As I have been reading the Portland Evergreens series, I have always, and I mean always intrigued by Hayes Montgomery and his long time unrequited love that we have heard about.

And here it is - we get the whole kit and kaboodle, and I am here for it!

It was everything and more than I could ever have thought.

This was a HEA 6 years in the making - and I am so glad Hayes got it, because how can you not love the guy.

Making me feel more for Morgan Reynolds than a kind of revolt and disgust of the way he was with his son, let along the wonderful Hayes, that was always going to be a bigger ask from Bolden.

But she did it. She really did it, and I ended up loving the guy by the end of the book.

This has been one of the best in the Evergreen-verse for me.  I liked seeing Morgan become the man he should have been before.  How he is with his son Finn.  His banter and growing friendship with Jacob.  But mostly I adored seeing him become the man he is today, letting his walls come down and oh how I love him with Hayes.

The friendships surrounding the main men too are the types of friendships we all need in our lives - those who would help up bury a body, and then comfort us afterwards.

You just need to read this book and get immersed in the whole thing.
