In a world where love feels like a dangerous game, one woman must face her fears and a past that haunts her. Get ready to be swept away by a story of forgiveness, vulnerability, and the power of love in Every Silent Lie.

Camryn Moore doesn’t do December. Not the parties. Not the memories. Not the pain. She buries herself in boardrooms by day and dirty martinis by night, trading connection for control. As a high-powered CFO, she’s unshakeable. Untouchable. But behind the sharp suits and sharper tongue is a woman slowly unravelling.

Then she meets him. A stranger. A spark. A moment that should’ve meant nothing somehow changes everything.

Dec is charming, handsome, reserved, and maddeningly perceptive. He seems to see every crack Camryn hides. But Dec isn’t just a man nursing his own ghosts. He’s hiding truths that could destroy whatever fragile trust is beginning to form between them.

In a season she’s always hated, Camryn might have to face the past she’s buried, the love she thought she’d never have, and the man who might just ruin her.

Or save her.

🪽 Second chance love 🪽 Grief & emotional healing 🪽 Found connection in unexpected places 🪽 Slow burn with heart 🪽 Guarded heroine, guarded hero 🪽 Love that whispers, not shouts 🪽Strangers to lovers 🪽Protective hero (in subtle, grounded ways) 🪽Hero who sees her when no one else does 🪽 Mutual salvation 🪽 He falls first (but hides it)

Camryn + Dec

Camryn is 37 and she's living alone in a sad apartment in London. All she does is work all day even all weekend long and go jogging in the mornings. She has to keep busy with work - she can't think about things. Her past. Her mom in the nursing home. Her almost ex-husband. Too much.
She doesn't have friends and everyone in the office is afraid of her.
The only 'fun thing' she allows herself is to go into hotel bars at night for a Martini and a one-night stand.
And one December night there is Dec.
He's different and not a one-night stand. He's not even a kiss at first. He's turning her whole life upside down a bit. Suddenly she catches herself smiling at work and joining the office holiday festivities. Well. Not really - just a tiny bit. But still.
Can she be happy again? Is this something that's allowed? Is it even possible for her to be happy again?

Phew.

That was so sad.
The whole book was saddish. But especially the beginning. You don't really cry or anything (during the first part of the book) - it's just such a sad and somber and melancholic atmosphere.
It should all be happy and festive and glittery - the book takes place in the month of December - every chapter is a new December day. So it should be christmassy and happy and hopeful - and it is - all around Camryn. But she's the exact opposite, she just can't take part in any of it. She doesn't do Christmas anymore.
We don't yet know why and what happened to make her the way she is now.
But we know it won't have been a very happy moment in her life.

I loved this.
I wasn't sure about things during the first chapters. It was all so hopeless and grey and Camryn is just so unfriendly and sad and we're not sure if we like her. But we do. We get to know about her and what happened to her and we understand her. And we feel for her and we want her to be happy again.
And then Dec comes into the picture and he's not really a ray of sunshine either. But for Camryn he is. He is giving her hope to get out of this life that she just existed in.
I just loved their moments. So sweet and sad and heartbreaking and just beautiful and full of hope.
We also get some fun and adorable moments. It's not all sad and dark!
I adored Mr. Percival! Such a great guy. And Albi. Ugh. Jeez. I just loved this so much and the not-crying from the beginning? It starts somewhere in the story and it basically never stops!
This would make an amazing Christmas Drama Love Story to watch on TV one day!

EVERY SILENT LIE was such a beautiful love story. Heartbreaking. Sad. Emotional. Christmassy. Londony. Snowy. Full of love and hope and so much more... Read it!
