A hockey team captain and a bubbly staffer mix business with pleasure when they start fake dating through the wedding season in this hot sports romance perfect for fans of Mariana Zapata and Elle Kennedy.

Darcy Kendrick is used to putting out fires. As an overworked admin to a hockey team, she’s seen it all. But nothing prepares her for accidentally DMing her very private, very NSFW fantasy to the subject of this fantasy: team captain Eric Tremaine. Nobody actually dies of embarrassment. Right?

But when a wedding invite puts them on a collision course with her chaotic family and his emotionally fraught past, Eric suggests a plan: they fake-date their way through the “Wedding Experience.” It’s mutually beneficial. Totally strategic. And definitely not real. Except between mini tacos, slow dances and lingering glances, Eric starts to wonder if the sharp-tongued assistant with a bottomless to-do list might be the one person who truly sees him. And for Darcy? The fire in her heart might be the only one she can’t put out.

It’s supposed to be fake. It’s supposed to be temporary. So why is it so hard to walk away?

Oh, how I loved Thrown For A Loop, so of course I was excited for Big Stick Energy.

And I was not disappointed.

If Eric was a dog, he would be a Lab, always helping and people pleasing.  Darcy is more the bubbly but anxious chihuahua, always running back and forward.  But together, they are just *chef's kiss*

And I love how when they decide to hook up, they think they are so secretive bahahaha

Look, I am a hockey fan from way back, and sometimes there is no enough hockey, or too much hockey.  Ms Bowen gives us a wonderful balance of both. I also liked getting more of the behind the scenes of the sport, the admin of getting a pro hockey team sorted.

My best part though, is the way Darcy is with her boss.  He could have come across as a bit of a real dick, but she is like nope, and talks to him the way I bet everyone wishes the could - and gets away with it because that is the great relationship they have.

It was also great to see more of Chase and Zoe from Thrown For A Loop, and learning more about the other guys on the team, and I have my fingers crossed we get lot more of them in the future

Darcy + Eric

We all remember team captain Eric and GM assistant Darcy.
Darcy has had a bit of a crush on Eric for years.
But Eric thinks that she kinda hates him - him! He, who is so nice and kind to everyone.
When a super sexy text accidentally lands in his inbox instead of Zoe's - it's on! Eric can't stop thinking about Darcy. About her thinking of him that way.
When they're both - separately - invited to a wedding near their home town ...they decide to go together.
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN...

That was so adorable!
Eric is this super hot golden retriever hockey captain - we can't fault Darcy for having a thing for him. Same, girl!
The season's over and now they have time to get to know each other as fake dating wedding guests. But the more time they spend together, the more real it gets.
But we also have lots of complicated family and work problems. So it won't be easy for our darlings.

I really enjoyed reading this. We don't get too much over the top drama and silly immature stuff.
This was a sweet and sparky and funny and just adorable hockey romance without too much hockey in it - loved that!

I also loved all the adorable cameos. Can't wait to read DeLuca's book next!

BIG STICK ENERGY was such a cute romance! Sparky, Funny, Sexy, Adorable...
I loved reading it! Run to your nearest bookdealer for your own Eric!

🏳️‍🌈 Broken Pride (Texas Pride Series) 🏳️‍🌈 Kindle Alexander 🏳️‍🌈

Mega movie star Slade Whitaker lives under a constant microscope. Fame, fortune, and a global fanbase come at a hefty personal price of keeping his true self tightly under wraps. One he escapes from every year to his secluded West Texas ranch, far from the relentless paparazzi and the dark side of Hollywood.

For Mason Sutton, life used to be simple. Long days spent on the rich Texas soil and the quiet, steady comfort of his beloved rodeo mare, Wildflower. But one tragic afternoon shatters everything, leaving him alone to rebuild the pieces of his life. The last thing Mason wants is a sexy temptation with a great strut wreaking havoc on his broken life.

In the quiet countryside, far from cameras and gossip columns, the line between fantasy and reality blurs. Will they risk their futures for a chance at love, or will the fear of being exposed destroy the one thing that might finally make them whole?

A steamy MM celebrity romance featuring a movie star, a Texas cowboy, small-town heat, emotional hurt/comfort, and a secret relationship that could change everything.

Heading back to the Texas Pride series was like heading back home, into a warm hug from your family.
Broken Pride gives us everything we expect from a Kindle Alexander story.
Beautiful settings, men that we can't help falling for, a wonderful love - but also we hit harder, darker times as well.
Slade Whitaker is the movie start trying to set himself up with a quieter lifestyle - a la Austin in Texas Pride.  Mason is the small town guy who has been hiding away for too long.  I loved how Slade called "dibs" on Mace in front of his friends hahaha.  Oh the way he was with Wyatt was funny.
Whilst Slade is trying to keep of the public eye because of his celebrity, my heart heart for Mace as we learn why he has become so insular with his life. He is the more complex of the pair, and I love how Slade slowly opens the door of the box Mace has built around himself.
I did find the pacing off a little bit in the middle, but that is probably just a me problem.
I adored seeing more of Austin and Kitt, the banter between Slade and his friends, and the family that Slade and Mace form around them, blood and found family.
I am hoping we get more in the Texas Pride series in the future.

Amazon international number one bestselling and award-winning author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer who pens contemporary gay romance. Happily married, with too many children and dogs, and living in the suburbs of Dallas.

Usually, I aim to be funny. Humor is an important part of my life. I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations (regardless of the situation), but jokes can be a tricky deal. I don’t want to offend anyone, and humor can offend. So instead, I’m going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen-year-old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been home. It was early in the night, and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died.

Weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you imagine times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother, and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have her ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness—it was her name, and she died a few weeks before Amazon announced their brand-new e-reader. She had no idea the Kindle was coming, and she would have finally gotten her name on something!

Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it… Never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event, I was lucky enough to know my friend and sometimes writing partner. I would have never gotten through those dark days without her unwavering support and guidance.

There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. For the first time in my life, I used the hand offered. I know, without question, I wouldn’t be here today without her. It takes a special person to stand beside someone at a time like that. I will love her forever. I could go on and on about the both of them, but I won’t and now you know a little more about us.
