✪ The Thief ✪ Kate McCarthy ✪

After years of working in the family business, Arcadia Ace Jones has become a renowned car thief. Trained from a tender age, its the only life shes ever known. Longing for a future that doesnt hold the promise of prison, she makes the decision to go straight and earn an honest living.

But the Marchetti Organisation wont accept her retirement, forcing her to complete a job so big its almost impossible. Shes on a tight deadline but an irritating biker dude keeps thwarting her attempts to deliver.

Kelly Daniels likes to tinker with bikes and cars. Hes content with operating the car restoration business he owns alongside his partners, until an annoying little thief manages to steal a Dodge Charger right out from under his nose.

He gets pulled into her treacherous scheme and they form an unlikely bond. When it becomes a race against the clock to pull off the heist of the century or end up behind bars, Ace and Kelly realise they have more to lose than their freedomeach other.

ARC received for an honest review

The Thief is a stand alone, spin off of Ms McCarthy's Give Me series, and whilst it can be read without reading the series, I would at least read Give Me Grace as it Kelly's brother Casey's story and it does intertwine.

I freaking adore Ace.  She is smart and full of sass and snark.  Trying to get out of the "family business" is not working so well for her at the moment, and I love how she tries to do it all on her own.

Then Kelly Daniels enters her life, and he is all she never expected - and definitely not who she ever wanted.

I loved  that even though they have their differences, both Ace and Kelly act (mostly) like adults and talk stuff out - none of this not talking and walking away BS here!

They also have some great back up when the poo hits the fan.  I really, really want Echo as my best friend.  Ace will share her, right?

I am a big fan of classic/muscle cars, so I may have drooled over some of the cars in The Thief. Oh, and maybe a little bit of Kelly too hehe.

It is hard to write this review without giving anything away, however I was engrossed in this story from the prologue right until the end.

Great characters, flowing story.  Now I am impatiently waiting for the next book - we meet the characters for that one in The Thief.

Please don't keep me waiting too long Ms McCarthy.
