spark between our Lovely and her guy is irrefutable.  They know that the most they can expect are fleeting moments, secret rendezvous, glimpses across the room.

And as I was reading this hurt my heart.  Blind Freddy could see that they are meant for each other - if only their families could see past their hatred and see it too.

But can they ever get their HEA?  For that you will have to read.

From the minute I picked up The Wedding Pact, I was hooked. It was full of suspense, drama, intensity.  As each page turned I held my breath, anticipating what was going to happen next.

I am anxiously waiting for the next book in this series - so please don't keep me waiting too long Ms Robert!

EXCERPT

She headed for her favorite booth, but drew up short when she saw that it was occupied. Her brain took  precious seconds to catch up to her eyes. There he was, the asshole, sitting in her booth with his legs stretched out in front of him, wearing those jeans that hugged his ass and thighs and a smug smirk, with his arms stretched out across the back of the booth. Challenging her.

In case she missed all that written all over his face, there were two drinks in front of hima beer and, if she didnt miss her guess, a dirty martini. Her preferred drink. How the hell did he even know that?

Oh yes, this was a challenge all right.

Every intelligent cell in her brain demanded she turn around and walk away. Run away. But then the bastard raised an eyebrow, as if daring her to sit down and drink with him, and she threw common sense right out the window. Carrigan strode across the distance separating them, putting a little more swing into her step and smiling to herself when his gaze tracked the movement. Album or not, tangled history or no, he wanted her.

And she wasnt above using that against him.

Two nights in a row. I must have pissed off Lady Luck somehow. She sank onto the cushioned seat across the small table from him. The bartender appeared half a second later, and Carrigan smiled sweetly at her. A dirty martini, please.

The woman looked at the table, looked back at her, and shrugged. Sure thing.

If anything James just seemed more amused. Too good for my drinks?

Im not stupid enough to take a drink Ive left unattendedand Ive never laid eyes on this one until I got here. Party Girl 101.

Now, lovely, why would I need to drug you? You came here of your own free will, just like I knew you would. He leaned forward and propped his elbows on his knees, drawing her gaze to the way his black T-shirt clung to his shoulders and how his dangling hands seemed designed to frame the bulge between his legs.

Her body zinged to life in a way it hadnt in months. It was all too easy to take a walk down memory lane and feel him lifting her against that wall and shoving his cock home, growling filthy words in her ear in that same tone of voice he was using now.

Shit.

She held his gaze even though all she wanted to do was look away. James wasnt pretty. He was far too masculine for that. The first time shed seen him, she thought hed look perfectly at home on the back of a Harley, and that perception hadnt changed with time. Everything about him screamed danger in a way she wasnt used to. The men in her family were dangerousthere was no doubt of thatbut it was a polished danger. Jamess wasnt. He was gritty and primal andShe really needed to stop. Right now. I wouldnt put anything past you at this point.

You wound me.

You kidnapped me. Id say were nowhere near even. Something she had to keep reminding herself,  though the fact she kept forgetting annoyed the hell out of her. Only a weak woman would get all aflutter over a man who obviously meant her harm. A weak woman or one with a death wish.

Carrigan wasnt either.

I have adored all that I have read from Ms Bybee in the past, so reading her new series, 'Most Likely To', was a no brainer for me.

A Bybee book leaves you with a warm, happy feeling in your soul.  You know what you are in for when you start, and she sweeps you away with the characters.

Melanie has travelled full circle - her high school class named her the most likely to succeed.  But here she is, back home in small town River Bend and feels she is a disappointment.

It irked me at times that she was so worried about what everyone else thought about her instead of being the bright, vibrant woman she really could be.  I wanted to tell her to snap out of it!

What and Melanie's first meeting is not conventional, but even with all that goes on, there is that spark of attraction between them.

Now, if only sassy Melanie can come out to play and do something about it!

This is told in dual POVs and a couple of  times I did have to go back to see whose POV I was reading (at times their voices were not very distinct) but for the most part I loved getting inside both of their heads.

I adore, adore, adored Melanie's oldest friends Zoe and  Jo - I really can't wait for more of them in the next books! - the banter, the love, the laughter the emotions that only those who have known each other for so long shines through.

What I was expecting, which we usually get with a Bybee story is a big WTF moment.  But we didn't get one this time. There was a darker storyline for a bit, but not the "shake your head, what just happened" moment.

