Welcome to Nuevo Laredo

A note to readers from author Jennifer Chance:

Because WANT IT is a romance, not a military suspense book, I found I had to focus very hard on not writing scenes that were too action-adventurey. But one character who just refused to leave the narrative was Rey Torres. Rey is a shadowy friend of a friend who shows up to help Zander and Erin when they need it most, on their quest to free Erins mother. Hes smart and funny and a little too happy to bend the rules, but he fits well with the more serious Zander and goes a long way toward making Erin feel just a bit safer in a strange country. Here Rey touches on the danger that exists in Nuevo Laredo, even while trying to reassure Erin. Its a difficult balance to strike!
You doing good back there?
Zanders words brought her back and Erin blinked. Yes! Yes, all good. They were approaching a long line of cars at a bridge, and she was struck with how, well, how normal everything seemed. Not that she wanted a big shoot-out at the Mexican O.K. Corral, but if they went through this with no more trouble than a trip to the grocery, she admitted that a small part of her would be . . . ever so slightly disappointed. Shed read a tiny amount about the drug trade in Mexico, and about people who ran afoul of the dealers. It seemed a lot more scary on the Internet than it did driving around in a rental car.
She frowned as they drove past the first bridge. Isnt that where were headed?
Rey glanced at her in the rearview mirror, his ever-present smile still curving the edge of his mouth. No, maam. Thats what we call Bridge Number Onea good enough bridge, dont get me wrong. But the one we want is Bridge Number Two. I have a pass for the SENTRI lane there. He tapped a small hang-card hed slung over the rearview mirror.
Like an express lane? she asked, and Rey nodded.
Exactly like that.
They turned onto the bridge, and Erin watched the sunlight playing over scorched concrete as they made their way across the arching expanse. So, is it really as dangerous here as I read about? Should I be worried?
You? Not at all. Rey shrugged. You have Zander with you, and he seems like a smart guy. You seem like a smart woman. With two smart people, I have found that there is never much need to be worried. They bumped off the bridge and down onto the street, Rey handling the vehicle easily to get over to the first exit, heading west. Now if you were dumb? Well, that would be another thing altogether. Camino Real, yes? Rey asked, and Zander nodded, while Rey flashed Erin a bright grin in the rearview mirror. Then your adventure begins, my very smart friends. Welcome to Nuevo Laredo.

Boston

Four years ago some bad decisions on both sides broke Erin and Zander apart. They've been in love all through their teenage years - the hellraising thrill-seeking son of a strict military Dad and the quiet, nerdy art-lover, who lives with her grandma because her mother is not really all that dependable.

They haven't seen each other for a long time, but now Erin needs Army-Ranger Zander's help.
Her mom is being held captive in Mexico and she's been told to go down there with lots of money to get her mother back. And since she knows Zander would never help her after what happened four years ago, she still wants to try to at least ask him for some info about how to go about her rescue-mission.

Even though she's holding lots of information back from him, Zander knows that Erin is horribly scared - and he wants to help. He also wants to have sex with her - just one time to get her out of his mind forever!

But he can't let her walk into a dangerous situation all by herself ....

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO ERiN &ZANDER???
WiLL THERE BE A HEA???
WiLL THERE BE A CLiFFHANGER???

 Nope . . . I'm not telling you ☺

WANT IT was a really sexy Romantic Suspense story!!

Zander is this totally hot and capable soldier who we all fall immediately in love with ☺
And Erin is such a sweet and quiet girl - we can't help but love her too!

There are lots of sexy scenes
...

The main focus is not really on the suspense part. It's more about both of them overcoming whatever they have to overcome to finally find their way to each other again - but of course they don't know that they want to find their way to each other again at first!! ☺ And that's the fun part - for us at least - to read how they fight their way through all their pain and resentment against each other...

I really loved the story.

But just like the last book in this series - Zander and Erin appear much older... Zander is supposed to be this big Army Ranger and the way everybody talks about him, you'd think he was at least 30 - but they're only 22...  :/
Didn't bother me much - but I just think Jennifer could've made them both a few years older...
It doesn't feel like a New Adult thing....

BUT - I still really loved the story!

WANT IT was a really sexy and cute and slightly suspensy Romance - you will soooo fall in love with Zander!!! ♥

And now hurry Jennifer - I want to read RISK IT!!! ☺

3.5 to 4 stars for me for Want It

I have enjoyed the whole series so far from Jennifer Chance and while I did
like this book, I didn't love it as much as the others.

I couldn't really connect with Erin. After reading about her in the first
two books, I felt like she was so much older than 22. She is the mother hen
of the group so I assumed she was a lot older.

I loved Zander to bits though. The things he has seen in the past four years
would jad anyone and you can feel this in him.

What I didn't understand though was the way Erin always jumped in to save
her mother. I really dislike the mother, so selfish to the core who deserves a slap
rather than her daughter's help. Even when things happened and got cleared
up I still didnt' feel any remorse from what she has done to Erin over the
years - gah this frustrated me!!

The chemistry between Zander and Erin is off the charts hot. There is no
way the heart could ever compete with that attraction, so you could feel
the inevitability of the two getting together, but loved the journey they took
to get their relationship back where it should have been all alng.

I look forward to reading Risk It and any more of Ms Chance's future work.

I come by romance honestly, having spent several years writing adult romance and entering romance contests through Romance Writers of America–including finaling twice in the prestigious Golden Heart contest and winning once. But despite these and other contest wins, my first published novel came not in adult romance, but as a writer of YA historical fiction (you can read all about my Elizabethan spy girls stories, the Maids of Honor, here.)
Still, despite my love of Elizabethan spies, I could never quite give up those super Alpha contemporary romance heroes. So, in the summer of 2013, I decided to see if perhaps I might still have a romance or two up my sleeve.
I wrote a tale about a girl whose biggest high-school and college crush–a rock star–suddenly becomes her biggest client, only now she has to be professional and not betray the fact that she’s completely in love with the guy. It was a fun, sexy, romantic fantasy, and I suggested the idea to my agent… who asked what other ideas I had in addition to this story. Shortly after, the Rule Breakers series was born.
To separate these books from my historical work, I adopted the name Jennifer Chance. I am now pursuing my dreams (pretty much round the clock as it turns out) and am THRILLED to be able to have four e-books coming out in 2014 and early 2015, all with Random House LoveSwept’s New Adult romance line.
As to what will happen from here, who knows? But as long as there is a story to be written and an HEA to be had, I’ll be the one over in the corner, tapping away on my keyboard.

Jennifer is offering up two fabulous prizes during the Want It Blitz Event. One lucky Grand Prize winner will receive a Seasons Greetings Gift Basket and one Runner Up will receive a $25 Gift Card for Amazon or B&N (winners choice)! To enter, simply fill out the Rafflecopter below:
