From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forgeteven though he so easily forgot about meand call him.

Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you’ve had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on himunloading thirteen years of pent-up emotions.

I didn’t think he’d call me back.

I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he’d become.

Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn’t know. And he had his own secrets.

Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again. Only this time, I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake.

ARC received for an honest review

Firstly, I freaking love this cover.  I am not usually one to even look at the covers, but this one has me captivated.

And the fact that Ms Ward has written the character of Landon based on the looks of the cover model - even better!  Who needs a pesky imagination when it is right there in front of you?

Secondly - raise your hand if you have ever done the dreaded drunk dial to your ex/crush/anyone?

If your hand is down, I think you may be telling a little fib ☺

If only my drunk dial turned out as well at Rana's did.

I love a good second chance romance, and Rana and Landon's ticked all the boxes for me.

It is sweet and adorable, but also a little heartbreaking at times.  Our lovelies have so much from their pasts that they haven't yet dealt with, so how can they move forward and find their HEA?  They are both sweet, broken souls that need to heal each other.
Sigh, I just wanted to hug them so hard.

I really enjoyed Drunk Dial, and I feel that this may be moving to the top of my favourite Penelope Ward reads.

Rana and Landon were best friends for a while when they were 13. Rana's family used to live on Landon's family's property. Until they were kicked out for not paying rent.
Now they're both 26 and one drunken night Rana calls Landon to let him know what she thinks of him and his family - he never even said goodbye back then.
And thus starts a very weird, but very exciting & adorable phone-friendship / courtship. With Rana in Detroit, Michigan and Landon in Venice, California.

But they might see each other sooner than they imagined ....

What will happen to Rana & Landon?
Will there be a chance for a HEA?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!

I was so looking forward to reading this!
And I loved it!!
First of all - the cover! Phew!!!!

I love that Penelope really wrote Landon after Vadim on the cover - the tattoos, the ear stud. Perfect!
Many covers these days suck - I just read a book about a blond surfer guy and the guy on the cover had short dark hair :/

Anyway - this book was really adorable.
Heartbreakingly moving and full of hope and second chances and very funny moments ... I really enjoyed reading it.

Both Landon and Rana are very broken and lonely people. They need each other to heal and start living  again. Not that they're dead now, but they're just going through the daily motions - especially Rana with her dancing job.
And both have not yet really dealt with whatever happened in their pasts.

But how can they get their HEA when he's in California and she's in Michigan???

This reader definitely had an amazing time watching them fight for their Happily Ever After!!!

DRUNK DIAL was such a heartbreakingly moving & funny & romantic & sexy love story! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Landon - this one is MINE!!!
and I mean Landon in the book and Vadim on the cover!!!

If I had to name some things I didn't love-love. Maybe Landon was a bit too softish. I loved him sooo much....but the way he talked and acted ... it was not really the bad-boy I was expecting.
