Blog Tour Stop - Take Two by Laurelin Paige

Hes ready for his close up, but shes the one calling the shots.

On the night of her graduation from film school, straight-laced Maddie Bauers fell completely out of character for an oh-my-god make-out session with a perfect stranger. Complete with the big O.

Seven years later, that romantic interlude is still fresh in her mind. That stranger is now a rich and famous actor. And shes one very distracted camera assistant working on his latest production. She might consider another trystif he even remembers her.

Micah Preston does indeed remember Maddie. Too bad hes sworn off Hollywood relationships. He allows himself as much sex as he likesand oh, he does likebut anything more is asking for trouble. For the woman, not for him. Yet knowing Maddie could want more than a movie-set fling doesnt stop him from pursuing her like a moth drawn to hot stage lights.

But as the shoot nears its end, its decision time. Is it time to call, Cut! on their affair, or is there enough material for a sequel?

Warning: Contains a dreamy movie star hero, a focus-pulling heroine, off-the-charts instant chemistry, steamy sex in near-public locations, and a new use for lip gloss.

ARC Received for honest review

Take Two is a book about second chances.  After a brief but oh so sexy encounter years back, Maddie and Micah have moved on and become successful in their careers.

7 years down the track and their worlds collide again on the set of a Hollywood blockbuster.  And neither has forgotten their short, short time together.

Maddie is now a successful focus puller on Hollywood movies.  Her career dreams of becoming a director have been stymied by the director who is now the director on this current movie.  He is a douche and I wanted to bitch slap him!!
Micah is now the big Hollywood star.  But he remembers "Maddie from the party", and has always kind of regretted not keeping in contact with her. The things people do for their careers!  But now they are back working together, he can't get his mind off her, and will do anything and everything to make her notice him.

I wanted to scream at him for some of the things that he did, he really did cause some problems!!

I loved how Maddie stood up to him, as much as she wanted him.  She would not settle for being Micah's dirty little secret, meeting in secret and hiding their relationship from everyone.  She kept him at arms length (as much as any sane girl could anyway) and was not going to make things easy for him. Go Maddie!

I could also understand why Micah would want to keep the relationship on the down low, knowing how vicious the paparazzi could be.
And he may have done a few things that made me swoon.  Perhaps he could be the guy Maddie needs.

Take Two is a great Hollywood themed romance, giving a bit of an insight to what it would probably be like, the differences in the industry for those in front of and those behind the cameras.

Ms Paige kept me interested from the first page to the last, I enjoyed every minute of the rollercoaster that was Maddie and Micah's relationship.  She drew me right into their lives, there was the right mix of laughter, sadness, angst, frustration.  I ran through the whole range of emotions while I was reading.

Can Micah and Maddie overcome these differences and dramas, and make up for lost time?

For that, you are going to have to read for yourself.

Ms Paige's writing let the story flow easily and let the story be told the way it needed to be.  The characters developed well, we saw growth in all the main characters that did not seem over the top like we see with so many other stories.

This is the first work of Ms Paige's that I have had the pleasure to read, but I am sure I will go back and read more of her others.
