❤ Fifty Shades of Grey - The Movie ❤ My Thoughts ❤ #SpoilerAlert ❤

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY
My Thoughts

♥ VALENTINE'S DAY 2015 ♥

...the wait is FINALLY over ☺☺☺

Pre-Prologue☺

Just a little FYI about my review.....
This is just MY opinion...my impressions and thoughts.
So, if you like or hate what I have to say - if you agree or don't - doesn't matter ☺
Make up your own minds at the theatres - don't let ANYONE - not me, and especially not the press - tell you how you should like the movie.
This is just a fun little review, done by a huge Fan, because I've been asked about my opinion so often on Facebook and twitter etc., that I decided to write it all down. And since it's my first ever movie review - please don't expect too much ☺

ATTENTION DEAR READER!!!!!!

PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE YET!!!

I'm spoiling it all over the place!!!

Zoo Palast theatre - Berlin - the place of the Berlinale Premiere Gala - February 11th 2015

Prologue: Berlin

If you want to read my movie-review without reading about our time in Berlin - just scroll down a bit ☺

For being a (the) german #FSOG Fanpage, we were invited to attend a Press-Screening at 10am - the morning of the Berlinale Premiere. The movie was in English with german subs. And ooooh - the seats were soo amazing - it was an antique kind of theatre with loung-ey seats and footstools and free soft drinks ☺
I had no idea it would be so comfy being a member of the press ☺

After the screening we were interviewed by at least 5 press-people! I don't want to ever be interviewed again - not my thing ☺

After that we had to pick up our Berlinale ticket for the night at the hotel the Universal people were staying at. From there we finally went to our hotel to check in. After that we wanted to try a bit of hotel-stalking. We knew which hotel everybody was staying at - but it was a stupid hotel with a security guy at the entrance where the cars went in :((( No chance of seeing anyone.
But we had some frostbite after it - at least something ☺

Then it was finally time to head to the red carpet.
We initially wanted to stand there with all the fans and try to get autographs and selfies with everyone, but it said on our tickets that you wouldn't be allowed inside if you're late.
So, unfortunately, at the precise moment that Jamie got out of his car and the screaming started, we had to leave the red carpet to go inside :/

Once inside, they wanted to send us to our seats, but then they saw that we had numbered seats, so we were allowed to go to the left and hang out there for a while.
We pretended to be press again and joined the handfull of international photogs waiting in front of a blue Berlinale screen - hoping that we might have a chance to get some pictures.

And after waiting for what seems like forever, all our beloved Team Fifty people came walking by. Our pictures turned out horribly (new camera and untalented photographer to blame!☺)
Only this pic of our Producer-cutie Dana turned out okay - we asked him to pose for us and he did - nobody else recognized him anyway ☺ poor guy.

here's another pretty okay pic ... of our lovely director Sam and her darling Aaron.

.. a very blurry Dakota ☺ (I will soooo send job applications to some magazines - they will totally hire me for my photography skills!!!!!)

Mr. & Mrs. Dornan

Once Team Fifty all escaped into the VIP Lounge, we were politely asked to either go to our seats or stay outside and miss the movie. We (unfortunately) chose to go to our seats. Had we waited outside, we might've gotten another chance at selfies and autographs, because Team Fifty was not really watching the movie. They only went inside for a few minutes and then they went back into the VIP room :/
Well, this way we got to see the movie a second time in one day... not bad either.

Now finally about the movie......

The Cast

We all, more or less, witnessed the whole casting-process live on social media....
And with every newly chosen actor, there were happy and not-so-happy reactions☺
I have to say that I was really happy with all of them from the very beginning.
The only one I imagined a bit differently was Mama Grey - I kind of wanted the Mom from the TV Show ARROW - Susanna Thompson - she was exactly the Grace I imagined from the books. BUT - Marcia did a really great job. Mrs. Doctor Grey - the loving mom - loving a boy who doesn't want anyone touching him.

The most unhappy reactions during the casting came once Rita Ora was chosen as Mia. But I have to say she did amazing. She wasn't in the movie for long - but the time she had, she was great...wasn't she? A great american accent and even her French was great! I can't wait to see more of her in Darker & Freed. I hope she'll be in it more - let's hope that we'll see a bit more of all the others in the next movies.

