♫ Sticks (Black Addiction #2) ♫ T. Gephart ♫

Kenzie Clark had made plenty of mistakes. Who cared? Life was all about the journey, and if you couldnt enjoy the ride then what was the point. The tough-talking guitarist from Brooklyn, NY worked hard so she could play even harder. But some mistakes werent so easy to walk away from. Joey Shaw, drummer for Black Addiction, was exactly that kind of a mistake.

How could one night of fun turn into a life long commitment? That
s exactly what Joey was asking himself when Kenzie showed up a few weeks laterthe soon-to-be baby bump with his name written all over it. He could barely tie his shoes; how in the hell was he going to raise a kid?

With neither of them ready to become parents, it was always going to be a difficult, but there was no way either of them were walking away. Come hell or high water, they were having this baby
together.

Hopefully they would both be still standing by the birth.

Waking up to a new T. Gephart book on the kindle is like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and your fairy godmother all in the room at the same time!

I loved all her guys and girls in the Power Station series, but I really think I am loving the Black Addiction crew even more.

Told from Joey and Kenzie's POV, we follow their burgeoning relationship from lust-to-eff-buddies-to-parents to be-to-friends-to-lovers (phew!)  There has always been that mutual attraction and friendship, but is it enough to get them through the trials of parenthood.

I loved getting in both of their heads.  Kenzie was my kind of woman right from the get go.  Strong, independent, scared sh!tless by her new future, but not asking for anything from anyone.

Joey had me a little concerned at first.  He could flirt for his country and win gold, and has a line of women wanting him.  But through his POV, I was surprised at his depth of feelings for Kenzie (at first anyway!)  He made me laugh, shake my head, roll my eyes.  But most of all he made my heart soar.

"God I want you."  He pulled off my sleep shirt, the one I had barely been wearing an hour, and kissed my newly exposed skin.  "I don't think I've ever wanted anything as much as I want you."

I loved the growth of Kenzie and Joey's relationship.  Nothing felt forced, it changed organically as the story unfolded.

There were a few twists and turns, and at one stage I was so mad with what what happening, I was laying on my couch, body rigid with anger.  I wanted to reach into my kindle and strangle people!  I may have scared the neighbours with my obscenely loud swearing!

Ms Gephart weaves a beautiful story, and I really didn't want to put Sticks down once I started.  I adored that we got the more of the Power Station guys and gals, and loved getting to know more about the Black Addiction crew.

I can't wait to see what happens with them all next.

T Gephart is an indie author from Melbourne, Australia.

Ts approach to life has been somewhat unconventional. Rather than going to University, she jumped on a plane to Los Angeles, USA in search of adventure. While this first trip left her somewhat underwhelmed and largely depleted of funds it fueled her appetite for travel and life experience.

With a rather eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history, T struggled to find her niche in the world.

While on a subsequent trip the United States in 1999, T met and married her husband. Their whirlwind courtship and interesting impromptu convenience store wedding set the tone for their life together, which is anything but ordinary. They have lived in Louisiana, Guam and Australia and have traveled extensively
throughout the US. T has two beautiful young children and one four legged child, Woodley, the wonder dog.

An avid reader, T became increasingly frustrated by the lack of strong female characters in the books she was reading. She wanted to read about a woman she could identify with, someone strong, independent and confident and who didnt lack femininity. Out of this need, she decided to pen her first book, A Twist of Fate. T set herself the challenge to write something that was interesting, compelling and yet easy enough to read that was still enjoyable. Pulling from her own past colorful experiences and the amazing personalities she has surrounded herself with, she had no shortage of inspiration. With a strong slant on erotic fiction, her core characters are empowered women who dont have to sacrifice their femininity. She enjoyed the process so much that when it was over she couldnt let it go.

T loves to travel, laugh and surround herself with colorful characters. This inevitably spills into her writing and makes for an interesting journey - she is well and truly enjoying the ride!

Based on her life experiences, T has plenty of material for her books and has a wealth of ideas to keep you all enthralled.

Wow, can you believe that we are up to #10 already in the Nicki Sosobee series?

We follow on where the last book finished up, so you will need to have read the previous books before Lies.

I would like to think that Nicki and I would be great friends in real life.  She is ballsy, she is smart - but she is also smarting from the demise of her relationship with Sean.

But nothing can keep a good woman down, and even with all the crap that is going on in her life, she is still up-and-at-'em, still trying to sniff out what the deal is with Cecil Montgomery.  Still trying to move on in life, even when at times it seems determined to keep holding her back.

Enter Hunter Landry - sexy as sin tattoo artist.  I really liked Hunter at first, but as the story progressed.....

As events occur in Lies, Nicki comes out the other side with what may seem like more vulnerability, but is really more strength to her.  Lies took a turn that I was not expecting, but that is all the more reason to love the Nicki series, and Ms Jamison as an author.

Although with that ending, Ms Jamison certainly left me wanting more.

Can't wait to see where the adventures of Nicki Sosobee take us next.

For years, Jade C. Jamison tried really hard to write what she thought was more “literary” fiction, but she found herself compelled to write what you read by her today—sometimes gritty, raw, realistic stories and other times humorous, light tales—but most of the stories she writes revolve around relationships and characters finding their way through life. While she doesn’t confine herself to just one genre, nor is there a nice neat label for what she writes, most of her work could be called erotic romance.

