✪ Jed Had To Die ✪ Tara Sivec ✪ Blog Tour ✪

The happiest day of Payton Lambert's life was the day she graduated high school and watched Bald Knob, Kentucky get smaller and smaller in her rearview mirror. She wanted more for her life than a tiny town where everyone knows your business and you can’t find a decent cup of coffee for at least forty miles. Twelve years later, an unexpected phone call in the middle of the night has her packing up her life in Chicago and racing back home to the one person she ever regretted leaving behind.

Wait, one person?? Make that two. When the hell did Leo Hudson become sheriff of Bald Knob and get so hot? The scrawny Future Farmer of America who followed Payton around like a puppy and could recite cow insemination facts in his sleep is long gone. Leo is still hot on her heels, but now he's wearing a badge and dead set on solving a murder that may or may not involve Payton...along with half the town.

You steal a few wine coolers in high school and make one little comment about cutting off a man's balls when you come home, and suddenly, you're suspected of killing him.

In a town where the biggest crime happened the day Jethro Snell kicked a few of his cows (an honest mistake when you've had a few jars of homemade moonshine), people are pointing fingers, rumors are spreading like wildfire, and Payton swears she's only making out with the sweet-talking, studly sheriff to distract him from the secrets she's keeping.

When you've been tased, peed on by a yippy dog named Bo Jangles, and can't stop picturing what Sheriff Hudson looks like naked, it will be a tough job making everyone agree that...Jed had to die.

ARC received for an honest review

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up Jed Had To Die.  I have loved what I have read of Ms Sivec's work previously, but reading the synopsis, this one had a different feel.

This story had the perfect amount of laughter, wit, snark, sadness, mystery and intrigue.  A whodunnit who had the reader wondering right to the end.

And then there is the nerd-turned-hot-cop Leo Hudson.  Humina humina.

I love that he has grown from the nerdy guy to "Hot Guy" but isn't all over alpha-y with it.  He is still the same guy - in a buffed up body.

I adore Payton.  I felt for her with the way people in Bald Knob (snicker - I am a 12 year old boy at heart) treated her on her return.  Unless you have lived in a small town, you have noooo idea what it is really like, and I live in a small town!  I adored how she stood up for her friends, didn't worry about making enemies to protect those she loved.  But also wanted to be liked at the same time.

The story flowed seamlessly, I never knew from one minute to the next which direction Ms Sivec was going to take us. #PIE

From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Katy Evans comes a sizzling new contemporary romance.

He's won the hearts of millions. But is he willing to lose his?

I met the president’s son when we were both young. Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent. I’d never met a guy like him.

He promised me that he’d never run for president. I promised that if he did, I’d be by his side.

Three terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton’s campaign is the most exhilarating opportunity I’ve ever experienced. I'm determined to make a difference; he is determined to win.

Focused on his goal, Matt is steadfast, ruthless, and disarming. All eyes are on him and his popularity is surging. But soon, the next possible president of the United States is possessing me in more ways than one
and despite the risks, I'm helpless to resist.

We're stealing touches, stealing moments, and stealing away at night. But our chemical connection is quickly becoming dangerously combustive, putting not only my heart, but Matt's chance at the presidency on the line.

Winning will take everything. Walking away will be the hardest thing of all.

Charlotte grew up in Washington politics - her dad was a senator. But she never really wanted to join the family business. She always wanted to do something to help people. Just done with college now, she joined her mom's social work / Women's help charity. But somehow, a promise she made eleven years ago, when she was just 11 years old, now comes back to haunt her, and she has to decide what she wants to do with her life.
At a family dinner back then she promised the son of the President of the United States that, should he ever run for president too, she will work on his campaign team.
And here she is now. About to start working for the man who she's had a crush on since she was little!
She hasn't seen Matthew Hamilton since his dad's funeral almost eight years before. But he still has the same effect on her. She's captivated by this beautiful man.

And Matt is equally intrigued buy this beautiful girl. She's over a decade younger than him, but still, he wants her close to him.

