In this powerfully emotional debut New Adult novel, Avery has just met her hot upstairs neighbor. He’s irresistible. Tattooed. And a virgin.

Nursing student Avery Michaels wants nothing to do with dating—she’s perfectly happy single.  Privy to too many of her mother’s bad decisions and even worse taste in boyfriends, all Avery can handle is a string of uncomplicated hookups whenever the mood strikes.

When she meets smoking hot tattoo artist Bennett, she wants him—for just one night. But he won’t accept a no-strings-attached arrangement. He lives by a straight-laced code of values based on his own troubled upbringing.

Bennett sees something special in Avery and he wants more from her. Way more. As Avery wrestles with her emotions for Bennett, danger and tragedy force them to open up to each other. And Avery must face the terrifying realization that she wants more from him, too.

So she needs to make a choice—let Bennett go or finally let him in.

My Opinion

I loved it!

It's a really sweet and sexy Romance.

Avery doesn't have the best role model in her mother - who's been going from boyfriend to boyfriend, depending on the guys for everything - ever since Avery can remember. That's why she never wants to be like her mom. She wants to live her life on her own terms. Have sex when she wants it and dump the guy right after.

Then she meets Bennett - he only does relationships. He has his own 'mother-problems' to deal with - but he decided to deal with them differently.
He's still a virgin!!! He wants to wait until he finds the right person - until he falls in love.

'I'm sorry you have to be attracted to someone like me. I can't be that girl for you, Bennett.'
'You can't, or you won't?'
'Both.'

And that right person might just be Avery - but she's not really sure about that. She's scared that she will lose herself in Bennett.

Those two have sparks flying like crazy between them. But they start out as friends - after Bennett rescues her one night.

WILL THERE BE A HAPPY END???
WILL THEY DECIDE TO RISK EVERYTHING THEY WERE FIGHTING FOR -
FOR A CHANCE OF REAL LOVE?

I'm not telling you ☺ you have to read the book!!! ☺

I really enjoyed it -
Avery is a really strong girl - with lots of fears. And then there's the thing that happened with her mom's boyfriend when she was 16. Bennett doesn't have an easy road ahead with her ☺

And poor Bennett - he's been the man in his family forever! He's been taking care of his mom and little sisters. He's sooo adorable - he's an art-student and a tattoo artist!!! That soo doesn't fit with his virginal state ☺

They're soo cute together - they way they both try to NOT do anything about this insane attraction.

Then we have a cast of guest stars - the mothers - sisters and Avery's brother - who's the most important person in her life. He thankfully doesn't suffer too much from still living with his mother.
Avery has two best friends - I felt that the story would've been better without them. They don't get the attention they deserve - so it would've been better to not write them into the story at all.
Yes - they're always there for Avery - but still - I didn't really connect with them.
(maybe it was because they kept calling each other bitch and dill wad and names like that all the time - I don't dislike bad words - but this felt stupid!)
BUT - we kind of needed to get to know them - because the next book will be about Ella ☺ It's not a book#2 thing - but only a 'companion' book ☺

BEFORE YOU BREAK

That's the only thing I didn't like about the book.

Well - maybe another thing - I didn't find out where we are?? I didn't even know if it was the US or England?? Canada? Albania? The author names a couple of towns but no city or country - I don't like that - I want to know where I am - so that I can picture the place in my head! Maybe it was somewhere New England-ish - there was Clam-eating and something about Lakes.

The book reminded me of Samantha Young's DOWN LONDON ROAD - with the heroine having a little brother  - and a horrible mother etc.

ALL IN ALL - I REALLY LOVED AVERY & BENNETT!!!
it was a sweet - sexy - romantic - New Adult Romance!!!

ABOUT CHRISTINA
  stolen from her Homepage

Once upon a time, I lived in New York City and was a fashion stylist. I spent my days shopping for photo shoots, getting into cabs, eating amazing food, and drinking coffee at my favorite hangouts.

Now I live in my hometown of Cleveland, with my husband and son—my two favorite guys. I’ve always been an avid reader—reading was actually my favorite time of day when I taught second and third grade.

But it wasn’t until I became a local newspaper columnist that something clicked. I finally realized I could turn my love of words into my dream of writing fiction.

I write Young Adult and New Adult fiction.
I am represented by Sara Megibow of the Nelson Literary Agency.

I also own a hand-stamped jewelry business called Tags-n-Stones, which requires me to stamp letters and/or words onto pieces of silver. They go hand-in-hand perfectly.
