I have had this book and series on my "want to read list" for a long time, and when the opportunity came up to be a part of this promo tour, I jumped at it.

Jillian writes sexy stories, but it has been a long time since she has had the sexy in her own life.  After a  long dry spell, she dips her toe in the dating pool again, only to have a string of horrible dates (do not even get me started on giant pube man - you are going to have to read it yourself for that one!!).  But seriously, the first two dates had me laughing out loud!

Even Jillian's sexy book characters are starting to feel the pressure of her dry spell - STIs and erectile dysfunction are even starting to creep their way into her writing

Then Rob, her college aged son brings his best mate home for spring break to help him get over the woman who has been stringing him along.

When Brian and Jillian meet, there is an instant attraction and a common interest in tennis. 

Add Jillian's best friend Victoria to the mix (gotta say, was not really a fan of her at all!), and Jillian's house becomes more like Club Med or a Contiki tour!

The undeniable, but also taboo sparks fly between Brian and Jillian, even though they both know that they cannot act on them.  But they are there. 

I loved how this pair didn't conform to the normal "I want Love" relationship.  Both knew they wanted to be together but knew the disapproval that would follow them.  So they became "F.W.P.B - Friends with Partial Benefits"

I loved their "arrangement".  Not the usual kind of agreement we read about these days!  But watching the relationship between Jillian and Brian grow was fun.  It involved a few false starts, a bit of c*&k blocking, and a lot of flirtations.

The one character I just could not like was Victoria, the best friends.  Really Victoria, really?   She just irritated the bejeesus out of me the whole book, I just wanted to smack her out!

And then there was the kicker, the twist in the tale that I really didn't see coming!  Was not a happy camper there for a little while with a couple of characters!

Oh yeah, then there is the thing we learn about Brian - o.O !!!

I did really enjoy Friends With Partial Benefits, and I do have the rest of the series patiently waiting for me to get round to reading them.  Now I have started, I will move the rest up my TBR list!

The basis of Becca and Tyler's story is not an original one - in fact it seems to be popping up everywhere these days.

Girl with no confidence meets confident and sexy millionaire, then hijinx ensue.

Becca's self esteem is through the floor since her long term boyfriend cheated on her with her friend.

Tyler doesn't do relationships (sound familiar??), but he is enthralled by Becca.

Add family she will never be good enough for, and a secret that Tyler thinks will push Becca away forever, and you have the basis for Conklin's Blueprints.

The ex boyfriend and the ex friend are just.... aargh!  Ashlynn is just a spoilt selfish bitch who I wanted to throw under a bus.  Connor at least has the decency to seem ashamed of his actions.

I wanted to slap Becca every time she felt she had to do something for that pair.  Really?  She needed some sense slapped into her for about 60% of the book!!

 Tyler ran so hot and cold.  Swoonworthy in private, but at work he's a bit of a cold fish, completely ignoring Becca.  Though these were kind of sweet

There were some pretty good secondary characters.  Becca's best friend Jamie and Tyler's brother Nathan were interesting.

Though Becca felt whiney and pathetic for most of the book, towards the end of the book she finally grew a pair and let fly at everyone, I mentally fist pumped for her.

This turn in Becca's character has kept me interested enough to read the next book when it comes out.  And Tyler has some major kissing up to do in the next book.

At the end of the day, I was cheering for these two to get their shit together and make a go of this relationship!

One thing that I did notice though was a fair few grammatical errors.  Mustard instead of mustered, jester instead of gesture.  Hopefully these errors will be flushed out for the next book.
