You can’t rise from the ashes if you’ve never been burned.

When notorious mafia boss Danny Black and lethal assassin James Kelly join forces to hunt down a mutual, elusive nemesis that threatens to destroy them both and take control of their city, they know they will be entering a deadly game. A game they must win if they are ever going to live in peace with the women they love away from crime, corruption, and death.

But peace is an illusion, love is a daily torment, and death will always follow them.

As power starts to slip from their grasp, enemies re-emerge, and old, personal demons return to haunt them both, they finally accept they can never leave their world if they want to stay alive. So they need to protect it at all costs. No matter the consequences. No matter the losses. No matter the pain. They must make choices no men should make. Kill more ruthlessly, love more fiercely, and hate with more rage than ever before.

They’re capable. Ready.

But nothing prepares them for the secrets they uncover and the betrayals they face. Or the personal sacrifices they must make to rise again.

Two men.
One goal.
No mercy.

This is The Rising.

Rose + Danny
Beau + James
...

We've read a lot about them in The Brit and The Enigma and The Resurretion.
And now - or rather at the end of the last book - everything was perfect. They got the bad guy and they were all happy on their island.
But then they got that call. Their dead bad guy wasn't the real bad guy.
That means nothing is over. Everything is still as dangerous and complicated and mysterious as before and we still have a long fight ahead of us to reach that elusive happily ever after for all of them!

LET THE 'FUN' TIMES BEGIN ...

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO OUR DARLINGS?
WILL WE FINALLY GET A HAPPILY EVER AFTER?

PHEW! πŸ”₯

This is such a great series. It really is.
If you love mafia and dark romance - these are So the books for you!
I'm not a mafia romance fan at all. I hate it when my hero kills people and sells guns and drugs and whatnot.
But... somehow. Kinda. You just have to fall in love with Danny and James and their ladies and all the other extended family.
It's still way too criminal and bloody and gunny for my tastes. But it's also so very heartbreaking and sexy and sweet and funny and hopeless, but also still full of hope for a better - more peaceful - future.
You just want them to destroy all the bad people and enjoy their happily ever after on St. Lucia with the whole family.
But of course it's not really that easy. For me it dragged a bit in the beginning but then it was one dangerous moment after the other.
And it might just posslibly be that this hasn't been the very endy end of all.
There's more to tell.
Don't worry - it's not a bad cliffy or anything. Things come to an end here but there's more to come!

I still want that Miami/St. Lucia-based TV show please!

THE RISING was the perfect 4th book in this great dark romantic series! Dangerous + mysterious + sexy + exciting + heartbreaking and so full of hope for a more peaceful future. Run to your nearest book dealer for your own Danny + James - these two are MINE!