She lives in Colorado with her husband and four children.

THE HEART OF IT

• a short novella previously published in the Summer Rain Anthology

4.5 Stars

On the outside rich and successful Gabe Paterson has everything.

No one would guess the ghosts from his past are tearing him apart.

Desperate, he reaches out to Elena
a resilient call girl, with her own childhood scars for help.

In their moments of honesty, the two forge the most surprising relationship of their lives.

But will they be brave enough to make it into something more?

How to start a summary about such a short story without spoiling anything? ☺
It was a dark and rainy night in Toronto ☺

Gabe enters this bar on one of upper floors of a Hotel....hoping to meet her.

Elena.
He must've seen her before in there, but we don't know what's between them, or if he's just a bit of a stalker.

They talk - he tells her some truths, some lies....
But through it all he's scared, afraid this won't work.
Why he is afraid we don't know yet.

We only know that they end up in Elena's room...
But what happens in that room....I won't tell you.
But it's probably not what you think ....

What's with Gabe & Elena?
Do they know each other?
What happened in their pasts?
Will there be a HEA?
Will everybody die at the end?

I'm not telling you that of course ☺

 _____________________________________________________

This was a really interesting little thing.
I literally had NO idea what was happening during the first 20% of the story ☺☺☺
But I immediately liked Gabe - with all his fears and weaknesses and whatnot.
Bad things happened in his past and in Elena's too....
Both have suffered in the past and baring their souls now in front of each other might be the perfect way to start healing....

I really liked the story - I liked Simon a lot too and you can easily imagine a happy little ever after with them as a family!

I might have had some tears in my eyes here and there ☺

I think I would've loved the story even more with another 200 pages added to it! There's sooo much story to be told about both of them....

THE HEART OF IT was a really interesting and moving little novella about two lonely and broken souls who might've finally found their other half

ARC received for an honest review.

OK, I am not going to lie. As I started reading this, I had no idea what was happening.  Were they strangers?  Were they a married couple trying to spice things up a little?

But I instantly liked Gabe and Elena.  Gabe was like a little boy in a big man's body.  The hurts from the past are still affecting him.  Elena could be just the perfect person for him.

Baring their souls to each other is the best form of therapy, allowing each of them to start to move forward - but are they moving on together or alone.

The little scene stealer in this quick read is Simon. He was just too adorable for words!

It is hard with such a short story to no have things feel rushed.  But that was not an issue at all with The Heart Of It.  Although I would like to know more about Elena, Gabe and Simon.

Maybe, Ms O'Keefe, we could get more in the future?

EXCERPT

“The fuck, Elena? Get out of the way and let the poor man go.

But she couldn’t. Her feet were nailed to the floor by the scent of his fear, the power of his desperation.

And because it had been four damn weeks of this. All this bravery and all this fear.

He’s a fucked up person in a world of fucked up people. Do not get all hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold over this.

But he was just so damn sweet. And sad.

“Please,” he breathed. “Let’s just forget this.”
Oh, fat chance, buddy.”

Murderous thoughts. Those are what I had once Isabella walked through the door and revealed to me who she was. I needed an escape. An escape from my thoughts, an escape from the hurt, and an escape from ... him.

I was a broken woman, but I was never going to break my resolve. I grew up being a fighter because I had to. No man could ever bring me down... Not even Luca.

But, I had to admit, I never thought my heart would break as much as it did that day. Of course, I fled, but I was a fool to think he would ever let me go. He always told me I was his ... no matter what the cost. He was determined to keep me
regardless of the lengths he had to go to reach his goal. He was like a moth to my flame, a tattoo carved into my heart. I could never escape his pull.

I may have evaded him, but I knew it would just be a matter of time. Once he inevitably caught up with me, there would be no going back.

However, no matter what I had expected
or even imaginedabsolutely nothing could have prepared either of us for what happened next...

Book #2 start exactly where the first one ended: Everything could've been all happy endish with Clara & Luca, but suddenly his WIFE Isabella is standing in front of Clara at the Castle!
How dare Luca not tell her he was married and make her THE OTHER WOMAN!!!!?
Luca still has to be in bed after being almost killed, so it's pretty easy for Clara to escape to Scotland for a while. She's really mad at him.
But of course he follows her...

Lots of things happen after the two of them finally stop fighting.
Luca's wife and the hopefully fast divorce is only the least of their problems.

WILL HAPPEN TO CLARA & LUCA??
WILL THEY GET THEIR HEA???
WILL EVERYBODY SURViVE THiS BOOK???

WILL THERE BE A CLIFFHANGER o.O

NOPE, I'm not telling you ☺

no Cliffy ;)

GREAT 2nd BOOK!!!

I already mentioned this in my review for the first book....I'm not the biggest fan of Mafia Romances...but I'm a fan of whatever Jaimie writes, so I had to read it....
And I loved it...
This 2nd one was so much better than the first book in my opinion - it was just ... MORE...
(well aside from the torture scenes - I wouldn't have minded a slightly youth appropriate version of that! ☺)

I love how Luca is soo adorably in love with Clara and how he thinks he's in control!!! Cute...

Lots of sexytimes in this book....

and suspensy and funny and weird and crazy and adorable and verrry sad moments.... everything you need in your romances!

If you like sexy & super-exciting Mafia Romances...