Kate was a perfect fit for me too - her looks and the way she played her part.
Just like Elliot and José and Daddy Grey. Perfect choices.

Taylor was the most perfect fit for me. I almost fell off my desk-chair the night Max Martini was announced to play Taylor. I've been a fan of him and his amaaaazing voice ever since I first saw him on The Unit.

It's just that we don't get to see enough of all the co-stars. :(( But of course the attention has to be on the two main characters... we only have two hours to make this huge book into a believable on-screen-story.

That's why they probably left out Mrs. Jones and Ethan. I really hope we'll get to see them in #Darker.

Dakota & Jamie

Back when Dakota was announced to play Ana, and I saw the first pic of her with dark hair - I was totally in love with the choice.
Jamie and Dakota are both relatively unknown - of course we know Jamie from Once Upon a Time and The Fall and from Calvin Klein etc., but I guess that 95% of all Shadie-Fans had never heard of him before. Dakota either. We only knew about her mom and dad and grandma. Most of us never saw her on TV before.
And that's what I think was the best thing that Team Fifty could've done - casting two pretty unknown faces.
Just imagine someone like Ryan Gosling would've been Christian - the whole movie would've been all about him and not about the story and the book and everybody would've only talked about him. That's why they had to cast unknowns, so that the movie would be the focus of the audience and not their favorite Hollywood-Star. That way they made the audience fall in love with new faces.

Dakota was just AMAZING in the movie. No other word for how she played her part. I have to admit I was even a bit surprised ... she was realllllly great.

The way she portrayed the shy and innocent and sexy Ana - she did it so naturally and sooo funny!!!! Just perfect!

I loved the funny scenes sooo much - especially of course the drunk-dialling scene. Hilarious. Like it was written just for Dakota.
Nobody could've been better for that part. Dakota is the perfect Ana - like she just jumped out of the pages of Erika's book.

Jamie.
Yup, the poor guy - he's still not loved by everyone.
I was instantly excited when he was chosen as Christian....he's been hanging in my living room for ages - on a Calvin Klein-scented 'Wunderbaum'-thingy.☺
I was totally convinced that his looks would be a perfect fit.
Back then everybody kept moaning about wanting Matt Bomer. He was never my Christian. I've loved Matt since I first saw him on Tru Calling and then later on Chuck, but... he was just not Christian for me. First, he's just too old (and grey☺). Especially considering that Darker and Freed won't be finished until a few years from now. And then, as sad as it is - an openly gay guy, will still not get those kinds of roles in Hollywood. It's definitely time for that to change though!

But now back to Jamie as Mr. Grey.

I have sooo much to say about this - no idea where to start - I'll probably forget half of it....

I looove Jamie's voice. He has this amazingly deep and manly voice, perfect for Christian really....BUT - he's so not talented in doing accents :/ You just hear his Irish in almost every line Christian says.
I was thinking that it might've been better if Sam had decided to re-write the script a bit and have the Grey's come from Ireland ... that would've been perfect for the movie!

Ok, the next thing about Jamie. He's not a classically schooled actor. He didn't visit any elite acting schools for years and he doesn't really have a God-given natural talent. That's why he has some problems with acting...especially the way he says some lines. He puts the emphasis on the wrong part of the sentence... No idea if you know what I mean - but some of his lines sound weird :/ Which bothered me a bit - BUT in the german version that's totally not noticable, but then again - the german movie uses a horrible voice for Jamie :/ I think it's his Irish showing - they pronounce stuff in a different melody.

BUT ^^^^all of that^^^^^ is totally being made up by his BODY, his EYES and the LOOKS he throws at us - or rather at Ana. He realllly knows how to do that - being the Golden Torso and all ☺ #JustBeautiful - well no, that sounds unmanly ... #RealllllyHotHotHot ☺

Now about his dominance. I've read so many comments about him not coming across as a real Dom. BUT, I think it's supposed to be exactly like that.
Yes, Christian is a Dom - BUT, he only 'plays' this Dom in the playroom with his Subs and maybe a bit with business-stuff at the office. But with his family and in his normal day to day life, he's a completely normal, vulnerable, shy little boy.
He's trying to be the Dom with Ana - but he immediately recognizes during their first coffee-date, that she's too romantic to be into his lifestyle, and that's why he's slowly, unknowingly, trying to un-dom himself a bit - for her. I think Jamie does a really good job with this whole Dom thing.
☺ I can't really put into words exactly what I want to say, but I hope you kind of get what I mean.
He's not a Dom all through the movie. That's probably another point of discussion now for people in the BDSM Scene, who are saying that a Dom is a Dom, no matter what. But Christian is not a Dom really. He just needs this whole control thing because of everything that's happened in his past... but...this is taking us too far off topic now ☺
Suffice it to say - I really liked Jamie's aka Christian's dominance in the movie.

