♫ Locked and Loaded (Bullet #6) ♫ Jade C Jamison ♫

Is it too much to believe that someone keeps returning to your life because its meant to be?

Zane Carson is an idealistic young man with one big skeleton in his closet when he first meets Jennifer Manders in college. They date only to break up soon after. The sexual attraction is like an electromagnet but they fight like alley cats. The relationship just isnt worth it.

Zanes band Fully Automatic breaks big about the same time Jennifer finishes college. One summer afternoon, they meet for coffee and sparks fly once more. Its off again, on again, but they just cant make it work and break it off for good, deciding its not worth the effort.

But Zane is drawn to her and, during a break in the music action, he tracks her down again, willing to change himself for her and needing to give her one last try. The attraction is as strong as ever, but now Jennifer is hiding something from Zanesomething big, something that threatens to extinguish the spark for good. When Zane discovers her secret, will he be able to forgive her or will that be the end?

Jade C Jamison is back with her hard rockin' boys from Fully Automatic.

Now Jet/Clay is my man from this series, but I've got to say, Zane could give the mana run for his money.

If you love someone set them free.  If they return, it was meant to be.  Right?

But what if they keep returning, and each and every time it is as messed up as the last/

That is Jennifer and Zane's history.  Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

What started out as a somewhat sweet romance years ago has turned toxic over the years, with Zane unable to be the man the Jennifer wants - no, deserves.   Gah, I wanted to nut punch him at times for the things he was doing.  He really was the old sex and drugs and rock and roll cliche personified.

Things have changed up a lot since the last time they were together, and there is so much more to consider than there has ever been before.

Locked and Loaded is at times poignant, gut wrenching, heart breaking.  But there was always that little ray of hope.  Hope that they can make it this time.  Hope that Zane has finally got that reason to get and stay clean and sober.  That Jennifer really can be enough this time.

That sometimes love really is enough to keep fighting for.

But you will have to read for yourself to find out if they get their HEA

Thank you Ms Jamison for another wonderful addition to the Bullet series.

Excerpt
Oh, Zane, this place is amazing. Why havent I ever heard of it before?
I can tell you exactly why. Three reasons. She raised her eyebrows as he raised his index finger. One, its almost downtown, and I know you avoid downtown like the plague. If I recall, you said something about rather losing a limb than walk the Sixteenth Street Mall again.
I said that?
Yeah.
Wellmaybe that was a little drastic.
Yeah, probably. He lifted the bottle of Dos Equis and then said, Two, its a little hole in the wall. It doesnt advertise like some of the bigger restaurantsno billboards, no newspaper ads, shit like that.
Jennifer nodded. Okay, yeah. And whats number three?
Zane leaned over the table and whispered. Its kind of a dive. Jennifer couldnt help but giggle. But in a good way.
She laughed out loud at that. Yeah, definitely. She picked up a chip and dipped it in the warm queso next to Zanes bottle. The food is amazing so far.
Just wait.
The waiter came by with a pitcher. More water, señorita?
Please. After the waiter was back on his way, she said to Zane, I love it. I love the people and I even love that stupid TV in the corner.
Zane glanced over. Yeah, well…”
No, seriously. They dont have the sound on, but it somehow makes it feel like home in here, you know? Lights and movement, but the sounds are coming from the kitchen and some weird soundtrack.
Zane breathed through his nose, putting on a look of mock horror and said, What if its our soundtrack?
What do you mean?
What if this is our movie? A movie about our livesand thats the soundtrack?
Three things.
Zane grinned. What?
Oneif this is our movie, its pretty damn boring. No car chases, no sex scenes, no snappy dialogue—”
Says who? My dialogues plenty snappy.
Two, the soundtrack sucks.
Well, dont be telling them that.
AndI dont have a three. I guess just two.
A smirk covered Zanes face. And we can take care of the sex scene later.

ARC received via Netgalley for an honest review

Though this is the second book in the Oxford series I have not read the first and this did not take away from I Wish You Were Mine.

In fact, this is my first Lauren Layne read and I enjoyed it.

I adored Mollie from the prologue - at her sister's wedding.  And as the book progressed I adored her even more.  Except for one thing.

Her sister Madison is a 100% certified grade A b*^th who had a hold over Mollie that I  just couldn't understand. I knew she is her sister but jeez louise she is a nasty piece of work.

Even harder for Mollie is that the guy she has been in love with forever is her sister's ex husband Jackson.

It took me a while (after the prologue) to warm up to Jackson, but once I did I could see why he stole Mollie's heart.  I just wanted to give him a big old hug, or a slap around the ears depending on what he was doing at the time.

The thing that irked me though was the amount of book time given to the sister Madison.  I know she is a big part of Mollie's life and was a big part of Jackson's, but it seemed it could have been her book rather than theirs at times (but this might just be me).

I adored the attraction and banter between Jackson and Mollie, and could feel the pull between them leaping off the pages.

I will definitely be going back to read the first in this series, and can't wait for more Oxfords - bring on Lincoln

(really more like a 3.75 stars!)

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel.

Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right?

Not when it’s Justinthe only person I’d ever lovedwho now hates me.

When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise.

The same boy who turned into the teenager whose heart I broke years ago.

The same teenager who’s now a man with a hard body and a hardass personality to match.

I hadn’t seen him in years, and now we’re living together because neither one of us is willing to give up the house.

The worst part? He didn’t come alone.

I’d soon realize there’s a thin line between love and hate. I could see through that smug smile. Beneath it allthe boy is still there. So is our connection.

The problem isnow that I can’t have Justin, I’ve never wanted him more.

Author's note RoomHate is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
