Well, this was sexy and heartbreaking!
I hate it when my book people had to go through so much heartbreak before we even meet them! Poor Benjamin!
He needs to start living again. And Elena could help. But their 'relationship' is not really one for talking and getting to know one another ... not yet at least.
I really liked reading it. It was so heartbreakingly sad!
But of course also very erotic and adorable.
But I also hated a lot of it.
First of all, there was way too much of Elena's bestie in here. It's like we were told her whole story again. She was the star of the 2nd book in this series! It was a bit too much.
And then - my hard limit number one. RELIGION. GOD. CHURCH.
Ugh - I hate that - I don't want that in my romance book - especially not in very erotic romances.
I almost stopped reading when they first started with that sh*t! But I kept on reading - fast-forwarding a lot.
I liked the story and the people, but it wasn't my book this time!
Even though I counted only SIX this time - maybe I overlooked some because I fast forwarded a lot this time .... BUT ... I had some problems with the writing...as with every Sawyer book.
It's Sawyer's and my THING ☺ It's only me who has those problems with her writing. So please don't be worried or just scroll down and don't read the following...
I have a HUGE AS problem! ☺ You know the AS's I'm talking about? The AS that could/should be exchanged for a SINCE or a BECAUSE or just a comma/dot/pause/whatever.☺ It's a British and or a legal thing (if it's a thing at all!) and it doesn't have anything to do in an American book by an American author. I would be ok with it if one (British) character would use it, but everyone uses it! I really don't want to insult Sawyer. I love her books, but ... please stop doing it. But pfff who am I to tell her what to do, so just forget I said anything! It doesn't stop her books from being great!
WICKED ANGEL was another very sexy & heartbreaking romance in this series!

Woohoo, back to Sin City and the Wicked Horse we go!
Sexy and sensual, heartbreaking and hopeful, Benjamin and Elena go through it all. Bennett has a way with her words that just gets me every single time.
I love how Elena knows what she is after. She has had enough of the same type of man, and has taken things into her own hands (not literally!).
I fell in love with them as a couple - or are they - as the story progressed. I loved Benjamin coming back out of his shell and becoming the man his family and friends remembered him. He is experienced so much, but there is still so much more to live for. There is a lot of character growth for both Elena and Benjamin.
One thing though that is not my jam is the church and God stuff - this is just my thing and probably won't bother anyone else.
I think this is the conclusion to the Wicked Horse Veas series (I thought the last one was too haha) but I would not say no to more in the future.