But this young love is facing lots of problems before they can even think about a Happily Ever After....Because the most famous slogan of the Hamilton campaign is that Matt is a single guy - his wife's name is AMERICA! And should he win, it won't be with Charlotte at his side.

So they only have this one year of campaigning to be together - but even now they have to do it very stealthily, they can't be seen together....

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO CHARLOTTE & MATT????
iS THERE A CHANCE FOR A HEA??
READ IT TO FIND OUT
☺☺☺

And just so you know... there might be a tiny little Cliffy! ☺
But book #2 - Commander in Chief - will be out very soon!

I WAS SOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO READING THIS BOOK!
AND I LOVED IT!!!

With all the real-life election stuff/mess going on, we were extremely in need of an amazing future president - even if he's only a fictional one! ☺

I just loved Matt & Charlotte & the story!
What's not to love about this John Kennedy junior character? I'm still teary when I think about the fact that the real American Prince is not alive anymore.
But Matt is. And it's basically the same thing. His dad was one of the most beloved Presidents, until he wasn't anymore.
And even though Matt never wanted this, he thinks he owes it to his dad and his country to be the one to bring The Change.

It's the american version of a royal cinderella thing.
I think I started crying for the first time in the first chapter!
It's all so hopeful but yet totally hopeless.
They can't be together, because Matt has built up his whole campaign on being a single man whose only job it is to help America.
But he's also horribly falling for this girl.

If he had any other job in the world this wouldn't be a problem.
Grrrr.... we just want to fast-forward and see if and how they will get their Happy End.
But it's all so scary because we just know that it won't be easy. Or rather completely impossible.
You just can't put the book down! It's this constant buzz of excitement and sexiness and love. We so want him to win for his country. But of course we want him to lose for Charlotte.

Reading the book I was reminded of the TV series SCANDAL a lot. Without all the lawyer and criminal part. But the Olivia and Fitz part. Only no one is cheating on anyone - well Matt is kind of cheating on his wife America! ☺
Ugh, can someone please turn this book into a TV show too?!!! I would SO watch it every week!

Were there some tiny things I didn't like?
Hm, not really. Maybe the romance part - or rather the sex part - starts pretty late into the book. Not late-late. But around the middle. But once they get started it seems like they're not about to stop. It's a bit much. I know, they have to cram in all the lovemaking they can, before he might become President, but still, it was a bit too much. Nothing is basically happening. They travel all over the country and have secret sexy times and we're constantly afraid they'll be caught by the paparazzi! BUT of course we love every single second of the story, so it didn't really bother me much. But it could've/should've been a bit different. ☺

MR. PRESIDENT was an amazingly beautiful & exciting & sexy American Cinderella love story!
Run to your nearest amazon to find out who will be the next President & if Charlotte & Matt will get their Happily Ever After!

Firstly that cover - what is it about the guy undoing his cuffs that is so damn hot???

Secondly, it has been a while since I picked up a Katy Evans book, and what a way to jump back on that wagon!

Mr President has a JFK Jr feel to it, and even though I am not at all political, it made me want to go and vote (and I am not even American!!)

Charlotte - I really liked her, liked that she did what she wanted to do, not what her parents wanted her to do.  She is the daughter of a politician also, so she gets what it's all about but was never going to get into politics... until Matt.

I loved that they had the connection from when she was just a kid, that they remembered, that they still felt the connection as adults.

But grrr I wanted to slap some sense into both of them.  I could understand why things were the way they were, but both of them wanted it different and did nothing about it!  I wanted to slam their foreheads together or lock them in a room until they figured it out... though the locking in the room thing may not have worked in the right way :D

But It's Complicated would really be their Facebook relationship status.

There is plenty of sexy time with this pair.  Like a packet of Pringles - once they pop they can't stop!

I kinda mighta swooned a little bit over Matt.  Don't look at me that way, you will too when you read him!  There was just something about him that I just can't get enough of.

But just when you think things are coming to a head....  BAM

But never fear, it is not long until we get the second and final book, Commander in Chief.
But it will still feel like too long to me, as I neeeeed to know what happens with Matt and Charlotte!