Doing It Over is a sweet, lovable contemporary romance, just what this girl needed after reading a string of darker stories.

Bring on book 2 - I need to know what happens with these characters!

Four Aussies in Seattle

As an unseen enemy takes aim

Four must stand as one for Justice to survive.

A man branded by his past

Seth Justice is tall, daring and dangerous. The former street kid from Sydney owns a thriving technology company in Seattle. But he has bigger goals―or should that be ghosts?―that drive him harder. On the verge of selling his business for a fortune, he’s celebrating when Harper Fox, daughter of the buyer, tumbles into his arms. The curvy café owner enchants him with her sassy personality. Soon they move from easy banter to a night of passion that reveals a sweet vulnerability in the soft-hearted woman.

A woman determined to control her future

After a lifetime of her domineering father’s scorn and rejection, Harper dances to her own beat. She has her café and surrounds herself with a chosen family of her eccentric staff and close friends. While she’s mostly content… her heart aches for more. But Harper has been burned before and doesn’t trust easily. That is, until a man with a panty-melting Aussie accent and a commanding stare entices her to take a chance—on him. When Seth takes charge in the bedroom and ties her control in knots, he awakens a need in Harper that leaves her hungry for more.

A new beginning worth fighting for

When an unseen enemy attacks the new life Seth and his brothers have built, the ensuing disaster tests not only his developing relationship with Harper, but also threatens to sever the last remaining bonds with his brothers. As Seth struggles to protect everything and everyone he loves, he has to determine if Harper is his enemy’s target—or accomplice.

Fiona Archer is a new-to-me author, but after reading Craving Justice I will definitely be reading more.

Craving Justice isa fast paced ,edge of your set, suspenseful story that had me hooked right from the get go. 4 hot Aussies in
Seattle (they don't have accents by the way, the rest of the people do). Alpha. Uber protective. Family.

This is the first in the Sons of Sydney series and is Seth Justices' story. And the woman who knocks the breath out of him, Harper Fox.

From the first word to the last I was taken along on one heck of a ride as forces conspire to ruin Seth and his family.

The story took a turn that took my by surprise. I had an inkling about something early on in the piece but when we learned more...

BOOM!  HEAD EXPLODED!

Craving Justice is intense, full of questions that will have you wondering whodunnit.

And it will leave you craving more of the Justice brothers.

Can't wait for more Ms Archer!

Excerpt

Seth was refreshing and vastly different from the people attending her father’s little cocktail party. These people hid behind well-constructed facades. The football players kept close to each other, as if there was strength in numbers. The men in suits, outwardly bored yet underneath excited as any kid, wanting to get a few words with their favorite player. And the wives of her father’s rich clients, eyeing the buffet of testosterone and fantasizing about secret autograph sessions in a motel somewhere.

She sighed and closed her eyes at the superficiality of it all. When had she become so cynical? She snorted softly. Maybe some of her father had rubbed off on her after all. After years of being an unwilling spectator at his events, she hadn’t managed to escape unscathed.

“I’m guessing from that sigh these parties aren’t your kind of thing.” Seth pointed his glass of beer at the crowd.

Damn, she needed to hide her thoughts better.

“That obvious, huh?” Oh, heck, did he think she found him boring? “It’s me. It’s not you, definitely not … um, I mean, you’re fabulous.” She snapped her mouth shut. Awesome, Harper.

His gaze gleamed with silent laughter.

She sucked in a breath and battled on. “You’re right. These corporate gigs aren’t for me.”

“What is?” Seth sipped his beer.

She thought for a second. “Street markets, hanging with friends over a home-cooked meal, seeing a classic movie at the Grand Illusion Cinema in the University district. The interior is original with red brocade chairs and fancy metalwork. Just divine.” Okay, now she was on a roll. “Oh, and I have to have Milk Duds. Two boxes if I’m with someone, because I don’t share.” If he didn’t understand the importance of candy while watching a movie then she’d leave right now. Some things were sacred.

“I get you on the Milk Duds. I have the same with Allens Jaffas lollies.” At her head tilt, he answered, “Aussie candy I order online and have mailed over. I guard that stuff like it’s the crown jewels. My brother Heath tries to steal handfuls when we watch the rugby. Bastard can get his own.”

Ah, they had a meeting of minds.

“I feel your frustration,” Harper nodded, her tone solemn.

Seth studied her for a moment then, after a quick glance around the garden, asked, “Can I tempt you to leave. Buy you dinner?”

