Adrian Wellington was beyond devastated when his wife, Shay, left him seventeen years ago without warning or explanation. She filed for divorce and left town, right when he needed her most. He’s since opened his own thriving business and has been going through the motions of day-to-day life, but not really living. He knows there’s just something missing, or rather someone.
Shay Bradshaw ran from the love of her life with a deep, dark, unforgivable secret. She took the cowardly way out and just disappeared. She moved across the country and as far away from the Wellington family as she could get, and the only man she’s ever loved. She made a promise to herself to never be the person she was all those years ago. She took with her the secret that she thought was hers to bear alone.
When Shay is forced to move back home to care for her mother, naturally karma would choose that time for their worlds to collide once again.
Can lightning strike a second time seventeen years later and bring two destined souls back together, or will Shay’s secret destroy their second chance?
The truth, although not what is seems, will set your heart free.
ARC received for an honest review
Although this is the 3rd book in the Running Into Love series, it could be read as a stand alone. BUT if you do, you will be missing out on two other great stories. There is enough information about the other characters to get the gist of what is happening, but you will miss out on the specifics of things.
It's been 17 years since Shay walked out of Adrian's life, but now she has come back into his life and knocked him off his feet - literally.
From the first scene they are together you can just feel that pull and their attraction to each other. It may have been a long time since they have even seen each other, but their bodies and their hearts know what they want.
I loved Shay. Yes, there were things that happened, and yes some of them were all her fault, but she owns her mistakes. I loved that although she talks tough, she is completely vulnerable when it comes to Adrian. My heart absolutely ached for her at times, but at other times I was all "you go girl!"
And I loved that Adrian, still after all this time, his heart is all Shay's. Through all the hurt, miscommunications, and confusions, he has always been hers.
Now we just need these people to talk to each other. Communication people!!! Secrets are never a good thing, even if they are kept for the right reasons.
The Wellington family (Adrian's family) are beautiful. So much love, so much caring there. And when they cause so much hurt, so much humility and grief. We all need a big extended family like theirs in our lives.
I have to admit that I did shed more than one tear whilst reading Second Chance. There were some things from the past that just tugged the heartstrings and there was no way you could not feel for the characters.
I am sure we all love a Second Chance at romance book, and this one was just beautiful. Right from the start I was hoping that Adrian and Shay could work through their issues and get back together, as you could just tell that they were soul mates, meant to be together.
But do they end up together - uh uh, for that you are going to have to read for yourself.
Now, I am impatiently waiting for more of Max and Chloe, and after the set up in this book, Ava and Jax's story.
If you are looking for a sweet romance to read, I definitely recommend the Running Into Love series.

I am an “Indie” contemporary romance author. I live in
California with my husband and two teenage boys. I love being a stay at home
mom. My husband and I enjoy wine tasting and camping with our kids with our
four wheelers in the middle of nowhere, where you can find me with my pink
Ryder BB gun!
We have a handful of pets, a dog named Lucy (who is in
my books) and a guinea pig named Flufy (my son spelled her name that way) and a
cat who adopted us many years ago and has never left. She is a spoiled outdoor
cat with her own two story house and a heated bed.
I never liked reading as a kid. I only started reading
romance novels in the past few years. My Kindle and I are inseparable now. A
thought occurred to me in December of 2012 that maybe I could write a romance
novel. So I went to work with the encouragement of my husband and my
sister-in-law. It didn’t
take long to figure out that I really enjoyed writing.
Today I am a self published author and it has been an
amazing journey. Email me at authorannalisanicole@yahoo.com
