Reserved and responsible Reese Brady refuses to miss her chance with bad boy rock star Mark Ashton. After one steamy night, she's convinced the emotional connection they shared was just a figment of her imagination. After all, he’s a womanizer whose affairs are highly publicized.
Reese strives to leave that night behind her after a handsome business mogul asks her to dinner. Her relationship with Brian Fox quickly escalates into something meaningful, but Reese never expects the secret that emerges when he finally invites her to his penthouse.
She fell in love with a rock star the last time she was there. How could she know she’d fall in love with his brother next?
ARC received for an honest review
Anyone who has read my reviews knows thqt I am sucker for a rock star (well, not literally, but if they opportunity arose, well, who knows hehehe) so picking up A Little Like Destiny was a no brainer for me.
We've all had that dream/daydream where we get to meet our favourite rock star, and this is what happens to Reese. She is a quiet and reserved, but goes all out when she meets Mark for one night of passion.
Or is it?
Then she meets Brian (who for me in the end I liked a lot more than Mark). She is falling for Brian, but lusting after his brother. Ugh, and this, for me is where things started to fall apart a little.
It was not the fact they were brothers, it was more the fact the way she was leading both guys on. Don't get me wrong, I could understand her being torn between the two, however there was something about the way Reese went about things that irked me.
I got to about 60% and I had to roll my eyes. By 70% I was telling both buys to run run away.
I think Reese just needed to grow up and grow a pair! But this could just be me.
My heart hurt for the two men she was stringing along, and I just wanted to hug them both.
Now, don't get me wrong, I did like the story, it was just her!
We are left on a bit of a cliffhanger with A Little Like Destiny, but the second part comes out in September, so it is not too long before we get our conclusion.
As much as things irritated me, I am invested in finding out what happens with Reese, Mark and Brian.
