Baseball isn’t supposed to be a game of life and death

The summer that Chase Stern entered my life, I was seventeen. The daughter of a legend, the Yankees were my family, their stadium my home, their dugout my workplace. My focus was on the game. Chase... he started out as a distraction. A distraction with sex appeal poured into every inch of his six foot frame. A distraction who played like a god and partied like a devil.

I tried to stay away.
I couldn’t.

Then, the team started losing.
Women started dying.
And everything in my world broke apart.

This is the love story of Ty and Chase.
Ty has been in love with baseball ever since she was seven years old and the death of her mom led her to live in the world of baseball with her baseball-playing Daddy.

She's come to love every little thing about the sport.
She's now 17 and still in love with it.
She's the ball girl for her dad's team - the New York Yankees.
The team every little baseball boy dreams of playing for one day.

Chase Storm was just such a little boy once.
And now his dream is finally coming true.
After being fired by his Los Angeles team after being a drug-taking, teammate's-wife-stealing idiot, the team trades him to NY!

Ty's dad is worried about the new guy on his team - worried he's going to go after his little girl.
And Ty & Chase's first meeting kind of proves him right. The first time Ty sees him, Chase is naked! And Ty can't look away. ☺
And of course Chase is horrible fascinated by this adorable and sexy girl in his locker room.

But she's too young and a teammate's daughter. He can't do anything about his attraction.
Or can he?
Will she let him?
And what about that preppy team-owner-son sniffing around his Ty?
And what about those girls that are killed once every baseball season? Does that have anything to do with Chase? Ty? The team?
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH TY & CHASE???
WILL THERE BE A HEA???
OR WILL THE LIES & HEARTBREAK BE TOO MUCH?
WILL EVERYBODY SURVIVE??
WILL THERE BE A CLIFFY???

I'm not telling you that of course

No Cliffy!!! It's a standalone!

I LOOOOVED THIS STORY!

I had absolutely no idea what to expect from this book.
I'm not a Baseball fan. Germans don't do Baseball. We don't play it. Don't watch it. Don't understand it.☺
BUT, I know how Americans are about this sport and I was open to get to know it a bit better. I still don't know anything about it though☺There were a few expressions that I just didn't get - but it didn't stop me from loving this book!

And I reallllllly really enjoyed this story.
The way Ty talks about her love of the sport and how she's such a big part of the team without even playing. The whole baseball-loving atmosphere. I loved that.

The chemistry between Ty and Chase! Perfect. They shouldn't be together - it's illegal in the beginning, with her only being 17. But they're just so perfect together.

The sad little boy Chase with this big loss in his past and all his guilt about it. And little Ty growing up without any female support, surrounded by ball-players. You hope all through the book that they'll get their happy ending one day and that nothing bad will happen... But of course that's not what's happening!

I was kind of expecting something a little bit different - the blurb and the genre description made me think of a quick Romantic Suspense Sports Novel with both our darlings being in their late twenties.
BUT it was so much more.
It starts as a Young Adult thing with Ty only being 17 and it turned into much more.
Once Chase enters the picture it all gets more romantic & exciting & heartbreaking for Ty and the reader.
I'm not telling you what all happens once Chase appears in the story....but you'll love it. And you'll hate it and you'll be happy and sad for everyone involved!
It's sexy and adorable and suspensy and frustrating and moving and heartbreakingly sad ... ugh...
Just read it. It's a great story!
And I want to see it on TV or the big screen asap please!!!

MOONSHOT was such a heartbreakingly beautiful & adorable & sexy & suspensy unputdownable 2nd chance love-story! You can't help falling in love with Ty and Chase and their love for Baseball and each other. Once they did things that tore them apart, but now, they're aiming for a Moonshot ... But will they get their Happily Ever After??? Run to your nearest amazon to find out!! It's SO worth it!

If I had to find something about the story that I didn't like all that much...
The suspense part. I think the whole book would've been totally lovable without the whole killer-on-the-loose part. I didn't need it and in the end it was wrapped up way too quickly. It all happend way too uneventful - nobody really got to be a hero and nobody ... well - I can't say anymore without spoiling. I just think the whole suspense part wasn't really needed to make this book worth reading!
Also - but that's happening in most books. Dear hero and heroine, try talking to each other - it most often prevents stupid things from happening! ☺

ARC received for an honest review

I wasn't really sure what to expect with Moonshot.  But it is an Alessandra Torre, and she has never done me wrong yet.

I am the most unathletic, unfit person I know, but I do love a sports romance.  I have never played baseball, never watched it, but I LOVE to read about it.

The story started out with the characters being a lot younger than I was expecting - not sure why, but I was surprised that Ty was only 17 when it all started.  Not that this affected my enjoyment at all.

And Chase... he just has exudes that bad boy vibe.

They are so wrong but so right for each other, and it is fascinating watching them circle each other.

There is so much more between them than just sexual attraction and tension.  Their pasts have kind of defined them for a while (maybe not to anyone else but to themselves) and  seeing them grow and move on from this was wonderful.

There was a suspensey story running in the background that I felt was  a little redundant.  It didn't detract from things, but it didn't really add to the story that was Ty and Chase, didn't really affect where their characters went in life.  This might just be me though.

I wanted to shake some sense in to our lovelies at times, tell them to communicate dammit!
Moonshot is a heartwarming but at times heartbreaking story of first love, true love.

"First loves were supposed to be flimsy and temperamental.  They were supposed to burn bright and fade fast.  They weren't supposed to stick.  They weren't supposed to eat away at a man's heart, his capacity for life."

I couldn't wait to turn each page to see what would happen next.  And now it is over, I can't wait to see what Ms Torre brings us next.