Then of course we have Jamie's walk. We all know - ever since watching him on the Graham Norton Show - that he's always had problems with walking. And even though he's trained it a bit - it's still really noticeable in almost every walking scene he does. That's the only kind of 'un-manly' thing he does. ☺

All in all I loved Jamie as Christian. Yes - there were some minor problems, but I'm positive that he'll fix those for the next movies.

Plus - the most important thing, for us ladies, and of course for some boys too, is that he looks mega-hot when he's not wearing clothes - or pffff, even if he's wearing clothes. He's just HOT. #EndOfStory.

And that's bringing us to the next topic.....

The EROTIC moments in the movie

Whoa!!!

I almost fell out of my comfy theatre-lounge-chair when I saw the first NAKED FEMALE NIPPLE!!!!! o.O
I would've NEVER expected that from an American production. Not in a million years. Sooo many titties and naked behinds and even fronts - male and female. OY ☺☺☺
I was amazingly - pleasantly surprised by the eroticism of the movie. I think the 16 rating for germany is a bit too low even - 18 would've been more appropriate. But what do I know about teenies these day - I don't even want to know what they've seen and done. ☺

Sure, there's more sex in the book. But you can only put so much sex-scenes into a two-hour movie and still have the story make sense to people who haven't read the books. And there are surprisingly a lot of those non-readers sitting in the theatres!

But I think that we have the right amount of sexiness in the movie - everything is really done beautifully and erotically - it doesn't come across as cheap or hastily done.

The only thing I have to complain about in the sexy-department is the kissing. There's NO tongue anywhere!!!! Everything is all naked and erotic and then they don't let them use tongue???? I know Hollywood usually doesn't do tongue-kissing, but the kissing could've been a bit sexier - especially in relation to the whole nakedness of the movie ☺
I'll need to see if I can apply to be the kissing-director or the kissing stand-in for the second movie.... ☺

The Playroom!
It turned out beautifully, didn't it?? Real classy and 'dangerous'-looking.
But Ana doesn't seem all that shocked - surprised yes - but not really shocked. She just walks right in and starts touching stuff ☺☺☺

The Bathtub-Scene.
I would've liked a few bubbles in the water....who's taking a bath without soap? Just pure water??? Pure? Her innocence is gone already ☺ It seemed a bit weird to see them bathing in clear water. A little nipple peeking through the foam would've been even sexier.

I think Jamie and Dakota were really great in the sex scenes. You can see how great they get along privately. There were no weird moments or looks - nobody seemed embarrassed about anything. Well, they probably were a bit shy at first, doing to each other what they had to do to each other.... but it didn't show on screen.

THE END

Well....the end... it came pretty quickly, didn't it?

"Ana."
"Christian."
Elevator doors.
The End.

It's a bit more moving in the book - but the way Christian is looking all sad ... it somehow fits.
Poor guy.

Also, those few scenes that we remember from the shooting of the movie in Vancouver - him jogging all sad and wet in the rain with her little note in his hands and her staning in the rain after Taylor drops her off.... they didn't make it into the movie :((( (DVD!!)

Well, most movies lose a lot of scenes before we get to see the final version. And when it's a book adaptation - it's even worse. Like I mentioned before - they only had those two hours to tell the story. And they did a pretty good job with those 120 minutes.

I think it was a pretty good ending - the closing of the elevator doors. Had something final to it.... but we all know it's not the end of the two of them. BUT, what about the non-readers....they must've been all
HUH??? WHAT??? OVER ALREADY??? o.O  #Cliffhanger
But, well, they'll find out soon enough that there are three books. ☺

....and now a few little things that went through my head while watching the movie....some nice, some funny, some a bit unkind...but don't worry, I'm still a fan and I still love everything about #FSOG ☺
(half of those 73 points were the thoughts I guessed non-readers might have had while watching the movie!)

