πŸ’ Clear Shot (Lauderdale Knights #9) πŸ’ Kat Mizera πŸ’

The deal was marry my teammate’s sister, fake the fairy tale, get her a green card, and part ways like it never happened.

No feelings. No strings. No complications.

Yeah, well… that didn’t go according to plan.

We caught feelings. Big ones.

Now she’s pregnant, with my baby. And just when I’m ready to admit this might be more than just a deal, she drops a she’s leaving. Headed back to Slovakia.

And she’s taking my kid with her.

That’s not happening.

She might think it’s over—but this story? It’s just getting started. Because they’re both mine, and I’m not letting go without a fight.

I am new to the Lauderdale Knights, but that did not take away from my enjoyment of this 9th installment.  Yes, I missed some of the nuances in relationships etc, but that is to be expected.

I enjoy a friends-to-fauxmance-to-more story, and Aiden and Hana's was a good one. A fake marriage that leads to more. Friends around them who can see that they like each other even when they deny it to themselves.

But of course our lovelies don't have the easiest road to a HEA, with Aiden's past getting in his way - I got why but boy oh boy was it frustrating.  And my biggest peeve - communicate, people!

I enjoyed the people around them,  adore how close Hana is to her brother Jonah and his family.

And of course an 80's style ending that would melt the coldest and hardest of hearts.

But the thing that I really appreciated about Clear Shot?  It is set in Florida, and finally, a romance that includes the natural disasters that happen every year in that part of the world!

I need to go back and read the rest of the books in this series, and look forward to any more that may come in the future (as it felt like we were coming close tot he end of the series with Clear Shot)

🏳️‍🌈 Promised Summer (Promises, Promises #2) 🏳️‍🌈 Rye Cox 🏳️‍🌈

Our summers were everlasting… until he broke his promise.

Many seasons have passed since I last saw Ryan. He used to visit Kither Springs in the summer, and though we only had those couple months together every year, he was my best friend… until the day we shared the most earth-shattering kiss over the fields we’d claimed as ours. Then he stopped answering my calls and never returned to town again.

Now, a decade later, he’s back and looking even more breathtaking than in my memories. Feelings I thought I’d gotten over come rushing back.
But Ryan didn't come back alone.

Karla’s the sweetest little girl I’ve ever met, with beautiful, bright blue eyes, just like her daddy. It wasn’t hard for her to capture my heart, but spending more time with her and her daddy is a bad idea.

I just got out of a relationship, and I’m not looking for a new one, but how do I keep myself from falling for someone who’s already captured my heart once before?

Promised Summer is book 2 of the Promises, Promises series set in a small town with meddling neighbors and a tight-knit community of friends and family. It can be read standalone, but is better read in a series. This book features friends-to-lovers, a single dad, second chances, and playful doggos.

Rye Cox is a new to me author, therefore I have not read the first in the Promises Promises series, but that was fine.  I did not feel that I was missing too much as I was reading (and I will go back and read it)

Jones is at a bit of a loose end, his relationship has ended, and the only guy he has really ever loved just moved back in town.

There could have been a lot of resentment and holding back, but what I liked is that Jones and Ryan discuss what happened, how they feel, and move on with their lives - yay for communication!

Sure, they have their problems, but who doesn't? It is the way that they dealt with them that had me smiling.

Add into that a lovely little girl and a puppy or two, and I was hooked.

I felt that Jones' feelings, especially regarding Ryan and him leaving, were relatable. With past events, his feelings were justifiable and completely understandable.

I also really, really liked the extended friend/family group around Jones and Ryan. We all need people around us like them.

There is also a good set up for the next book in the series, so I am looking forward to that one.

Yeah, overall it was just a lovely, sweet second chance at love story.  No big bad event, no real miscommunications. Just adults, adulting lol

Hello!

My name is Rye. It’s great to meet you!

I’m a dreamer of love and fluff. I’ve been reading gay romance from a young age, starting with Japanese Yaoi manga. Fun fact, I found my first actual M/M romance book from a manga adaptation. I loved the manga so much that I read the book, which lead to finding more great authors in the genre and down the rabbit hole I went…

I’m a romantic at heart, and that’s why I’ve always loved weaving stories of people falling in love and getting their happy endings. Sometimes life doesn’t give you a happily ever after, but you’ll always find one in my books.

When I’m not writing, I’m reading (A LOT) and dreaming about cuddling with my future cats.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions and happy reading!

It was only meant to be one night, but two little lines will change everything.

After recovering from a brain injury that nearly took his life, boxer Kaden Scott can no longer compete in the sport he’s dedicated his life to, leaving only one thing left for him to love…His best friend’s younger sister.

Kaden’s adored Missy Kincaid from a distance for far too long, not wanting to risk the brotherly bond he has with his best friend. He just had no idea that the smart, independent, driven woman—on the way to completing her PhD—has also been crushing on him from the moment they met too.

Until an unexpected kiss in an elevator leads to them spending a night together. With Missy waking up alone the next morning.

Six weeks later, she’s staring at two pink lines on a stick.

Telling Kaden is risky because she doesn’t want a future with him this way—not where he’s forced to be by her side. But Kaden isn’t a man willing to walk away from his responsibilities, and soon, the two of them are navigating a new life, one filled with uncertainties and question marks over the way they truly feel about each other.

Until an enemy from Kaden’s past comes back to haunt him, putting everything he loves at risk all over again. Only this time, he’s not willing to go down so easily in the fight for not just his life, but his feisty girl and unborn babies too.

Missy + Kaden

Missy has been crushing on her oldest brother's best friend for years.
And today - at her other brother's wedding - she's finally brave enough to flirt a little. Maybe she could have a fling with him. He would never want to have a relationship with his buddie's little sister, right?

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN...

What will happen with Missy + Kaden?

 ____________________

Well... that was cute.
We all should remember everyone in this book - we've already read the two books for Missy's brothers. And as it was a few years ago, and I'm suffering from book alzheimers, I'm not remembering much - but pff - we don't have to remember. We can always go back and read them again.
Missy is going to be a psychologist and Kaden was a pro boxer who had to give up his passion due to a very serious injury.
After that one night at the wedding things are a bit cool between them.
If they'd just talk to each other - everything would be easier. But book people never do.
But the reader enjoys watching them organize their feelings and lives and futures together.
That was an adorable little story.
I liked reading it.
Didn't take me long - it was a little short for my tastes.
Many things are repeated a lot and not much is happening.
And I really missed hearing Kaden's thoughts here and there. We don't know much about him.
This book could've/should've been a bit longer with a bit more important stuff. I don't even know what I mean, but it wasn't enough for me.

RISK was a cute and sexy little pregnancy romance with a bit of suspense toward the end.