“You tempt me a great many ways, Seth.”

She slapped a hand over her mouth.

The big Aussie’s lips kicked up at one corner, and his low chuckle sounded as if Hades himself was amused.

Under the influence of whatever evil genie now controlled her mouth, she’d just have to ride it out.

His invitation was tempting. Why hang around when her father had clearly dismissed her earlier? After all standing before her was a man who intrigued her and had just asked her out to dinner.

Not exactly a hard choice.

“Just what did you have in mind?” Her voice was calm, unlike the flutter in her tummy.

“Dinner, conversation and a chance to impress you with my suave moves and epic sense of humor.”

Hmm, he was laughing at himself, which was damn sexy, but there was a self-assuredness in the way he stood tall and proud that made her pulse skip. That alone should make her wary. She’d met plenty of cool dudes who turned out to be jerks with all the right words.

Still, Seth seemed so…upfront. And that dry humor was an instant hook for her.

“Confident, aren’t you?”

All teasing fled his eyes. He stepped closer, so close she could smell a hint of aftershave—a rich woody fragrance undercut with warm spices.

His gaze locked with hers as he ran a finger down the side of her cheek, leaving her skin tingling in its wake.

She held her breath and waited.

“I’m a man who knows what he wants. Right now, I want to take you to dinner and find out if you’re as intriguing as the idea of getting to know you promises.” He traced the blunt tip of his finger over the edge of her bottom lip. His touch wasn’t light but…firm, commanding, as if he was giving her a chance to feel him before he took possession. “My guess is I’ll be left wanting more.”

Her breath rushed out in a soft whoosh. Tall, daring and dangerous. That was Seth. Damned if it didn’t make her crave him all the more.

Fiona Archer writes erotic romance filled with masterful Aussie alpha heroes and teams them with sassy heroines who limit their submissive side to the bedroom. She lives in sunny environs of Sydney, Australia, and is harassed by a flock of wild cockatoos that take over the back yard each afternoon, demanding their feed. Her favorite hobbies include watching Nathan Fillion on television, shopping for that ever-elusive perfect shade of lipstick, and drinking iced coffee.

✿ Cover Reveal ✿ The Empty Jar ✿ M. Leighton ✿

Cover Reveal

The Empty Jar
by
M. Leighton

Releasing May 8, 2016

Today is cover reveal day for M. Leighton's upcoming release entitled The Empty Jar.  She wanted to say a little something about the cover before we reveal it and the description, so here she is.

First of all, a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you amazing women who are helping me reveal this cover today. I appreciate everything you do for me, for authors in general and for this community.  As a reader, I love you, too:)

Secondly...

OMG OMG OMG!  IT'S FINALLY TIME TO REVEAL!

I feel like I've been waiting AGES to share this with you!

This cover... GAH!  Y'all, it took me forEVER to get it just right. There was a certain "feel" that I wanted to achieve with it and I wasn't happy until I felt that "feel" jumped right out when I looked at it. I wanted the cover to speak of the book. I wanted it to show the highs and lows, the sweet and the poignant, the depth of it, if you will.  And finally...finally, I feel like it does:)  You might not realize just how much NOW, but once you read this story, you'll be like, "Yeah.  That cover is perfect for this book!"

When I got the paperback proof in the other day, I held it in my hands and I just stared at it.  Not only is this story extremely special to me, but this is probably my favorite cover of all my books.  Ever.  When I look at it, I see so much more than just a picture.  I see all the things that I find in life, as well as what I put into the story that is The Empty Jar.  It's a blend of happy pinks and brooding blues. It's light and it's dark.  There are highs and there are lows.  There is morning and there is night.   But if you notice the sky on this cover, there are little flickers of brightness in the bodies of the lightning bugs. Life is that way, too. Even in the darkest part of the night, there is a spark of hope.  There is beauty.  There is the romantic glow of a full moon, the silvery face of your mate, the delicate twinkle of fireflies. It's all there if we look closely enoughthat balance of beauty and tragedy.

And love.

Always love.

Below is a little more about the book. It's hard to tell you much without spoiling anything, but I think you can get a feel for it.  It's such a special story.  So raw, so real. I honestly can't wait for y'all to read it! I hope you love IT and the cover as much as I do:)

If you want to know more about how it came about, you can read my blog post about it here.

But before I get to that...THE COVER!