1. And so it begins....
Grey clouds over Seattle. Well, that's a perfect beginning I'd say ☺

2. First we see Christian. Hm - I would've thought they'd start with Ana, like in the book. But that's how we know we're not in the book anymore. Christian has to play a bigger part here for it to make sense.

3. Awww cute - how he's tying his shoes - just like we learned in Kindergarten ☺

4. I want Christian's closet! Who's building me one? And the apartment to go with it too, of course.

5. Hm, Kate looks really weirdly sick - weird make-up.

6. Ana pulls her hair into a ponytail in front of the mirror, and in the car - which is obviously not Dakota - she has her hair down. 1st mistake ☺

 7. Yup - I want a chauffeur too - and by chauffeur I mean Max Martini.

8. Whoa sure - there's an empty parking spot right in front of Chrisitan's office building.
Happens to me too all the time when I have appointments in downtown Seattle.

9. Why doesn't Blondie open Christian's office door for Ana? If Christian would've seen that!!!

 10. Hm - the 'fall-into-the-office-scene' - a bit exaggerated, wasn't it?? Looks a bit funny - well not ha-ha funny - a bit weird, the way she's falling. ☺

11. Hm....she wanted a pencil so bad ...did she use it at all??? Aside from using it as a penis-substitute and playing around with it in/on her mouth ☺

12. Aww cute - he's stealing her interview questions when she's getting into the elevator.

13. Why does Kate steal Ana's sandwich? Huh?? Any deeper meaning to that?

14. Huh, how long did Christian wait in that aisle at Clayton's like a stalker before Ana came running by? #SlightlyCreepy #EveryBreathYouTake

 15. hahahahaha Serial-Killer ☺☺☺ A little inside-joke for all of Jamie's fans, who know that he's a serialkiller on THE FALL

16. José - hahahhaah - and now a few pics with a smile - or not ☺☺☺☺☺

17. Hahaha - the way Ana looks and says PAUL??? when Christian ask her if he's her boyfriend. As if this overly-tanned Bodybuilder could ever be her boyfriend.

18. What? You're romantic? Buh-bye!!! pffff Christian!

19. Whoa - almost killed by a huge truck - uhm bicycle. Thank God Christian was there to save her. Would've been stupid if the movie had to end before it even started. Phew. ☺

20. KISS HER ALREADY DUDE!!!! Grrrrrrrr!

21. Why can't Ana apply her own lip-gloss? She can't be THAT inexperienced!??

22. Ana drunk-dialling Christian. BEST. SCENE. EVER!!!!!! Sooooo funny!!! Perfect acting.

23. Oy - Elliot's first appearance....yup. Nice ☺
heheheh Christian didn't choose his brother - cute!

24. Hahahah - I will launder this item!

25. Oy. Hotelroom. CUTE - the way he so casually points to the empty side of the bed, when she asks him where he slept ☺

26. Oy he's taking off his shirt - oy - oy - yeah - nice ☺☺☺

27. Toast-mistake - there are different bite-marks every time we see the toast in Ana's hand.

28. Oh Christian - you're welcome to nibble on my toast anytime!!!

29.  Yup - Elevator-Scene. Fuck the paperwork. YESSS!!!! Cute.

30. Ooooh naked Elliot-butt on the couch - or rather on Kate ☺

31. Ooooh here it is for the first time: Laters Baby!!! awwwww ♥

32.  Yup, that guy can wear the hell out of a suit!

33. oyyyyy Charlie Tango.

 34. Yup - a little light bondage in the helicopter ☺

35. Huh??? Why is she so overly excited that they're flying to Seattle??

36. Yeah - nice place Mr. Grey. Can I move in????

37. Yes of course he plays the piano - who else?? Taylor?

38. Playroom - hahahahaha - your X-box and stuff? - too funny!!!

39. Ana's not running out of the red-room screaming ... a bit weird ...
...  little innocent, but kinky Ms. Steele ☺

40. Ana, you can live here - but only from Friday through Sunday!
.... the other days he has other chicks living there or what?? ☺☺☺

41. Uh-Oh - we're de-virginizing her now ☺☺☺☺

42. Yup - completely NAKED!!! JAMIE'S BACKSIDE!!!!!! (and even more) o.O double-oy ☺

43. Rolling Stones singing while Ana is making breakfast - cute.
#CauseImMakingPancakes ☺

44. Is Ana drinking tea out of a bowl? Or is she drinking the milk from her cereal? Or are that just weird tea-cups?

45. Ugh, what's with those horribly ugly shoes Ana is constantly wearing? Seattle is a rainy city and those shoes are so not rain-proof.

