Just like book one, this didn't grab me the way Jennifer's books usually do.
I don't know what it was. Again it felt a bit old-ish. Like it was written in 1991. And it was a bit too... no idea. I wanted to stop reading several times in the first 25%. First of all Malia got on my nerves so badly. Her constant anti-Palmer talk. She was just horrible. I wanted to throw her out the window! And Palmer is not much better. We kinda love him - the hot billionaire type - but he's way too pushy in his pursuit of her. She says no once, okay, try it again. But after 3048 nos, walk away dude! And then he prays before dinner! Religion is a hard limit for me in books - I just hate it.
I don't know why this series seems so different to Jen's other books.
I kept on reading and it was cute and sparky and fun - but this will not be my favorite series.
But I will still read the 3rd book! Ford & Tessa!
The most interesting scenes are the ones with the girls' adopted dad Mike and teacher Emma! And I liked that we get to meet people from five of Jen's books for a second. (She did that to celebrate her 50th book release!)
SO IT GOES was another cute and sparky romance in this new series! READ IT!
ARC received for an honest review
After DNFing my last JP read, I was hoping for more this time.
Well, I did finish this one, but I will say that I nearly put this one down for good more than once.
I liked the connection between our lovelis, but man oh man, Chiara in particular, and Sebastian tried my patience.
I got the best friend/dead wife thing was something they had to overcome, but sheesh, did they drag that out. I wanted to tell Ryder to run run run just as fast as he can away from her. I am glad they removed heads from sphincters, but it was hard work for me to get to the end.
So, whilst this was not my favourite Jen Probst story, it wasn't the worst.
But I think for a while it is time for me to walk away from them and come back fresh down the track.
