🏳️‍🌈 Whisper (Westbrook Elite #7) 🏳️‍🌈 Cambria Hebert 🏳️‍🌈

Can you whisper?

Something I never thought I’d ask the guy who is exactly my type but completely wrong for me.

Someone I sneak secret glances at from a distance while vowing to never get too close.
And then I get tossed in jail. With him.

Know how forced proximity and extreme panic go together?

They don’t. And the walls I spent a lifetime erecting around me crack, giving him an intimate view of all the secrets I work so hard to protect.

Color me surprised when the pierced, tattooed DJ doesn’t recoil or call me a freak.

Arsen gets me through the night, his attention like a match to my insides, lighting me on fire and making me burn.

Keeping my distance is impossible.

My body begs to be near him, but we just don’t mix.

He’s fire. I’m water.

Sound is his superpower but my kryptonite.

For once in my life, my heart is louder than my head, and I can’t stay away.
But it seems following my heart leads me straight into trouble.

Turns out I’m not the only one who thinks maybe Arsen and I don’t belong together,
and the people who agree will go to extremes to make sure we stay apart.

Whisper is a Westbrook Elite standalone novel, a college sports romance featuring:
Opposites attract
A single jail cot
Star-crossed lovers
Auditory disability rep (misophonia & tinnitus)
Hurt/Comfort
Bromance/Found family
OTT possessive MC

I adore this series.  Each and every tale of an Elite is so good.

And Prism, well he has been a bit of an enigma wrapped in a riddle for a while, and I have been waiting for his time to come.

And what a time is had.

I did feel that the first half of Whisper was quite slow, but that was not a bad thing. He is the kind of guy who falls fast, and yeah that might happen here, it also felt cautious.

Things did feel better paced in the second half, and once I got going from then on, I did not want to put the book down.

And Arsen is all kinds of 😍. His and Prism's relationship has the feel of a daddy/little situation - though that is not at all what they are. There is no kink, people!!

Prism comes across as a lot younger, a little boy lost.  And your heart can't help but hurt and feel for him.

I love the found family in this whole series.  And now we can add Arsen to the Elite family.  We all need to have a person like him in our lives.

PS. I LOVE this cover!

πŸ’œ Max Monroe 🌺 WHAT I SHOULD’VE SAID 🌞

WHAT I SHOULD'VE SAID
Max Monroe

• 19 April 2024
• standalone

★★★★
4.9 Stars

When grumpy, muscled-up artist Bennett Bishop bothers to speak, it’s usually to say something you’re not ready to hear.

When he first speaks to Norah Ellis, a rambling runaway bride who hitchhikes a ride from him, it’s to tell her to get out of his truck and walk because she’s a pain in the a-s-s.

By appearance, Norah Ellis is a fancy fashionista who’s spent the last several years living the good life in the city—expensive apartments, highbrow events, and a fiancΓ© with wealth and good looks. The only problem is that she didn’t choose any of it for herself.

On the day of her July wedding, thanks to a letter from a stranger, Norah’s world turns upside down. She runs for the hills of Vermont to start a new life, but what’s waiting for her, between her estranged sister, the townspeople, and bad-boy Bennett Bishop himself, is way more than she bargained for.

Enemies turn to lovers, strangers become friends, dark secrets bust open like cans of worms, and most of all…Summer will never be the same.

Norah + Bennett

26 year old Norah just ran out of her own wedding.
Well. It wasn't really her anything. Her mom organized everything. She even basically picked out the perfect super rich guy to marry.
But then she got an envelope while putting on her dress and she just couldn't anymore..
Off she goes to stay at her big sister's place in Vermont for a bit.
The sister she hasn't talked to for five years.
Plus there's this super grumpy guy who gave her a ride into town. Ugh.

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN!

BEAUTIFUL!
This was another amazing Max Monroe rom-com. But this time it was a rom-com that makes us cry! A lot!
We get our typical adorable meet cute and we get all the Max Monroe fun and hilariousness. We get small-town, drama, friends, family - all the great things. But we also have some extremely heartbreaking and emotional things in here too!
I just loved reading this. Would make an amazing movie!
I don't want to say too much. Just read it. It's beautiful!

If I had to complain a tiny bit.... I wanted more of things!! Of Norah, Bennett and Summer things. Of funny and sad things. Of falling in love things. It felt a bit slow at the beginning and suddenly they're kissing?! I just wanted the book to be a bit longer with more of everything! But it was amazing just as it was!

WHAT I SHOULD'VE SAID was such a sweet + funny + adorable + so very heartbreaking small-town romance! Run to your nearest book dealer for your own Bennett - this one is so mine!