46. Oooh-kay - suddenly he's in her room. How did he get in there? Did he bring the wine and ice-cubes? #CreepyStalker #CallTheCops ☺

47. She just came home from jogging - still wearing her sweaty clothes - and he's licking off all that sweat? Well - whatever floats your boat Mr. Grey. ☺

48. The book-Ana is always being forced to eat...but in the movie - nobody is eating anything - other than Kate and the stolen sandwich. Everywhere there's food being put in front of people, but nobody eats anything. Probably a Hollywood thing.

49. He gives her a car, antique books, a computer - but she still got that horribly ridiculous 'antique' cellphone.

50. Where did he learn to braid a girl's hair??

51. NAKED-MALE-PART-SIGHTING!!!!!!!! o.O

52. Mia. Rita. She even talks french. Cute.

53. Oy. Ana's step-dad is Pacey's brother. I'm feeling sooo old right now.
All you young Shadie-Fans probably won't know what I'm talking about ☺ #DawsonsCreek

54. Why did he have to tell her that he's having dinner with that child-molesting woman?? And why is he even still in contact with her anyway??? Well, yeah - the poor guy doesn't see it the way we do. He thinks she helped him.... but still....

55. Jeez the costume-design-department must've been amazingly gifted - or Jamie ist just looking like a SEX GOD in everything, or out of everything he wears ☺ which he obviously does.

56. hahahah gliding. Why is she so happy doing that??? I would've died from a stroke or heart attack before we even got off the ground!!!

57. I really like how the music fits the scenes perfectly.

58. The glider is probably some kind of metaphor for giving up control - or for his penis ☺☺☺

58.5 In case you were wondering ..... Coffee

59. Playroom Jeans - OY ☺

60. And he's playing the piano half-naked in the dark again.....

61. Oy, now he's hitting her with the belt - you asked for it Ana.....

62. Outchie..... :((

63. Awww the poor guy - looking so lost and sad sitting on her bed.
Nooo - you can't love me - why would anyone ever want to love me??
Stupid little boy - we all love you Christian!!! ♥

64. :( He's sitting in his living room - all sad and broken and not really knowing why or how or what he's supposed to do - he believes he has to let her go :(

65. And those damn elevator doors are closing...... :(((((((

66. "Ana."

67. "Christian."

68. Noooooo #UglyCrying

69. ..... and now we have to wait forever for the second movie.

70. I'm reading book #2 again asap!!!

71. THE END

72. Did anyone see Erika make a cameo like that Twilight-person? She's in the second book with the dog in the hotel.☺ But she's here too - in that Clayton's Scene (DVD)

73. No extra scenes after the credits??? I always like to have those extra special scenes :(

☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

MY END RESULT

I really enjoyed the movie.
I went in without any expectations - just like you're supposed to - especially when you're a huge fan of something. And I was completely and positively surprised by the whole thing.
It was sooo much sexier and funnier than I would've ever expexted.
And as long as EL James is happy with it - we are too.

Sure, they left out a lot of what's in the book. Like for example Dr. Greene, who had been cast and filmed, but got cut out of the final version. But like I said before - we only had those two hours to make the best possible movie out of that big and fat book.

Everybody has to make up their own minds - you just can't make everyone happy.
But I really loved it - BUT I hope for a little bit more in the second movie.
The first book doesn't really have all that much story - well at least story that can be translated onto the big screen. There was no action, no crime, no betrayal or anything big happening in the first book. They meet and start to fall in love, but they both know that it's probably the wrong person for them etc. etc. Nothing much happening other than a bit of sex and lots of crying and feeling. The second book has much more happening with Elena and Jack and this and that - I can't wait!!!! ☺

OUT OF 10 POSSIBLE SILVER TIES - I GIVE 9 TIES ☺

Darker will hopefully get the full 10 silver ties!!!!
