Let Love Stay - Melissa Collins - Review and Giveaway

Blurb:
If youre lucky, youll fall in love truly, madly and deeply in love.  But what happens when that honest and pure love isnt enough to erase your fears?  What happens when your past rears its ugly head and threatens your future?

Maddy and Reid had that kind of love the all-encompassing, Earth shattering, once in a lifetime kind of love.  Then life happened.  Old wounds that were thought to be long healed and scabbed over are ripped opened and they are forced to face the possibility that, maybe, they are not strong enough to fight their demons and embrace the light.

Together, they found out what love is, but now they will each need to heal on their own before they can ever be together again.  They must face their fears and beat down their pasts in order to find their way through this crazy uphill battle called love.

Theyve let love in, but now, they need to find out how to Let Love Stay.

Review:
Melissa Collins has done it again with Let Love Stay. This follows in directly from where Let Love In ends.  I could not put it down once I started (leading to a very late night and one grumpy blogger the next morning!!)

Maddy knows she has done the wrong thing by pushing Reid away when she needs him the most, but does not know how to fix it.  Pregnant and alone, she heads back to Momma's house.

Reid knows he shouldn't have walked away, but promises himself that he will fix the things in his past before trying to win her back.

Reid has had some terrible things happen in his past, and it has been 5 years since he properly dealt with them.  A phone call from a stranger makes him realise that as hard as it is, he needs closure on his past.

I wanted to reach into the book and hug Reid - so alone for so long, did he have it in him to return?  My heart broke for him at times.

I so wanted Maddy and Reid to be together and have their HEA, It was just so sad when their stubborness and fears had them apart.  The emotions were palpable.  They just don't work without each other in their lives.

I was glad that Maddy owned up to her mistake - I hate it when the characters have stuffed things up and don't own it.

“Love is always complicated. You can’t expect to hand your soul over to someone else without any bumps along the way.” -Momma

This is not just a love story, it is a story of acceptance, loss, grief.  It is a story of how two broken people can move through and carry on when the right person is there with you.

The cast of support characters all had their role in bringing Maddy and Reid's relationship full circle, and they made me laugh, cry, cheer.  It makes you realise that family are the people you have around you, not just "blood".

Well done Melissa Collins -fantastic way to complete Maddy and Reid's story.

Author Bio:
Ive always been an avid reader.  Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer.  Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer.  Ive spent the last ten years teaching and Ive loved (mostly) every minute of it.  When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity.  My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldnt wait to get it out there.  I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
